Yellowjackets truly has everything. itâs a love story. itâs a tragedy. itâs a 90s high school sitcom. itâs a survivalist show. itâs a supernatural drama. itâs an investigative mystery. itâs a story about the complex dynamics of female relationships. itâs a story about the horrors of being a teen girl. itâs a study of the lasting effects of ptsd. thereâs cults. thereâs biblical imagery and greek mythos references. thereâs milfs. thereâs murder. thereâs horror. thereâs comedy. thereâs cannibalism as a metaphor for desire. itâs literally got everything.
misty hate feels like a personal attack like. "oh but she broke the black box!! shes the reason theyre stuck there" GOOD now you have a show to watch!! lets all thank misty
SOMEONE WRITE THIS RIGHT NOW
I see your "Gi-hun glitches back in time and wakes up again at the beginning of the 36th Games and gets a chance to re-do the rebellion knowing who Young-il really is"
And I raise you
Gi-hun dies in the rebellion and wakes up in his mother's apartment in 2021 on Ga-yeongâs birthday - the day he'll receive a business card from a man playing ddakji.
Gi-hun makes it his goal from there forward to halt the Games with this new advantage, and goes in again for the first time.
Bonus points: it becomes a love triangle between Sang-woo and In-ho, the two men Gi-hun is trying desperately to save
I HEAVILY fuck with characters who haunt the narrative (or even just haunt the epilogue/finale)
Please give me recommendations of Tv shows/ movies/ books with characters who give the vibe of
You Canât Catch Me Now / Lover, You Shouldâve Come Over / Silver Springs
PLEASE
Iâll put a few of my favorites in the tags
send this star to your favorite accounts to show you that you love them! time to spread the love! âïž
Thank you so much!!!! I love your account too <3

In defense of Rhaenyra Targaryen and Alicent Hightower, they are both human.
The amount of ppl who donât realize that Alicent choosing Helaenaâs safety over her sons and Helaena willingly giving up her son to protect her daughter are direct parallels drives me crazy. LIKE ITS SO OBVIOUS!!!!! And itâs such an important part of the message of the show and also Alicentâs character development!!!!
I think thatâs why it makes me so mad when ppl berate Alicent in the finale for âchoosing Rhaenyraâ! Because she wasnât choosing Rhaenyra, she was choosing her daughter! Her now being able to be at peace with Rhaenyra was an obvious benefit, because her love for Rhaenyra is also important, BUT she never would have made that choice for JUST Rhaenyra.
Itâs all about making sacrifices as a mother. And how when it comes down to it, society wants you to choose your sons, because theyâre the heirs, and theyâre the ones who are âmore importantâ. I mean, come on people, the reason why Aemma died is because Viserys was so obsessed with having a son. Thatâs a major part of the message about misogyny.
And so Alicent and Helaena choosing their daughters was their rebuttal against the patriarchy, and the only one they could really make.
And when it comes down to it, it was also Alicent choosing her younger self. This season also showed that Alicent really sees herself in her daughter, so in a way, choosing Helaena was also her way of making things up to her younger self. So, she also chose herself over her sons. Which again, she never would have done if she wasnât protecting Helaena. But it annoys me when people call this selfish, because itâs likeâŠ. Yeah! Sheâs allowed to be selfish for once in her life. I was shocked by the amount of ppl who are self proclaimed âAlicent apologistsâ being annoyed once they perceived her as not a saint anymore. I also admired her love for her kids in the first season, but Iâm also proud of how sheâs growing to choose herself! And while sheâs definitely not evil like her weird misogynistic haters make her out to be, she DOES have flaws. Sheâs a genuinely complex character, which is the reason why I thought everyone who liked her liked her in the first place.
But yeah it just annoys me when people say the finale was out of left field because I thought that Alicentâs actions in it made a lot of sense honestly. Idk maybe itâs because itâs different from the book and Iâve never read the bookâŠ
But during Blood and Cheese when Helaena chose her daughter I was like âI sense a parallel comingâ ⊠this is going to show Alicent something important⊠and I was not surprised when the parallel delivered đ€·
every single time rhaenyra has a plan it is so fucking looney tunes i cannot take her seriously. what if i got into a nun habit to go talk to my ex girlfriend. what if i did the eugenics math and tried to make my kingsguard into a dragonrider. what if i got all of the brokeass dirty blonds in flea bottom to stand like bowling pins before the most pissed off animal in the seven kingdoms. WHAT IF I ACT LIKE MY BRUNETTE SONS ARE THE PRODUCT OF MY BLOND HUSBAND
lori grimes they could never make me hate you
I GOT RICKROLLING đ
Your gender is now the first randomized wikipedia article you get. No rerolls.
why r the beloved "morally gray" male characters of fandoms always like this is baby killer john he loves killing babies for fun and the fandom is like omg baby killer johnnn đđđ but a morally gray female character is like heres a traumatized teen girl thats meant to be deeply flawed and wrong at times but also went thru a lot and is meant to be sympathetic and nuanced and the fandom is like SHE NEEDS TO DIE RIGHT NOWWWW !!!!!!!!
Thank you for tagging me @alicent-archive !!!
This is a game where you type in âmy vibeâ on Pinterest and put the first 6 images that pop up.
being a fan of a female fictional character is like yes im in love with her soulfully and carnally but i am ALSO her defence attorney her ambassador her pr manager her representative her missionary her right hand arm man her silly rabbit. her scholar her explainer the last man standing in her army. phd in explaining her nuance and depth priesthood in her church. could i be talking about other things?? move on?? maybe!!! were i not the animated suit of armor in her temple bound to protect her for eternity
i love you female characters who make selfish choices they know will be bad for everyone. i love you female characters who think they're making the right choice but make things worse. i love you female characters who are making the right choice but noone else understands it.
hotd tells the story of an undying love between two women which consistently overcomes the violence of war, feudalism, and patriarchy. the affection between rhaenyra and alicent weaves through the narrative to tell us something larger about misogyny, gendered violence, etc., that is far more compelling than f&b's incessant and arguably banal âmale primogeniture is bad,â thesis. rhaenyra and alicent are not âcodependent,â and hotdâs writing (with regards to this relationship) is not âmisogynistic;â this relationship is a representation of the power of love against seemingly insurmountable odds and the consequences of rejecting adherence to duty in an inherently corrupt sociopolitical system. rhaenyra and alicentâs dedication to one another sharply contrasts the brutality of the dance, compelling the audience to contemplate the futility of the conflict, the pervasive nature of misogyny, and, ultimately, the faculty of love as a means to combat suffering.
Dare I sayâŠ. Rhaenyra AND Alicent
I will be coming back to this concept. We're not done here
Glad that yâall are living the toxic old men yaoi summer up but can we have a doomed yuri summer next year pretty please
saw someone point out that at times, Alicent acts more like an older sibling to her children, rather than having the typical parent-child dynamic (obviously bc she had them so young). and that got me thinking about how none of her relationships in the show feel typical. Her relationship with Otto has always felt more like a "partner" dynamic (bc he's always used her as such), and her relationship with Viserys feels more like parent and child at times (bc of the obvious age gap). Gwayne is more like a stranger to her rather than a sibling (from what we've seen so far).
all of what are supposed to be Alicent's most important relationships have been twisted into something completely different.
If I had a nickel for every time I shipped a queer ship where I thought Character A was more heavily implied queer than Character B, only for the show to shock me by making Character B confirmed queer (but not yet Character A), Iâd have two nickels. Which isnât a lot, but itâs very odd that itâs happened twice.
Alicent didnât choose Rhaenyra over her kids
She chose:
- herself, her daughter, peace, and yes, Rhaenrya
Over:
-her son who tried to kill his brother, tried to send his sister to war, and started the war by killing a child
-her other son who she probably assumes is living a hell of an existence and may die soon anyway
For everyone who is saying âAlicent wouldnât let Rhaenyra kill Aegonâ I have something to tell you. Alicent is human and can change over time. She is not who she was. She no longer wears green or is religious.
From A Wiki of Ice and Fire, âAlicent remained in her chambers for the last year of her life. Her only company was her septa, serving girls, and guards. Alicent often wept, began talking to herself, and came to dislike the color greenâ
We have seen her start to decent into grief and madness. She just wants everything to stop. She wants to save who she can and run. You saw her hesitate. You saw her cry. She didnât want to agree but she had to in order to save Helaena. To save herself. She made a mistake and is trying to reconcile the best she can. This is her only play other than abandoning her entire family and running off. Yâall are all for complex characters until you donât like the complexities.
I find it so interesting how this show at its core is YEARNING to be an understated brooding character drama that has a small but committed fanbase but due to the millions being poured into it every episode and the cgi dragon battles and its status as a legacy of the most successful tv show of all time, the audience it draws is just NOT the audience itâs writing for. how are you supposed to write a character drama about two women in love with each other pulled apart by a world that despises them just for existing and all the ways in which your good intentions will take you gently by the hand and lead you down a road marked âstraight to hellâ when the bulk of your audience thinks that s8 was the only bad season of game of thrones. the dissonance is wild, the task is impossible, they canât please everyone but hey theyâre pleasing me so sucks to be the rest of you x
am I the only one whoâs enjoying s2 đ I feel like a lot of people have issues with the plot / the way theyâre executing things (which is fair enough) but personally Iâve quite enjoyed watching and donât really mind- but I am easy to please all it takes is either a dragon or some gay shit and we good 10/10 ! !
âtheyâve ruined show Alicentâ
No,
sheâs just a pathetic little meow meow. leave my silly desperate despairing lesbian alone, my tragic skrunkle wrunkle
rhaenyra feeling powerless and turning to masculine symbols of power, alicent feeling powerless and trying to appeal to men through her femininity. we are circling a theme and point here people!!
Hot take based on fandom only but the people who treat HOTD as a football game cheering for greens vs blacks are as annoying as fans who only care about powerscaling. Bitch the fun in stories is seeing how characters react and grow in complicated situations if you're dismissing the writing and character development of a whole half of a show you're not watching it properly and you should probably stay with sports instead of fiction.
Alicent being a victim to a council of misogynist men being a 'gotcha' moment for some fans really shows their true mentality. This isn't about feminism to these fans, Rhaenyra is just a shield they use to hide their own misogyny with feminism. Otherwise Alicent's circumstances are so clear to even casual watchers (especially in an episode where both her and Rhaenyra have parallel scenes having their council speaking over them). A child bride forced to operate in the patriarchy to protect her kids, that girl getting thrown aside by men, isn't 'payback' or karma.. it's just the patriarchy wheel going on, crushing woman after woman under it. People enjoying Alicent's 'downfall' simply fail to understand the victims of patriarchy or do not care about them (which is why for many of these 'feminists', Rhaenyra's worth is tied to Daemon and not as an individual).
Once again, I have to remind everyone that a 14 year old girl was effectively pimped out to an old man by her father, then she was forced into giving birth to 4 children while experiencing consistent marital rape.
This isnât Alicentâs first time experiencing misogyny, she has been a victim of it her whole life.
However, people in this fandom love to jump on the âhating Alicentâ bandwagon without applying any level of critical thinking so theyâll have you believe that a child bride is the main villain on the show.
