I just felt the need to draw something about this story and of course it have to be him

This is actually a very good advice. Sometimes I find myself forgetting this. We’re supposed to do this for fun, so why don’t we just do whatever makes us happy without worrying about the numbers it’ll do

For newer artists do you think it's best to post as much art as possible or to stick to a niche (i.e. a ship or specific character)? And if they do stick to a niche how do they not get like stuck there (my biggest fear lmao)

I think we shouldn’t view sharing art online like a subset of Internet Person or influencer. Just draw and share what feels right don’t draw for engagement, getting lots of engagement isn’t nearly as fulfilling as having fun with what you do

I’m currently trying to draw Draco in several different ways to see if I get one version that I like but I don’t know if I’m going to accomplish it 😭

Hey guys let me tell you about advance fee scams

I hope y'all are familiar with these in this day and age, especially my artists out there, because they're incredibly common.

About half an hour ago I posted a drawing and tagged it #artists on tumblr, and very quickly received this comment.

My scam radar went off immediately, due to the generic blog name and lack of any emotion in the comment, but I decided it might be an entertaining venture so I dmed them. They asked for a drawing "of these", and sent me a random selfie. I got the details and told them it would be $15, and they promptly offered me $300. At this point I know it's a scam, but I play along for funsies and give them my paypal. Shortly, they send me this image for "confirmation" (I blocked out my email)

And they began to insist that I checked my email. I looked in my spam folder and found the following email.

This is fake. This is not a thing. And the "you're to refund the $200.00 back" is the scam. They send vaguely official-looking emails at you to "prove" that they sent you the money, then have you send them $200 (or however much the scam is for). Then, surprise surprise, you're out $200.

I continued to play along for a bit, and in the second email "Paypal" told me that I had to refund the $200 before they could "credit the $300 to my account", along with these lovely threats.

And yeah, it's silly. But it's not silly if you don't know and get scammed. So. Spread, please! And thank you very much to @mlaurel for the opportunity to get these screenshots.

I forgot to explain the symbolism of the chess pieces I chose

🤍 The white queen is for Hermione *of course * cause she is HIS queen, she is HIS and he will do anything to keep her alive. Even if she is in the other counterpart of the war.

🖤 The black horse is for Draco cause I thought about the trojan horse and how it fit with Draco’s infiltration and how he destabilizes Voldemort regimen. So it’s not related with the horse chess piece itself.

And for the poses of the pieces

The queen is in his grip indicating possession while the horse is leaning on her, even if he doesn’t want to, and that’s why the horse is not looking at the queen, cause he’s trying to fighting it

And let’s just say that I know barely nothing about chess lol so I improvised

Like yes, I see we have a waxing gibbous blood moon in retrograde, I must now draw the gay boys in a line less painterly style but tomorrow will be dot eyed 6B pencil sketches and nothing else

I come back to this kind of comic style because I fell like it’s more for me and I can express a little better. I’ll try to improve with each drawing

Well this is the result.

I know it’s not perfect but I can say that I learned a lot on the process and tried a bunch of things

I also can say that I’m not sure if I’m going to keep doing this artstyle. It takes sooo much time and effort and it’s not in me to keep the focus in just one thing for so long

It was fun to work in these kind of pieces but It’s not my thing I guess

Anyway, this is a journey so I just need to keep on learning and trying new things

I already seeing things in this drawing that needs to be fixed but I just don’t wanna lol

It’s finally finished 😭

And I just wanted to document my suffering ⤵️

I really pushed myself with this one. I’m not used to draw something so detailed in this style. It was hard and it was a lot of trial and error lol

You can see how I changed things here and there (like the eye that I forgot it wasn’t supposed to be so open because of the scar)

At some point I was stuck and questioned all of my life choices but then I remembered that I draw for fun and it’s okay to NOT do everything okay. The point is to keep on learning and improving. I know it’s not perfect and I don’t care.

I don’t know if I’m gonna keep doing artworks like this. I just don’t know if this is the kind of art style that I want to do so I don’t know what my next art piece will be

It’s funny cause I always thought that my art style was going to be something more like a comic style but then I put my hand to draw and more and more I end up with this kind of art style

My first digital fanart ever vs. my last one

•The first one is full anime style (there’s not much personality in this one, I just draw what I saw)

And you can see how much I didn’t know how to use ibis paint haha lol

•The second one is not that much anime style (or at least I tried to)

And I venture a little bit more with new brushes and differents techniques on procreate . Still, I know I have a looong way to go. There’s a lot to learn yet
