GET URSELF SOME COMICS! HELP OUT SOME PALESTINIAN FAMILIES!

Hello, I have put together a bundle of comics to raise money for those affected by the ongoing g3n0c1de. There are some really really wonderful comics in here by so many amazing artists and 100% of the proceeds go to palestinian gofundmes. The comic I have contributed is a 50 page comic I made in 2019 about starman's daughter and her human boyfriend called A Really Big House, which you can currently ONLY buy through this bundle. the diner [herbert west x reader x dan cain]

pairings: herbert west x reader x dan cain [romantic or platonic]

characters: herbert west, dan cain, you, random diner lady

synopsis: you and your two roommates can't sleep and decide to head out to the diner to get something to eat.

a/n: woohoo !! diner fic !! i love diner fics they're so warm and cozy and hopefully i was able 2 capture that vibe here !!

you rubbed your eyes tiredly as you glanced at the bottom of the door. the bright fluorescent green glow of your roommates' infamous reagent partially lit up the crack between the door and the floor and you rolled your eyes in annoyance.

from beside you, dan knocked on the door, causing the commotion in the basement to pause before a long, dramatic sigh was heard.

you and dan exchanged a look and snickered as footsteps made their way up to the main floor.

a tired and disheveled herbert west greeted you, a scowl prominent on his face as he glared at the two of you.

you held back a grin as he crossed his arms in frustration, "i'm working."

"and we're unable to sleep which is why we're gonna head out to the diner in town, if you can we'd like you to come with us," dan replied.

herbert looked between the two of you as you both looked at him expectantly. he glanced back into the basement, mumbled something under his breath, and turned back around to face you.

"alright. you caught me at a good time. i'll go."

you excitedly clasped your hands together and jumped, "yippee !! go get your coat, it's freezing out there !"

herbert rolled his eyes at your enthusiasm but you could see the small smile tugging at the corner of his lips, "fine. wait for me in the car."

you and dan both turned to each other and exchanged a quick high five before excitedly walking out to the car.

herbert leaned against the doorframe and shook his head before turning back to the basement and descending down the steps to grab his coat.

dan settled into the driver's seat as you clambered into the back, reserving the passenger seat for herbert.

"dude, i can't believe he actually wants to go with us," you commented as you leaned forward between the two front seats.

he shrugged, "me neither. christmas miracle, i suppose."

you laughed, "yeah, i guess so."

not long after initially getting in the car, herbert made his way from your front porch and into the passenger seat.

he shot you a confused look, "why are you in the back ?"

you smiled, "it's a special occasion ! it's not everyday herbert west wants to hangout with us without us pleading on our hands and knees first."

he scoffed, "i'm sorry i'm busy trying to have a scientific breakthrough."

you laughed in response, causing him to glare at you.

dan snickered as he started up the car, "alright you two, settle down. buckle up and let's get going."

you stared down at your cup of hot chocolate and smiled, your hands wrapping around the mug in an effort to warm them up.

from beside you in your booth seat, herbert was peeling back the lids of creamer cups and pouring them into his mug of black coffee. you watched as he poured them in and stirred with his spoon before opting to steal his empty cups.

he raised an eyebrow at you as he watched you proceed to try and stack them in a tower. "what are you doing ?"

you smiled at him, "what does it look like i'm doing ? i'm making a coffee creamer tower."

he shook his head, smiling slightly as he watched you work, only for you to knock it all down and begin rearranging them in a different pattern.

dan tapped his fingers against the table as he stared out the window.

satisfied with your creation of a small creamer cup pyramid, you, too, glanced out the window to see if what he was looking at was any more interesting than what you were doing.

the sky was nearly pitch black if not for the stars scattered against it. bright colorful lights illuminated the town's various lamp posts as snow slowly floated down from the sky, creating a white blanket on the ground. there wasn't a soul in sight.

"y'all ready to order ?"

you turned your attention from the window to the source of the voice. an older woman stood at the end of your booth, notepad in hand. she smiled at the three of you warmly, and you couldn't help but smile back.

dan turned towards her and nodded, "mhm, i would like the pancakes, please."

she scribbled something on her notepad, "would you like bacon or sausage with that and how do you want your eggs ?"

dan pressed his index finger to his chin in thought, "bacon and.... sunny side up, please."

she nodded, "sure thing. and for you ?"

she pointed her pen at herbert, snapping him out of his daze, "oh- um... french toast will be fine."

she hummed, scribbling his order down as well, "it comes with mixed berries consisting of blackberries, blueberries, and raspberries, is that alright ?"

he nodded, "that's fine."

"you got it. and for you ?" she asked you.

"hmm... i'll have the [favorite diner food], please."

she nodded, jotting it down before putting the notepad in her apron, "sure thing. i'll be back with your food shortly."

and with that she left the three of you to soak up the atmosphere once more.

dan sipped his diet coke through the white and red striped bendy straw before leaning back in the booth, "so how's your studies in [major] going, [name] ?"

you huffed, propping your arm up on the table to lean your face on your palm, "it's going. nothing too exciting happening but i can't complain. it could be worse. what about you guys ? make any new frankenstein's monsters to hide from halsey ?"

herbert narrowed his eyes at you, "we're in public."

you rolled your eyes, "like anyone knows what we're even talking about.... a matter of fact..." you did a quick glance around the diner, "there's no one here aside from us. loosen up, herb." you nudged his side with your elbow, causing him to swat you away, scrunching up his nose at the horrid nickname.

"don't call me that... and if you must know... we are now preparing to receive more parts for our next creation. we have to have everything ready and perfect beforehand." he finished his sentence with a sip of his coffee, sighing through closed lips.

dan placed his head on his palm, "we went to the morgue a few days ago and found some parts that may be useful. we'll see, though."

you nodded along, "cool."

dan stared down at his diet coke, watching the bubbles float to the top, "mhm."

a silence fell between the three of you, dan pushing his ice around with his straw, herbert leaning back in the booth seat with his eyes closed and you staring out the window. it was a comfortable silence as you enjoyed their company.

you could never admit it to herbert due to the way he'd jab at you about it (maybe you could admit it to dan, as he was better with feelings) but you enjoyed the moments of peace between the three of you. you enjoyed sitting with them in silence and feeling their warm presence. you enjoyed casually talking in quiet whispers with them. you enjoyed seeing them in a rare state of peace and relaxation, a sight that was rare when they were constantly trying to bring back the dead. you enjoyed being roommates with them.
