I can feel the trolls brain rot calling out to me, pulling me back under like a siren calls to a sailor. I really, really want to roleplay trolls man, the hyperfixation demands it lmao. If anyone on this beautiful website would be interested, please reach out? I’m fine with ocxcanon, considering the brainrot has gotten to me so much that I’ve actually made an oc for John Dory. I’ve got a story thought out and everything for them, and would love to it if someone was willing to play JD for my OC! And I’m down for canon x canon too. Would loveeeee some Floydx riff, or something but I’m down to talk ships. I mostly only play mxm tho. I’m down with nsfw eventually but would love to establish plots and stuff. I just read that Donald Trump and his circus took down a website called reproductiverights.gov
This was a website to help women learn about their reproductive rights in the US and to find health care.

KOSA'S BACK
I'm not going to leave this unmentioned as the news isn't doing enough to warn people. The short of it is, the bill which disguises itself as a means to make the web safer was written by The Heritage Foundation to give the FTC full authority on what's deemed safe on the web. Under the new administration, it will be used to censor LGBT content. We know this was the point, as its proponents have shared this exact plan. It can still be beaten if called and emailed their senators, making it clear what harm the bill will do I'll link pages that can give you a line to your lawmakers, a way to write to them, and also a petition to sign.. The former only takes two minutes, and the latter has a pre-written script if you need it. This is more than important enough for your time. Even if you're in a red state, some conservatives oppose this bill beleive it will silence conservative voices too, so if you think that line of reasoning would work better on them, go for it!

Hey everyone, KOSA just passed in senate. This is not good and they are pressuring the house to pass it. Please make sure to contact your house representatives.

For those who don't know this is a trojan horse bill that will hurt the LGBT+ and will cause mass wide censorship on the internet. This is a HUGE deal.
I know it's tiring to always contact representatives, but if KOSA passes, a lot of bad things will befall the internet and very likely our free speech.
For those of you thinking this is only a USA issue, it's not. It'll affect all US run websites. So please help by spreading the word.
the kids online safety act passed the u.s. senate.
long story short (for anyone who hadn't heard of this before) the kids online safety act, aka kosa, is a bill that will censor online content and resources for lgbtq+ matters, reproductive healthcare, activism (INCLUDING PALESTINE AND LIKELY OTHER CRISES GOING ON LIKE IN CONGO OR SUDAN), mental health, etc. everywhere--its effects likely won't be contained to just america.
today, july 30th, 2024, the senate passed it 91-3. it has officially moved to the house of representatives.
is this a pretty massive setback? yes. do you have every right to be scared, sad, angry, or whatever else about this happening? absolutely. but should you give up hope completely? NO!
even though kosa passed the senate, the house is on break/august recess at the moment. we have around an entire month to get emails, calls, and faxes in to house reps, maybe more depending on when they decide to vote on it.
should it pass the house and get signed into law, we still have a whole 18 months before it actually goes into effect. this is plenty of time for digital rights orgs (e.g. fight for the future, the electronic frontier foundation) and other groups that oppose it to file a lawsuit against it. even if, worst-case scenario, it flies through the house immediately after the recess ends, we can still fight this up to march 2026.
so, yes, remember what's at stake here, but also remember that it's not over yet. we lost a battle, not the war.

In the unlikely event my posts reach anyone, this is for those of you who struggle with long posts:
KOSA (The Kids Online Safety Act) is NOT a good thing.
Anything KOSA hasn't approved will be removed, including posts about mental health, LGBTQ+, etc
You will no longer be anonymous.
You can be traced.
Your parents will have full control.
KOSA will have full control.
KOSA is the internet's Big Brother and it CANNOT be allowed to happen.
Due to the continued progression of the KOSA bill I would like to remind everyone, that this message reaches, that this is an over reach of government power. The constitution lines out that our government has no right to censor media. This bill has been proven by media outlets and its very own creator to violate the constitution’s first amendment, and the creator has stated that it is meant to be a direct attack on the queer community and media. This attack on our rights should meet a swift end as I hope we as the forces of tumblr can rally and vote to kill the bill on March 13th. If we stand idlely by and allow this to base our government will become more ballsy and I fear that eventually we may start to lose more of our rights as citizens. And so I shall say that it is in the constitution that if our government over reaches their power and does stuff like this we as citizen have the power to reinforce our rights and fight back against the government.

Hey, so, uh…
KOSA literally violates the First Amendment freedoms. If this is passed, then that means the Constitution and Bill of Rights are basically void, because Congress are ignoring them. THATS A PROBLEM
As a teen myself, it pisses me off. I wish for anarchy, with everything the US government has been doing, from supporting Israhell to this bullshit.
Please, do what you can to prevent this from getting passed. It violates everyone’s rights in the US, and if it gets passed, then we’re back to where we started; a monarchy. Just with far too many people.
I cannot stress enough how dangerous KOSA is.
killing safe spaces endangers people's lives. many minors and people in marginalized groups losing online friends and spaces can and will kill many people's happiness and in the worst case, the will to live.
I personally keep going because of my online friends. I will lose them if KOSA passes.
this is the same case for many minors (and adults) online.
censoring sexual health will be terrible for many. if there are people out there having sex without knowing the proper safety precautions to take to prevent injury/illness, it will be massively horrific.
all outcry for a ceasefire in Palestine and activism will be censored to oblivion.
if there are people who live in unsafe households, they might never be able to find safety until they become adults, which is far too late.
KOSA is a sick attempt to make the internet a place where there are few ways to be safe.
stop KOSA. it will literally save fucking lives.
sign petitions to stop it. please. spread awareness.

my kosa post where I was just complaining is now my most popular post and I’ve deleted it now bc I’m sick of it clogging my notifs but also it included some misinformation. looking back I don’t believe it says anywhere in the bill that kosa will make the internet require ID before use. it’s still an awful bill rife with censorship shit but do your research kids. sorry for fearmongering, but do still rally against the bill as there will still be mass amounts of censorship and breaches of privacy!!
