So yeah, this is why I was thinking so much about daemons. I wasn't actually planning to write anything in this 'verse, I just wanted to think about what everyone's daemons would be, but then I started thinking abbout how and when they settled, and I thought about Sanji and all his trauma and I thought 'huh, okay, how would having a daemon make it worse?' And then I wrote this.
Ever since Sanji can remember, he’s always been weaker than his brothers. At this point, it’s not a surprise, but it never stops hurting. He can’t run as far or as fast as they do, he can’t take a hit like they do, he can’t fight as well or for as long as they do. He can’t send his daemon as far away as they can.
Every day, Father makes them practice. Every day, Ichiju, Niju, and Yonju diseappear over the horizon as birds or fish or flying insects. Every day, Sanji throws himself into the ocean after Sanju before she’s even reached the next snail-ship.
And every day, he lasts a few seconds less before the pain becomes unbearable.
He cries to Mama about it often. She clucks her tongue at him and wipes his tears from his cheeks with her thumbs, and then pinches his cheeks with a smile. “There’s nothing wrong with you,” she tells him firmly.
“But,” Sanji sniffles, “everyone else can do it. Even you.” He knows this because Voltaire often comes to sit with him when he’s hiding in his room, and maybe it’s not over-the-horizon far from Mama’s room in the infirmary, but it’s still all the way on the other side of the flagship, and Sanji and Sanju can’t manage even a fraction of that.
For a moment, Mama’s smile takes on a strangely sharp edge. “I didn’t used to,” she tells him softly.
“Besides,” Voltaire adds, voice gone wicked as he eels up Sora’s arm so he can stage-whisper into Sanji’s ear, “have you ever seen Legata go all that far from Judge’s side?” Sanji twists his head around to stare at him, utterly agog at the notion that Judge might be anything less than terrifyingly capable at anything and everything. Voltaire just cocks his head in challenge, mottled dark brown skin glistening under the harsh lights of the infirmary.
“Of course Father can do it!” Sanju protests, daring to uncurl from the little ball of pale pink shell she’s made of herself in Sanji’s lap.
“Whether he can or not,” Mama says, reaching up to smooth Sanji’s hair down and trying to tuck his fringe behind his ear, “doesn’t mean you have to. You’re perfect just as you are, baby.” His hair falls back in front of his eye, and he puffs a little laugh that makes Mama grin at him.
Sanji’s smile falls, though, the moment of humour not enough to distract him from his worries. “We keep getting worse, though,” he complains.
Mama closes her eyes, takes a breath, and then leans in and kisses Sanji on the top of his head, before bundling him up and onto her lap. Sanju squeaks and turns into a squirrel to scramble up Sanji’s shirt and onto his shoulder, to avoid any risk of getting squashed between them. “There’s nothing wrong with wanting to keep your heart close,” she tells him, cuddling him aggressively, “all snug and safe, like this!”
Sanji laughs outright, and hugs her back as best he can.
---
He remembers her words, later, when he’s on that godforsaken rock. He and Sanju try again, to get more than a handful of feet away from each other, to reach the ocean, to find food. They don’t manage. He lies there on the barren rock with Sanju a quivering bundle of fur in his arms, sobbing with a desperation that still hasn’t managed to overcome the vice that clamps down around his chest any time she gets too far away from him.
His mother was wrong. She was wrong, he’s weak, and he’s going to die because he’s too needy and pathetic, just like Father said. “I don’t want to,” Sanju cries into his chest, butting her head up against his chin and whimpering. “Don’t make me, I don’t want to-!”
“We won’t,” Sanji says, determinedly. “There’s somewhere else we can get food around here.”
Except there isn’t. All he finds on the other side of the island is a bag of things he can’t eat and an old man who ate his own leg because he’d already given Sanji all the food. Sanji, who’d been willing to take even more food from him, just to feed himself.
The horror is almost entirely self-directed.
He goes back to his side of the island and thinks. His father was wrong. It isn’t just that Sanji isn’t capable of being what his father wanted, but he doesn’t want to be the sort of person who would hurt other people and take what they have just because he wants it. He doesn’t like the person hunger turns him into.
But that doesn’t mean Mama was right. Being weak and needy and depending on other’s kindness without giving anything back is just as selfish as taking things they didn’t offer. Sometimes, there is something wrong with keeping your heart close, when tearing off a piece of yourself can save someone else.
He looks at Sanju, and Sanju looks back, long ears twitching. “Okay,” she says quietly, and turns to the edge of the island again. She bounds off the edge, shifting into a mottled black and grey bird with a hooked beak as she goes.
It twinges in his chest almost immediately after she drops out of sight. Lurches, clenches, aches. He grits his teeth, screws his eyes shut, clenches his fists against the rock, and holds himself tense and still as it strains and hurts and tears. They can do this. They can.
It’s not as hard as cutting his own leg off.
A whimper slips out of his throat despite his best efforts.
Then a sob.
A cry.
A scream.
He thinks, if he’d had anything at all in his stomach, he’d have thrown up. His throat is convulsing like it’s thinking about trying anyway. There are hands on him, grabbing him roughly, shaking him, and Sanji’s in too much pain to think rationally. He cries and begs and apologises again and again. He’ll do better next time, he will, he promises! It hurts but he can put up with it, he can be strong, he can.
The hands turn gentle.
The pain fades.
The person holding him gasps.
Sanji picks up his head from a very bony shoulder, and sees Sanju perched awkwardly on one of the strange lumpy rocks that litter this island, a thin little silver fish clasped in her beak. She hops closer, and drops it on the stone beside the old man’s severed leg, where it wiggles uselessly in its death throes.
“Fucking hell, kid,” the old man grumbles, but he takes the fish.
And then tears it in half and offers one half to Sanji!
Sanji is too hungry to refuse, but it steels his resolve – their resolve – and Sanju takes flight again, diving back down to the ocean. It hurts just as bad as the first time, and Sanji only avoids throwing the fish right back up again by sheer desperation. And maybe, a little bit, because the old man holds him tucked against his bony ribcage and lets him sob into his shoulder without a word of complaint
In fact, his daemon leans over his shoulder and huffs at Sanji’s head with enough force that it ruffles his hair and almost feels like a caress. She’s so big, and even as worn thin as she is, with her person so close to death, she still radiates warmth. Sanji doesn’t know if it’s real warmth or soul-warmth, but either way, it doesn’t matter. Especially not when she’s crooning comforting nonsense and unfamiliar lullabies at him in her low, rich voice. It sounds nothing like Mama, but it reminds him of her a little bit anyway.

They find their feet at the Baratie. They find a purpose that fits them, that they can achieve, and while he’s a demanding teacher, Zeff never asks more of them than they can give. It’s freeing in a way Sanji has never known before, and Sanju takes to trying bigger and bigger shapes with bright-eyed mischief. Or sometimes, with teeth-bared snarling, when the customers decide to be assholes. Sanji is well past the days that he’d take that kind of shit lying down. No, these days he snarls back, and kicks heads in when the snarling doesn’t warn the bastards off, just like Zeff taught him.
These days, though, most daemons will cower in front of Sanju’s bared teeth, whether she’s a wolf or a lioness or a bear, and their people will back away from a teenager with a daemon that big. Sanji almost mourns those opportunities to start a fight, but he supposes Zeff must appreciate the lack of repair bills.
When they head back into the kitchen, Sanju usually turns back into something small, just to keep out of the way of the bustling and busy cooks. Or, at least, smaller. Neither of them are all that comfortable making themselves too small anymore; it leaves an unpleasant taste on the back of their tongue. Lately she’s been draping herself over his shoulders as some kind of rosetted cat.
So when she doesn’t leap up onto his back as they shove through the doors into the kitchen, a napkin pressed to the gash a customer managed to open up across his cheek, Sanji notices. When she dodges out of the way of a hollering Carne instead of changing to something smaller, she notices, too. They pause to stare at each other.
She’s still a cat, large and lithe and elegant, covered in spots, with a dark mantle over her neck and shoulders that turns into three dark stripes down along her spine. There are two dark tear-trails either side of her muzzle, too, and she blinks large amber eyes up at him. Sanji can’t help but smile, because she’s beautiful. A purr rumbles up in her throat, and she head-butts him in the stomach, letting him card his fingers into the lengthening fur at the back of her neck.
It feels… oddly vindicating, that she’s settled into such a fierce daemon, even if a part of him wishes he didn’t care about that anymore. All his childhood, everyone except his mother had mocked and scorned the way Sanju prefered smaller forms, and now look at her.
Not everyone else is as happy as they are at her settled form, however. It only takes a few days for it to become an issue.
“Get your fucking daemon out of the way!” Patty shrieks, sprawled out across a counter in his efforts to save the tray he was carrying when he stumbled trying not to trip directly over Sanju. She’s pressed flat against the back of Sanji’s legs, hissing back at Patty.
“She was out of the way!” Sanji snaps back, hands not pausing in their work chopping up a whole pile of vegetables. “Don’t blame her because you weren’t looking where you were fucking going!”
“I shouldn’t have to be keeping an eye out for rogue daemons! She should be in the cubby with all the other large daemons!” Patty scolds, shaking a fist at Sanji, who recoils, knife stilling.
He’s not wrong, is the thing. The kitchen would be utterly unfunctional if everyone with a large daemon let them dog their heels the way Sanju does Sanji’s. So Zeff – admittedly one of the worst cases, Sulia is huge– had a side room built just off the kitchen to allow the daemons to stay near enough to their people without getting underfoot in the kitchen.
Sanji looks over at the open archway, where he can see Sulia’s tail fwaping irritably at the floor. It’s a good twenty feet away from the far side of the kitchen, and that’s… too far. Sanji can feel all his muscles winding tight just at the thought. Sanju presses even more firmly into his legs, and he looks down at her, swallowing. They should-
“Patty! If that soup goes cold because you were lollygagging, I’ll kick you overbaord!” Zeff roars, and Patty yelps and hurries off. Sanji goes back to his own chopping, not sure how he’s feeling, because he’s pretty sure the fact that Patty got scolded but he didn’t was Zeff’s way of coming down on Sanji’s side of that little argument, but he still feels like he shouldn’t be getting away with breaking the rules of the kitchen like that, when he could-
A peg-leg connects solidly with his hip, and he yelps out a startled curse. “Don’t even think about it, Li’l Eggplant,” Zeff growls as he stomps past, directing a glower down at Sanju, too. “I’ll have Sulia chase you out if you set one paw in that cubby, and she’s still bigger than you are.”
“Fine,” Sanji grouses, feigning irritation as if they both can’t hear Sanju purring up a storm.

Momo's snakes mirror her true feelings, so when she feels flustered or embarrassed the little buggers will get themselves tangled up. (More often than not, Okarun is the cause of this.)
Lucky for her, Okarun is always happy to help gently untangle the little rascals, who pepper his hand with little kisses in thanks, much to Momo's horror(delight).
Sanji looking at the beautiful new grand piano and playing out a lazy tune from his childhood. He didn't sit down to play, just casually, one hand in pocket, singular notes. Much to his surprise, Brook called for him, saying something along the lines of "Oh how wonderful, you play, play some more!"
Sanji denied playing. Saying it was just that his mother used to play and this was one of her favorite songs. He learned to play at the Baratie because he felt the lyrics and melody got him closer to her.
Now Brook was even more insistent on Sanji playing the song. And finally, he obliged. He sat down and started playing the beginning of the most heart-wrenchingly sad song Brook had heard. He quickly picked up on the song and grabbed his violin. The melody filled the ship, the rest of the crew gathered one by one around the door. But no one wanted to interrupt so they just sat there, listening behind the closed door.
And then Sanji started singing something in a foreign language. No one really knew what it was about but it sounded so solemn and melancholic that they could all guess it wouldn't be appropriate to ask.

Okay okay hear me out: everyone knows baratie. Baratie is famous across all the blues and grandline for their amazing food, crazy staff and the fact theyre basicly the only seafarring restaurant (others have tried but failed cause it was simply to wild for them)
so! Everyone from warlords to top bountys to admiral goes there once in a while to eat and it also becomes a neutral ground enforced by the staff
Who's the one serving most of these dangerous powerful people? Kid sanji, tiny eggplant. And they enjoy the bratty kid serving them that most people actually ask for him. They teach him a few things as well because honestly hes their nephew at that point
So when he joins the strawhat he seemingly knows almost everyone they come across much to the confusion of his nakama and the regualar baratie guests are just hoping they don't get banner for life by fighting sanji
Congrats! Nephew!Sanji is now a thing and he has been adopted by the ENTIRE world...mostly. This is so fucking funny to me.
Sanji just wants to be cooking, he's like twelve when the head waiter comes back and says someone is asking for Sanji to wait on them. Sanji just groans and curses that he's busy but Zeff kicks him out so he's pouting the whole way to the table. First it's the Admirals and Vice Admirals. Then individual Warlords. Pirates with bounties higher than the amount of money Sanji will ever see in his life.
When Sanji kicks unruly guests some will correct his posture. Some will pat his shoulder or ruffle his hair. Sanji grumbles the entire time every time it happens until he sets sail. Zeff gets letters routinely from the people Sanji runs into, not from Sanji himself. The crew always looks at Sanji with questioning looks every time someone knows him.
Like Garp. Or Crocus. Crocodile. Rayleigh. After the time skip Sanji thinks he's free of running into people who know him but finds that almost all the supernovas have eaten at Baratie at some point while he was there and he wants to scream.
Zeff has a cork board in his office divided straight down the middle, one side has the letters of those no longer permitted to eat at Baratie the other has the letters of those who can. Luffy's poster is split in half and has a piece pinned to each side but Zoro's is firmly on the "not allowed" side after how much time the crew spent scrubbing his blood off the deck.
Okay this is so random but Zeff and Sanji getting saved by FREAKING Kaido out of all people and he gives them permission to have their restaurant but declares Sanji as his second son and basically Sanji is the back up heir in case Yamato is still having his Oden phrase when they're both adults. I feel like Sanji is extremely protective of his big brother because Yamato while extremely Standish off towards Sanji at first, the duo do get along and Sanji actually gets Kaido to chill with Yamato by bringing up how his father doing that with him didn't work or something. Sanji keeps in contact with Yamtao and Kaido after he and Zeff are able to get their restaurant. He still joins the Strawhats and the story plays out basically the same with Sanji being more ruthless towards his enemies. However when they meets Ace in Alabasta, he's like This guy is the one who wants to kill my dad and bone my brother and is on guard the whole time. But he does soften up to Ace. He ends up having Kaido save Ace and Whitebeard by saying that Ace would be better to grow stronger and maybe he would be the one who could be the opponent that Kaido has been waiting for but Luffy still feels useless because he couldn't save his brother by himself. And then they all train for two years.
Sanji meets Sabo and K during the two years and they become a throuple. Sabo wanted to thank Sanji for helping to save Ace and suddenly they're flirting and now Sabo has a girlfriend and a boyfriend.
Doflamingo recognizes Sanji as Kaido's younger son and freaks out and runs away from the Sunny because he's not about to give Kaido a legit reason to hunt him down.
WCI happens differently because Big Mom also Sanji as recognizes Kaido's younger son and it's Reiju who's being forced to marry one of Big Mom's children (ethier Katakuri or Bruelle) but Sanji has to attend as a guest to represent Kaido which is when the Strawhats finds out that he's Kaido's adopted son. And he feels like he doesn't belong with them anymore. Luffy quickly makes sure that Sanji knows that he absolutely belongs with them. Also Big Mom genuinely wants an alliance with Germa here. Sanji wants his sister to be Free.
Finally in Wano, Yamato and Ace reunite first and then Sanji reunites with Yamato and is extremely angry towards Ace for dating Yamato Sanji's big brother and when Zoro points out that he's dating Sabo, Sanji claims that it's 100% different.
Okay so that's terrifying. Imagine Kaido rolling up, taking them to Wano, and then just dealing with that. Sanji has so much trauma and then just dealing with Yamato being standoffish and peak Oden phase and Kaido treating him like Judge treated him? Yeah Sanji's not having a great time. Sanji is straight up suffering and you add in Queen? Everyone knows but Kaido isn't letting Queen do anything. Yet. There's a threat of it but like with Yamato's cuffs which is wild. Yamato is standoffish towards the newcomers, the child especially. Sanji is avoiding him, he's loud and he doesn't him and Sanji already knows what happens when kids don't like him. It's this weird dynamic for a while when they first arrive. It's this weird and daunting revelation when Sanji starts feeding Yamato that he's just this kid like him in a shitty situation neither of them want to be in but are forced to be in. Also the food Sanji and Zeff make is so fucking good and Yamato feels like crying every time he eats their food.
They grow up together for a while. They're all a little more comfortable with each other and Sanji talks to Kaido about his dad, what he did to him and how it doesn't help anything to constantly be antagonistic. It makes things worse actually, Sanji should know because his dad had a funeral for him despite not being able to kill him and Kaido listens intently and earnestly which is very unusual because he drinks so much and is rarely sober and doesn't listen to things he doesn't want to hear. He adopts Sanji by saying if Sanji ever needs killed it won't be a problem for him, he's not weak like the King of Germa. Sanji nods and it feels like a weight that settled in his chest has been weirdly Iifted. He feels freer despite being captive, even more so after Sanji and Zeff head to the East Blue to open Baratie. Sanji keeps writing letters to Yamato, keeping in touch with his older brother and sends sparsely to Kaido who responds even less than Sanji sends. All Sanji knows if he's needed he has to go back, to rule Wano in his adopted father's stead because that's part of his deal with cooking at Baratie and being the second son of Kaido.
Not that he thinks Yamato would be a bad ruler it's just the whole Oden thing and Kaido being Kaido about it. Yamato eventually writes about meeting Ace and his crew, the fight and the vivre card and Otama, they admits to liking Ace a lot. Sanji writes back about the warlords, the East Blue, other pirates and the Navy. Sanji is also known for ruthlessly kicking people out of Baratie. Literally. If they drown, they drown, everyone knows they technically are Beast Pirates even if they don't fly the flag. Still, when the Luffy and the others show up Zeff tells him to leave and Sanji does. He smirks at the fishmen to take back Cocoyashi. He probably killed a few too many to stay under the radar but Kaido would not want anything else from him. He still writes to Yamato and when he meets Ace he gets to listen to everything Yamato didn't say, which he regrets. Let it be known he regrets it. Ace is fucking WHIPPED for his older brother and it's gross. Sanji has never seen love or adoration like that and he rolls his eyes and gags. Ace playfully shoves his shoulder and says he'll understand one day, the bark of disbelieving laughter is enough to make Ace frown at him. They go their separate ways and Sanji keeps getting closer to his crew even as it grows. Nobody recognizes him as the second heir to Kaido, which he's thankful for. He lets Robin read some of his letters to and from Yamato, he makes desserts from Wano that delight Chopper. He barbeques with Franky and lets Luffy climb him and cling to him after breaking his back and takes care of Nami's trees.
So when they're separated on Sabaody, when they're on the way to the execution out of pure desperation calls Kaido and begs him to help Luffy save his brother. And maybe he accidentally kicks a few Okama a little too hard. Still, when he meets Ivankov he finds out Kaido did help his captain, as did King. They were a big enough distraction to pull most of the attention to them and save Ace. Both still heavily injured but it's good. They're safe. Sanji spends the first few weeks training when he's accosted by a man in a top hat and suit and a girl racing after him trying to get him to stop and Sanji reflexively kicks the guy away. He looks dazed and confused at Sanji and Sanji is being cautious. That's it. Just cautious. Iva is chastising them for scaring the boy and they're apologizing rapidly and it's so fast Sanji doesn't understand it. He's just staring at them and Koala eventually stops as Iva inches closer and just claps their hands around Sanji's waist which makes Sabo stutter to a stop and have his nose start bleeding. Koala runs away, bright red and stammering an excuse. She's gone. She has fully abandoned Sabo and Iva is losing it. Sanji is looking at the man whose nose is just pouring blood and looking at Iva who just pinches the dress a little tighter on his waist before Sabo just fucking bolts away. Sanji doesn't know how to react to that so he just shoves Iva off and goes back to training.
It's a couple weeks later when the two revolutionaries come back and start flirting with him in full force, which confuses Sanji. A, because they're draping over each other and using sweet words and touches on him. And B, who the fuck would look at Sanji and decide they wanted him? Sanji is pretty sure Zeff and Kaido only kept him out of some sick sort of obligation, which is laughable. Kaido feels no obligation to his own blood child and is actively trying to take himself out and it's not working. Still, Sabo and Koala are flirting with him and Sanji is smoking his cigarettes while watching them, they're going all in. They are petting his arms and hands, lighting his cigarettes, calling him pretty. Sanji is repaying the kindness but damn. They're down bad for the cook, and Sanji agrees to a couple of dates with them. They go well and Sanji thinks it'll stop but then they keep going out and Sanji watches them kiss and then they'll kiss him and wow. Okay. He's also sold. He loves this and he thinks he's starting to love them towards the end of his training. He doesn't say it, wants to give it time. Even if Sabo and Koala are staying with him whenever they're in Kamabaka, they're adults, no one asks but the deliveries Sanji gets are well meaning and used. Kamabaka is nothing if not free, in more ways than one. They're goodbyes are sweet and long and they're so sweet. Sanji promises to write them.
And he does when he sets off again with his crew and Ace now, back to writing Yamato and now Sabo and Koala as well. His crew notices but Sanji mentions he started dating a couple of people and no one fucking believes him. Even when they pick up Law, he doesn't believe it. Then when they're in Dressrosa Sanji keeps getting looks from the members of the Donquixote family. Law is flabbergasted to show up when Sanji is strung up by Doflamingo and is back tracking quickly. No apologies or anything but Sanji is released and Law sends them off. When Law and Luffy demands answers for Doflamingo's cowardice he just starts laughing at them, they don't know who they're traveling them. He's not about to piss of Kaido for fileting the heir to the Beast Pirates, or one of them. Law and Luffy don't believe him at all and then kick his ass. Sabo and Koala meet everyone after when they're in the cabin. Sabo is happy to meet most of the crew and Koala is whining about Sanji not being there. When Zoro, boldly and mildly scared, about why Luffy's brother and his girlfriend are asking for the shit-cook.
They're the ones dating him. Law has absolutely lost it. He's not with it. Zoro is staring at the ceiling in wonder as Robin giggles about it. Sabo thanks them for watching after Luffy and Sanji, ruffles Luffy's hair, then they dip. Law just wants peace from this damned crew and he is not getting it, especially as Ace is confused his dead brother isn't dead and is dating the cook. They head off to Zou to meet up with the other half the crew and then they find out the Cook is gone. Kidnapped by someone and Nami is crying because they couldn't stop it. Sanji meanwhile is sitting with his family that he hasn't seen in years to prepare for his sister's wedding. Linlin had said Sanji can't marry her child and the Vinsmokes don't know why. Until it's stated he's there as on behalf of another emperor, Kaido. It isn't until the wedding is ruined by the rescue team, the assassinations fooled by his crew and some minks that Sanji hesitates going back.
"You're going to help us kick Kaido's ass right?" Luffy asks.
"Well yeah, he might be my dad, but he's still a piece of shit. Wano doesn't deserve him." Sanji says like it's obvious. "I just don't think I deserve to be on the crew."
"You're my cook, nothing's changed." Luffy assures. Sanji nods and Nami hugs him. "Also, Ace says you're dating Sabo?"
"And Koala." Sanji nods. Luffy bursts into laughter as Nami and the others look confused. Luffy says Sanji is dating his brother and his girlfriend, but he and Ace thought that Sabo was dead. Sanji is now realizing he's dating Luffy's brother. He's not happy Sabo didn't tell him but he'll deal with that later. When they make it to Wano they're separated, but Luffy winds up with Ace and Otama, who is climbing all over his older brother. Luffy says not to worry he brought Sanji with him, that he's willing to help the fight.
"Oh, Kaido's son?" Otama asks. "He hasn't been back in so long, I've only ever heard stories about him."
"He's one of the best people I've ever met, kind to his core." Ace smiles.
"Really? He's so cool from what I've heard!" Otama yells. "Yamato tells us all about Sanji's travels, he sends letters here!"
"Wait, Sanji writes letters?" Luffy asks.
"Well, since nothing gets into or out of Wano, the letters are the only exception." Otama explains.
"Oh, Sanji never mentioned those." Luffy says. Still things carry on, mostly as normal. Everyone talks about Sanji being Kaido's son as he looks at them all with just this defeated look. Most of everyone is staring at him like he's insane. He brings up that everyone should have known. Law is mumbling to himself about Doflamingo and everything. Hiyori is demanding answers about Kaido from him and Sanji is saying he doesn't know shit and that he was only allowed to leave with like the promise if he died and Yamato wasn't fit he would come back. But personally he would like to see Queen dead, he doesn't care what happens to King. He wants Yamato to experience freedom though, like he has. Hiyori looks pissed, rightfully so, but it still hangs in the air they were traveling with Kaido's youngest.
During the raid Ace and Luffy run into Yamato. Ace is wrapped in Yamato's arms as the taller smiles down at him. Luffy asks if he's Sanji's older sibling and Yamato says they are. Luffy laughs because yeah, he is Sanji's bigger sibling is BIGGER. Yamato is huge and strong as they make their way through Onigashima. Sanji is doing his level best with Queen and the raid suit he did get. Like it's all still following and then after the raid, Yamato finds Sanji for the first time and just grips their little brother to them and holds him.
It's been years. Years since they've seen each other, years since they've hugged, years since they've been safe in Wano. Ace is laughing at them, even if Sanji says to fuck off, he's still pissed at him for dating Yamato, kind off, not really.
"Don't you date Sabo and Koala? Wasn't that what I heard in Dressrosa?" Zoro deadpans.
"I don't know, I wasn't there. Also I don't see how that matters." Sanji argues.
"I can't believe you guys date each other's siblings." Nami sighs.
"Only would our crew manage this." Usopp sighs along.
"That's different, we have a girlfriend too." Sanji says. Yamato laughs loud and boisterous and free.
I have a headcanon that Sanji struggles with wanting/asking for non-sexual intimacy from Zoro. So if he's having a rough day or just wants to be held by the man he loves he'll initiate sex in order to feel that connection, regardless of whether he's actually in the mood. But Zoro's gotten unnervingly good at telling when he's doing this and redirecting to give him what he actually needs in that moment.

Okarun was attacked first after they left the Arcade, a giant snarling shadow slammed into him and dragged him away into the brush. Okarun's pained cry and the big splatter of blood he left behind is enough to send Momo into a panic.
She's so focused on getting to Okarun that she doesn't sense the old vampire looming behind her. it's cold hands dart out and snatch her in seconds, tilting her neck before painfully digging it's teeth in her flesh.
Momo can feel her blood being drained away, and no matter how much she struggles, she cannot focus enough to throw the monster off her. Knowing she doesn't have much time left, and honestly kind of pissed off, she uses the last of her strength to surge forward and bite the vampire's neck.
The action catches the vampire off guard, who drops her before clutching the bloodied wound on it's neck in shock. Using the moment to her advantage, Momo uproots a light-pole and impales the vampire into the building behind them before darting off after Okarun.
The bloodloss is affecting her badly, and she's stumbling more than she is running, but she doesn't need to go far when she finds Okarun being pinned to the ground by a giant beast. It's jaws are snapped shut on his shoulder and god, there is so much blood...
She uproots the biggest tree near her and slams it into the monster, who wails in agony before thankfully running off. With black dots in her vision, Momo tries her best to wrap Okarun's shoulder, which looks so bad, and he's not waking up- !
That was the last thing Momo remembers before passing out. Lucky for her, she and Okarun are found moments later by Rokuro, who felt Momo's psychic distress and came over to investigate. He takes them back home where they are able to recover.
(Since Momo drank the old vampires blood when she bite him, she accidentally fulfilled the requirement to become a vampire herself. Now the sun is WAY too bright, She craves blood and can longer taste regular food, and her hearing is WAY too good, which means LOTS of headaches!
One cool thing she can do though, is climb up walls and stand upside down from the ceiling just like Spiderman. Oh, and she's got SUPER ninja stealth now too!)
(When full, Momo looks mostly human, (besides her pointed ears and slightly sharper teeth.) but when she starts to get hungry again, her human features will fade, and she'll becoming more ghoulish and monstrous looking. She does NOT like to be seen like this.)
(Oki is the plush Okarun won for Momo at the Arcade before they were attacked. Momo adores it.)
(Momo's hair and nails grow unnaturally fast now, so she has long hair most often)
Un aplauso para esa parejita que forzamos a que estén juntos 🗣️‼️huuuuuu...☝️✨😍xd son hermosos
Katara being in the Fire Nation means Fire Nation citizens see orca whales swimming freely in the harbor outside of Caldera for the first time in a century, responding to a master waterbender.
katara (about azula): “i can fix her” this “i can make her worse” that, well maybe she can make ME worse. ever think about that
Your zutara fanfics honestly give me life, they’re so beautiful!!!
I see posts where ppl often criticise zutara, as they can’t see katara wanting to leave her tribe and becoming Fire Lady, and I was curious how you interpret this scenario? No hate just genuinely curious 😊😊
Hello, and thank you!
I'm a firm believer that you can make a character do anything without it feeling OoC as long as you've got a solid base. Basically—anything is possible as long as it feels natural in the story.
I never felt like Katara becoming Fire Lady (or Queen Consort, or Lady of the Two Lands, or whatever you wish to call her) would mean leaving her Tribe behind. Her roots are strong and alive in everything she does. She's Master Katara of the Southern Water Tribe, and she'll remain as such no matter who she marries or what title she carries.
I'm not saying it would be easy. I'm saying Katara's stubborn and isn't willing to give up when she's fighting for something she wants. If she truly wishes to stand by Zuko's side, then woe betide whoever dares say she can't do it.
Being in a relationship is hard. Ruling over a broken nation you were once targeted by is even harder. But I can't really see anyone else taking up the challenge and doing a better job of it than Katara.
Why would making a home of the Fire Nation (or anywhere else, for that matter!) mean forsaking her culture? Wouldn't Katara take the South with her everywhere she goes? Wouldn't Zuko love her culture and make it part of who he is?
Katara has never let anyone else walk over her. She has never shied away from breaking tradition and building her own path over it. Why should this be any different?
I’m having feelings about Katara v Pakku again, and the fact that at this point in the series, Katara has never been in a fight that wasn’t to the death. Every fight she’s ever been in has had world-ending stakes. She’s not shooting to kill Pakku because she’s weaker and less trained than him - though she is - she’s shooting to kill because she doesn’t know any other way to fight. Friendly sparring, or fighting as a spectator sport, has not been a part of this girl’s life. Pakku’s fighting Katara to put troublesome teenagers in their place; Katara’s fighting Pakku because they’ll all die if Pakku doesn’t pull his head out of his ass and train the Avatar.
Pakku is genuinely surprised to see his own reflection in that disc of ice Katara shoots right past his face. If he hadn’t dodged, it would have sliced his head right open. He starts putting actual effort in after that.
Aang, Katara and Sokka be like :D :D -_-
Oh I love them
I got bored and decided to draw all my head cannons for their body types and faces
Random ramblings under the cut
- Soft features, makes him look a bit baby faced
- dark skin, many scars
- lots of creases in his brow from frowning, and dimples
- if his hair was long, it would be slick and straight
- wide nose with a slight hook to it
- wide and strong body, little to no hair
- sharp eyes that always look tired
- angular, heavy upper eyelids and sad looking eyes
- sometimes his sharp cheek bones can make him look malnourished--kind of stayed that way after his childhood
- very few scars, all small and faded
- tattooed number 3 on his right shoulder blade
- wavy hair and strong, thin nose
- many small freckles and moles from the sun
- lean and slender body, lots of hair
- trans scars (depends)
- Sanji's skin hardly ever scars due to his Germa genes. When he does scar, it's usually from a severe injury of some kind.
- There's a tiny scar on the small of his back from where he broke his back on Drum island, small scars on his wrists from a combination of his childhood and Whole Cake Island, faint burn scars on his feet from using Diable Jambe, and a well hidden scar on his forehead that hides in his hairline from the iron mask he wore when he was young. Sanji hasn't ever really spoken about his scars to anyone, and he isn't sure he'll be able to for some of them. If asked though, he might offer a little bit of insight.
- Zoro has plenty of scars. Whether it be significant like his chest scar or eye scar, or as insignificant as faint scars on his hands from training, Zoro views each one as a promise to get stronger.
- There's obviously the scar on his chest from his duel with Mihawk, though that one isn't the only one of its kind. Zoro gained a few more from that specific duel on his chest, though they weren't nearly as bad as the big one. The scar over his eye is something he will never elaborate on, though if you ask Perona she will say he fell down the stairs and his sword caught him in the eye. He has plenty of scars on his arms and hands from training, and two rather nasty ones on his shins from where he tried to cut his legs off to escape Mr.3's wax trap.
