The sidekick is in love with the villain and hero, but they don't know. Nor do they show any sign of liking the sidekick back. In fact, the sidekick has to suppress their feeling of jealousy, every time the villain flirts with the hero, and the hero flirts back. His heart ached every time at the sight. The sidekick can do nothing but watch them. He keeps a journal, that he writes in every day.
One day, the villain and the hero find the journal.

The hero screamed in agony as the blood oozed out of his body, and into the pool of liquid beside him. His voice echoed in the empty vast sky, and then nothing. An anguished silence. And then, a thud. He fell on his back, the villain going out of his vision for a second.
As if on cue, or maybe it was just mocking him, it started raining. Heavy droplets made his eyes so heavy, he fought to open them. The villain stayed where he was, a knife dripping blood mixed with the rain, onto the wet ground. The hero's breathing slowed.
"Why." He choked, his body nearly tearing itself apart by the force it took to say that. He shivered, the coldness of the raindrops getting to him. He tried inhaling. His lungs hurt, and his heart more. The villain dropped to his knees, his eyes filling with tears. He bawled. The hero's ears rang with the noise.
"I love you, but...but I couldn't. I couldn't be better for you. Loving me comes with a price." The villain rasped, he dropped the knife and walked to the lying figure. His gaze crossed with the hero's as he continued, "This is the price." The hero's heart clenched. He had failed. Failed to change the villain. Failed to save him. Failed to save himself. Failed himself. He breathed out last time, before his body gave up.

“Do you need a reminder of how fucking good you feel on me?” The villain asked the hero—their voice was deep, a sharp edge. The hero nodded, almost dazy. They were getting turned on by this whole scenario, the way the villain was manhandling them. It felt good. Really good. They wanted to be devoured. Desired. Let someone undo them. Bring them back to themself. They didn’t know what they were doing. Their head felt so heavy. God, they needed control more than anything.
“Yeah, possibly more than one.” The hero replied, coming close to where the villain was standing. They grabbed them by the waist and pulled them in a heated kiss. The villain responded to the kiss immediately by grabbing the hero and pushing them onto the desk behind them. Their hands rode up the hero’s thighs, squeezing them. The hero moaned, lowly. The villain pulled away, to the hero’s dismay. They chased after the villain’s lips. “Please, kiss me.”
“Desperate. You were literally running away from me, 10 minutes ago. How am I supposed to do this with you?” The villain groaned. Their intent had been clear the moment they met. It was to have a talk, not a fight. A talk. A talk about their relationship. How they planned to make it happen in the future. But, the hero was anxious, which the villain understood. They were too.
However, the villain didn’t understand why the hero intended to ditch the whole situation. And, run away. They sighed. The hero didn’t reply, their eyes trained on the ground. “Look at me, please?” The villain gently placed their hand on the hero’s cheeks.
“I’m so embarrassed by myself. I’m so confused. And, I’m so scared.” The hero said, their eyes filing with tears. The tears let themselves out without his permission, and he broke down.
“I know, baby. I know how you feel. But, I want to talk about it when you’re ready. And, you can tell me if you’re not.” The villain acknowledged, their face already wet by the time they were finished. “It’ll be okay, we can work through this, alright? Promise me you won’t run away again.” The villain uttered.
The hero shook their head and faintly smiled. “Never”, they whispered. They kissed the villain to bind it.

The villain has a crush on the hero. He's in denial, until the hero finds out and uses it to his advantage.

“You can’t be serious right? You want to fight me just because I took down your favorite bakery shop?!” The villain exclaimed in disbelief, their jaw wide open.
The hero didn’t falter, frowning with their eyebrows and lips. “It had the best banana bread! You can’t just do that and not expect me to come find your ass!” The hero said, defensively.
The villain couldn’t help but find it cute, as they let out a laugh. “How about I promise to buy you the best bakery shop in the world?”
The hero took a step forward. “It doesn’t matter. I want the one that you destroyed.”
“I didn’t know.” The villain sighed, feeling like a helpless parent that had thrown an old toy of their child away, and now the child wanted it back.
The hero jabbed their finger to the villain’s chest, squinting their eyes. “You pay the owner to build it back, and I won’t fight you.” They demanded, staring daggers into the villain’s eyes.
“Fine.” The villain mumbled, after thinking for a second.
“Fine?” The hero questioned, not being able to believe the villain’s words.
The villain nodded. “Yes, fine.”
“You promise?” The hero asked, smiling slightly, as their hand smoothed over the villain’s chest.
“Yes, I promise, hero.” The villain smiled reluctantly as well.
And they indeed did help the owner rebuild the shop, an even bigger one just to see that gleaming smile on the hero’s face when they suggested it.
Oh, and they also had many dates in the shop.
"I'd like to believe you, but I don't know if I can." The hero uttered, the villain stood with their back facing them. They let their eyes stroll over the villain's shadowed body. The sun beamed on the villain, making them glow.
"It's okay. You don't have to. No one does. No one did." The villain replied. And, even though the hero couldn't see their face, they knew it was heartbroken. The villain was heartbroken, they could feel it. They longed to just hold them, but they can't.
The hero was restrained by the bindings of their mission. The mission? Manipulate the villain. Find all their weaknesses to use against them. Cruel. That's what they felt when they first entered the villain's huge mansion. It was evening. The sun was bidding its final goodbye, with the sharp sunrays.
The hero took a deep breath to steady their pounding heart. The villain turned around abruptly and shifted their feet towards them. They came so close, the hero thought they would kiss them. But what came was the gentle touch of the villain's fingers on their cheek. A soft graze of the other's hand, and they sighed.
The hero leaned to the touch, involuntarily. They couldn't stop themself for wanting more of it. "You know, I've always believed you. Believed in your strength to fight me, and win. It's almost a defeat on my part to admit it." The villain murmured, their hands moving down to the hero's jaw. The hero let it.
"You don't need to. Don't have to. I've lost more than won. With you, anyways." The hero muttered back, their voice so low. So mellow. They wished that the both of them would stay like this. Never pull apart, but of course, that wasn't going to happen.
"You've won me." The villain whispered. The distance between them allowed even the slightest noise to be heard, the villain didn't need to be loud. The hero shuddered, their heartbeat picked up again. They looked the villain in the eye, and found them staring right back.
The villain moved closer, hesitant. The hero closed the gap between them and brought their lips together. They cursed internally to the mission, the damned government, his duties, and his job. However, most of all, they cursed himself for losing control. But who were they to deny love? No one. Not anymore.

When the hero finishes their training for the day, and comes home, they do not expect to see the villain sitting in the middle of their room, with a presumably champagne glass in their hand.
However, what was more strange was the fact that the villain had decorated the whole place for the hero’s happy birthday. But the decorations weren’t normal like balloons, banners, and…. Other decorations.
There were knives, and other weapons hanging around the room vaguely, yet somehow fashionably. There was a cake in the middle with the hero’s name, painted red, their name in a black font. And the villain sat, grinning.
The hero stood still for a second, taking it all in slowly. If it was anyone in the hero’s space, they would have been shocked. Horrified, perhaps. But the hero, the hero barely blinked an eye at it. They sighed. “Is this the birthday party I get for working hard all day?” They asked, setting down their backpack.
The villain chuckled. “If that was your way of saying ‘thank you’, I regret to inform you it's not the best way.” The hero perked an eyebrow, before sitting down opposite the villain.
“And why would I be thanking you for this?” The hero asked, motioning around the room in a ‘what the heck is this?’ tone.
The villain pouted, their full lips crunching into a perfect circle. “Now that’s not very nice. I worked very hard to find all of your hidden guns, and even the knives! Gosh the knives! Why do you not have a knife holder?” They mused, their brows frowning in concentration as if this was a serious thing they took great interest in.
The hero pursued their lips. They hadn’t eaten much all day, and the cake(however bloody it was designed to look) appeared as delicious as water in a dessert. Their stomach growled, and they glanced at the villain. The villain smiled sweetly.
“Let’s cut the cake! Happy birthday, my hero.” The ‘my’ was really unnecessary, the hero thought but let it go anyway.
They leaned forward and blew off the candles. The candles were all black. “Thank you.” They mumbled, feeling uneasy yet a sick kind of affection towards the villain for remembering their birthday and even throwing a party. No one had done it, not even their closest so-called colleagues.
They put on a smile. Not forced, but genuine. The villain smiled just as genuinely back. The hero devoured the cake, it was a chocolate cake, their favorite. And while eating, the villain spoke up. “Just because I did all this doesn’t mean I’m going soft on you during our fights, just so you know.” They licked their lips, a flirtatious grin spreading across their cream kissed lips.
The hero rolled their eyes with a smile. “Yeah, yeah. You’re a big baddie, who doesn’t have a heart and has a stone cold persona. Blah blah blah.”
The villain laughed, gazing at them with love filled eyes. The hero couldn’t ask for more for their birthday.
"Have you seen my black hoodie? I've searched for ages, now." The villain groaned, ruffling his hair. Frustrated. The hero hid a smile, as they realized which hoodie the other one was talking about.
"Oh yeah? What does it look like?" The hero questioned, faking an innocent expression.
"The one that has Spiderman on it." The villain responded, throwing himself in one of the couches and turning the TV on. The hero chuckled quietly.
"Hmm, I think I have it." The hero smiled, and the villain spun his head around to glare at him.
"You better give it back, you little shit. It's my comfort hoodie, for fuck's sake!" The villain cried. The hero surrendered.
"Sorry, sorry. If you want comfort, I can wear it and then we could cuddle. I'll give it back after that. How does that sound?" The hero asked, grinning. The villain blushed and then nodded bashfully.
"Pathetic, pathetic, pathetic. All you are is, pathetic." The villain hushed, the words getting carried into the darkness of nothing but a singular light coming from the window on his left. Silence.
The hero scoffed and then half-laughed, "At least, I'm not a loser who the world is behind." His hands itched against the ropes that held him together. They weren't too tight, if he wished, he could untie himself and run away. But, he wanted to spend some more time with the villain, something he shouldn't be doing on his mission. Inappropriate. Who could blame him though? The villain's tactics to gain his attention were too cute.
"Oh come on, darling. We both know you're jealous of me because I'm more famous than you." The villain said, with an almost childish smile on his face. The hero sighed.
"Hmm, what can I say? Of course, I'd be jealous of such a pretty face." The hero let on, grinning. The blush that crept on the villain's face, was worth everything. Widened eyes stared back at him in amusement. He wasn't normally the one to flirt, but today somehow felt different. A gained confidence, a crush to make blush. The villain smirked, after regaining his composure.
"You're not so bad yourself, Gorgeous." The villain said back, eyes gleaming with excitement. And, now it was time for the hero to blush as his body ran with adrenaline, warmness flooding through. His heart raced. He felt himself untying the ropes, and standing up. The villain raised his eyebrows, not moving. The hero walked towards the villain and handed him the rope.
"Try harder next time, sweetheart." The hero whispered in the villain's ear, who was standing there, stunned. And, before he could even react, the hero took off running. The villain cursed under his breath and ran after him.

“You’ll always be here to fight me, right?” The villain asks, pinning the hero to the wall, keeping an arm under their neck to keep them there firmly.
The hero grunted, leaning their head back to the rough bricks. They smirked slightly. “Why? Scared I’ll choose some other villain over you?”
“Shut up.” The villain said, pressing harder. The hero groaned, their hands moving to the villain’s waist.
They kept the smug grin on their face. “It’s okay, you can admit it. You like me, or dare I say, prefer me.”
And that was all it took for the villain to break. They leaned forward and smashed their lips with the hero’s, and the hero let out a laugh, pulling the villain closer.
CW: implied sexual content
"She was checking you out." The hero pressed his body flush against the villain's. The villain bit his lip and then licked it. The hero followed the movement with his eyes.
"I-...are you jealous?" The villain asked, swallowing. This felt thrilling, but surely dangerous with the way the hero wouldn't let him go the moment that girl left them alone. The backstreet was grave, with nothing but the loud music coming from the club that was placed behind it.
"So what if I am? You're mine, no one's allowed to look at you that way but me." The hero growled, and it went straight to the villain's...let's just say his body reacted in a way that the hero must've felt. "Oh, this is turning you on, is it. You like it when I'm possessive, don't you?" His body rubbed against the villain's, and the villain let out a low groan that was something close to an illicit sound. The hero smirked, and the villain knew they were going to be up all night.
