Update: I redid the ref's background and changed her name, but I left the original description under the cut

New OC?? Technically. Not really. This is Anthropos, a character I made 3 years ago and redesigned a week or two ago. She has dug her claws into my brain and is refusing to let go.

Anthropos was one of my sonas in 2020 (although I barely used her). You can see her first design on the ref, but I also have a very underwhelming redesign from 2021 that I’m not going to bother with linking because it sucks, and I spelled her name wrong on it. What’s going on with the name? Reasonable question. It’s short for Anthropomorphic Aposterous.

You can see the old design on the ref. Look at it. It's so ugly. I can't believe I made that and didn't hate myself for it. The new version is a lot better imo. I tried to make the demon theme (because that's a thing) more apparent since the original is just an anthro cat with horns and four ears.

Note: she has a sort of mohawk and a set of long blue spikes at the base of her tail that I couldn’t include on the ref because it’d look weird. Her tail is also technically longer than seen here.

4. Piece you wish got more love?

Hmm... I don't often let myself get sad about my art not doing as well as I hoped, but I do sort of wish the raffle prizes I posted earlier this year had gotten some more likes. Although the main reason they didn't was that I didn't have many followers (I still don't but my art gets more likes now so yeah).

14. What's your favourite thing about drawing?

This question is a tad vague, so I'm just answering on vibes if that makes sense. I think my favourite thing about drawing is really just the joy of creation. Like, it's fun to make stuff and to have it in my files and online and think "yo, I made that". Plus, I usually enjoy the process a lot (although I like certain parts more than others).

29. Do you use a lot of references while drawing?

It really depends on what I'm drawing! If I'm really familiar with it, I can bust it out with no reference. But if it's a new species, or a weird angle, or something else that I don't do much, I'll usually try to pull up some references, because otherwise, it doesn't really meet my standards.

Lol I forgot to post this here. This is Mako, an old-ish OC of mine.

I'm trying to go through some of my old OCs and draw refs for them, and so far, this is the only one I've completed.

Mako originated in 2020 as a demo sona design. I never used her, but I liked her design enough for the concept to stick in my brain for the following three years. I did some redesign concepts for her last year and then promptly forgot about them until a couple of days ago when I noticed she was missing from my Toyhouse page. I decided to give her a ref, and here we are.

Her name comes from the Mako shark, but the shark aspects of her design are based on blacktip reef sharks and tiger sharks. The main inspo for this iteration of her design was how her old design looked a little like a sunset, or like musk sticks (if you don't know what musk sticks are, they're a pink Australian lolly. Look it up). Based on the sunset idea, I turned her into a surfer girl. Lol.

Therivin! Or Theri. NPC Character I made for an RP. I had a lot of fun writing them and I got very attached lol

I WATCHED IT IT'S SO RIGHT

I read the book w/ Bumble in it (I legitimately don't remember its name sob) about 4 years ago, and the way everyone treated her made me stop reading DotC because it made me so angry. I still haven't gone back to finish it and I don't know if I will tbh

The part that pissed me off the most was how Gray Wing was such a little bitch the whole time. At least at the time -- so in 2020 -- people were still mostly very fond of him. I got into several arguments about it and people didn't take me seriously, although that may have been because the people I talked with were around my age and may not have had a fully developed understanding of the issues Bumble's whole thing exemplifies. I also didn't have adequate vocab to express what was wrong with what i had read, which didn't help.

Also, the point Moonkitti makes about Bumble and weight is really interesting. It's so annoying how generally fatphobic kids' media is (thinking about Harry Potter rn).

The HTTYD universe's ecosystem must've been so damaged when all the dragons dissappeared.

"but people wanted to hurt them!" people want to hurt wolves to, but we don't send them all to an isolated cave because it would destroy the ecosystem.

In fact, "dragon" is just a collective word for multiple species so they really fucked themselves with that one.

In conclusion, the third movie was stupid.
