Anyways, here’s part one the U13 au master doc! But just a disclaimer here though for any one wanting to read this. I know from what I’ve posted so far of this au has been pretty tame, but this has a very mature storyline with blood/intense gore, themes of depression, anxiety, PTSD, etc. I’ve made a full list of potential triggers at the end of my statement on the first page of the Google Doc but I’m just putting this here as an extra precaution.
If you are in anyway uncomfortable with the themes present in this au then this is not a good story for you. These sections can get pretty heavy so if you do want to read this, I encourage you to take breaks. This is 131 pages long so far and I’m only just getting started with it.
Hopefully by the time part two eventually gets finished, the story will wind down a bit because, c’mon this is DBZ we’re talking about. It’s not always filled with gritty and serious writing, it also has comedy. The only reason as to why it gets as dark as it does in here is because the past behind the Saiyans, Frieza's tyranny, the whole ✨blowing up a planet and killing off it’s entire population thang✨ is some of the darkest shit in the show. And because that shit is being elongated over 10 year period in this au, shit’s bound to get darker as a result.
So aside from that, happy reading! :)
I’ve worked on this doc for a solid several months at this point and I think you guys are gonna really love what I have so far. This part is usually presented by both of the couple’s families, however it’s more acceptable nowadays to have it be presented by an elder of either of their respected communities. The only people allowed to drink this beverage is the couple.”

Also for those wondering about the earrings they have on, no they’re not destroyer earrings. They’re wedding earrings! This concept was inspired by @nessguts but I decided to add some more world-building because who doesn’t like more Saiyan lore? :D I might make a separate post about it later so I don’t make this one too long lol but in the meantime, enjoy this fluff of U7 meeting their U13 counterparts.

I’ve been listening to some vocaloid/utau/vsynth songs lately and thought it’d be funny to see U13 Vegeta singing “Romeo and Cinderella” to a flustered U13 Kakarot lol.
Here’s part 1 of some side character doodles in my U13 au!
This one is about the gods of U13. Introducing the god of destruction, Calado and their angel, Zeraca!
I wanted to make their theme on free-spiritedness and luxury since the drinks that they’re based off of (“Piña colada” and a cocktail called “Sazerac”) are typically those that you get off of high end up scale party. These two care more about elegance and the amount of fun at a party they’re having rather than just only caring about the food.
In some sense, Calado acts more entitled than Beerus because of how particular their tastes are in multiple aspects. The reason as to why they want to destroy Planet Vegeta in the first place was because all they did was fight and to them, the Saiyans were boring because they solely focused on one goal and to Calado, stagnation was boring. Unpredictablity and spontaneity was more exciting for them. The only reason as to why they spared the planet from destruction was because they wanted what Beerus was predicted to have; a Super Saiyan God. If they just needed to wait for it then they were willing to do so. Despite their entitled nature, I think they would’ve been good friends with Beerus for their shared love of poking fun at their students and their matching chaotic energy.
Zeraca is a little different in methodology. He doesn’t simply go by his god’s orders and is more flippant in nature, sometimes taking an active role in the destruction of planets with his god. He’s also a lot more vapid than other angels, typically resorting to insults and cursing rather than settling for compromise. He’s a lot more emotionally involved in destructive decisions than most which in turn causes him to be more keen to do his own thing than following orders from the Omnipriest (which is probably one of the reasons why Universe 13 got destroyed along with the 5 others that were fucked over by Zeno) aside from that he continues to stand with Calado throughout, being practically thick as thieves. However, unlike Calado and Beerus, Zeraca doesn’t have the same connection with his Universe 7 counterpart. He and Whis mix about as well as oil and water and they typically exchange conversation via backhanded compliments and petty banter. He is one of the very few people to make Whis genuinely curse or get mad at but the one thing the two of them agree on is keeping Beerus and Calado happy and not wanting to tear away their friendship because of their squabbling.

For a little explanation, the U13 au has its own fusion technique! As you can tell from some of my other posts showcasing this au, it takes some aspects of Steven Universe. The fusion technique is the same but with a Dragon Ball twist. This is what I call Coalescence Fusion!
In Universe 13, Coalescence Fusion is a technique that was created by the Tuffles and then appropriated passed onto the Saiyans as a way to strengthen their bonds but the reason to why would constantly change through the passage of time.
For the Tuffles, it was about strengthening bonds in mutual relationships and a sign of personal growth. When the Saiyans conquered their planet and renamed it Planet Vegeta, “strengthening bonds” through fusion was more about a sense of comradery and combining battle power to overtake their enemies rather than personal growth. The bigger the fusion, the stronger the warrior.
In order to one to fuse with this technique, all parties have to make their energies equal to one another’s. (Usually a fusion consists of two or more people) This creates an equilibrium that helps make a well balanced fusion. One can level out their energy in many different ways, they can dance, sing, meditate… as long they can combine together and maintain a balance, there is no particular way to fuse. Now technically one can stayed fused forever as long as long as they have strong enough of a connection. But as soon as their energies are thrown out of balance or they’re incapacitated in some way, the fusion can un-fuse or become unstable. After a fusion fails, there’s usually a 20 minute gap before one can fuse again, however depending on how strong the parties’ connection to each other is, the faster the recover rate can be.
In some Saiyan communities, (more commonly in low or mid class ranks) Coalescence Fusion can have a romantic connotation depending on how quickly a party can fuse together. Now while Saiyans aren’t much for romance, they are a warrior race after all, some saw that aspect as more of a benefit for encouraging stronger warriors. Others see it as more of a hinderance in battle.
As time moved forward, restrictions on who could fuse together became more apparent. (Basically no mixing of classes) In more elite circles, Coalescence Fusion was used more as a way of courtship and in a way to literally “merge” assets. When thinking about it that way, fusion to elites is more important in a socio-economic setting than on the battlefield.
For Kage specifically, because he was a fusion of two different classes (an elite and a low-class) combined with the fact that Kakarot and Vegeta fused together so quickly; albeit entirely on accident. Kage was practically shunned from a majority of the Saiyan race, believing them to be an abomination. The elites wouldn’t accept him due to them believing that Kakarot soiled the royal bloodline by fraternizing with Vegeta through fusion (Even though they weren’t even a couple at the time.) and the low class wouldn’t accept him because they felt they didn’t trust Vegeta, believing a fusion between him and Kakarot was ultimately dangerous. This lead them to unfuse from panic, Vegeta getting injured in the process (more on that at a different time ;) ) and they run away to Earth in an attempt to escape from certain death. By landing on Earth, their relationship became stronger and thus, their fusion, Kage became ultimately stronger as a result. This is exemplified through Kage’s different forms throughout the years to signify ever changing nature of their relationship. Sorry for the long lore dump but hopefully it makes sense!

Since a couple of you guys wanted an explanation of this au, I’ll happily give a small summary of the storyline!
I call it…
✨the Universe 13 AU✨ (i know very creative lol)
The basis this au is practically a giant “what-if” scenario. There are several questions that drive this storyline.
What would happen if Bardock convinced some of the Saiyans to go against Frieza?
If Bardock defeated Frieza, would that mean Planet Vegeta was never destroyed?
If Planet Vegeta was never destroyed, would that mean Goku never had to leave for Earth and actually went to go train with Raditz instead?
If Goku had never left for Earth, what would happen to his kind-hearted nature as he grows up on Planet Vegeta?
What if “Prince” Vegeta actually became “King” and how would this affect his behavior and his decision making going forward?
This story revolves around their friendship as kids to adults in the war-ridden landscape that is Planet Vegeta. One day, they crash land on Earth in an attempt to flee from their cruel reality to which they start adjusting to the peacefulness of their new environment. Only through these experiences do they soon realize that they might have feelings for one another and start a slowly budding relationship and in turn forming a new type of fusion, Kage.

(Again these are my U13 AU versions of Goku and Vegeta and are not meant to be the canon versions!)
I’m excited for @kakavegeweek ! This year, I’ll be making everything based off of my Universe 13 AU.
There are several main factors to this AU.
1. Planet Vegeta was never destroyed because Frieza was killed by Bardock. (Both Bardock and Gine were later sent to Earth under witness protection by King Vegeta)
2. Goku was never sent to Earth, and thus was never given the name Goku but remains as Kakarot.
3. Vegeta ascends to the throne and becomes king at a young age after his father is assassinated with Kakarot and Raditz as his knights.
4. Cooler leads and manipulates Saiyans that supported Frieza into starting 20 year civil war.
5. ✨T r a u m a✨ and lots of it for both Kakarot and Vegeta to go through during this war.
6. Vegeta and Kakarot accidentally learn an ancient fusion technique called Coalescence Fusion (A fusion style that I created that’s somewhat similar to Steven Universe’s version of fusion.)
7. And because of this accidental fusion they slowly start to fall in love with one another.
And that’s pretty much it! I can’t wait to share it with all of you. 🥰
