It’s kind of insane how nepeta was beaten to death with a club actually. Like that’s such a different death than the rest of the trolls. Eridan’s kills were with his fast acting long range murder laser like. They were over in a second he didn’t really have time to think! It was on reflex mostly! He himself dies to a chainsaw. Significantly closer range but just as fast acting. Equius was strangled and there is a certain disconnect that comes with that I think. Like sure it took a bit but it was basically like holding a pillow to a sleeping person’s face, he didn’t fight it. He let it happen. Nepeta had to have fought that had to be messy it had to have been arduous and time consuming because she would have gone down biting and scratching with everything she could manage. Like($($($;$; why did Gamzee do that. He liked Nepeta!!! they were friends!!! I don’t think she would have been afraid and I don’t think she would have begged. She would have gone down hissing and spitting. They were friends! I mean like. Can you imagine??? Beating someone to death while wearing the little friendship bracelet they made for you??? Oh and you’re both middle schoolers on a space rock that are about to die anyway. Jesus Christ

if homestuck was a high-budget arcane-style animated show Vriska’s big climactic last scene would be a montage of all her big scenes previously with My Way by Frank Sinatra playing over it (for soundtrack dissonance) before it crescendos with the lord english fight and she’d open the house juju as the music swells and then it would cut to white leaving us to wonder if she survived the juju blast. headcanon that a popular Alternian genre of television was like those cop body cam shows mixed with reality tv about like. Tow truck companies but for Threshecutioners. according to my little brother they gave Bear Grylls a show where he gets to hunt down celebrities in the woods and presumably kill them. The wonders of television amaze me every day

Okay the FLARP gang roles (like… pirate movie characters… does that make sense… the dynamics) that I think they filled in their little game thing I guess:

Vriska: rebel pirate queen… obvie… captain jack sparrow type shit. Little freak who is exceedingly capable yet often underestimated for her blood caste / generally scrawny build / unorthodox demeanor

Terezi: Vriska’s first mate! I think she and Vriska were very much a package deal but I think Terezi had a name of her own… she was scary also i think

Eridan: Like… the British naval official that’s been fighting with Vriska for months but can’t bring himself to just pull the bloody trigger yknow…

Kanaya: Vriska’s landbound beau sort of. Do you know the song Jolly Sailor Bold. It’s like that. Her hair it hangs in ringlets her eyes as black as coal my happiness attends her my jolly sailor bold

Equius: listen. Listen I love neigh8ors. Serket Zahhak siblings foreva. He’s like the weird guy they hide out with sometimes. Whenever she gets in trouble she drops into his house. I love them. She goes ‘I know a guy 😏” and he’s the guy

Aradia: I like to think that Team Charge and the Scourge Sisters first encountered each other in a scuffle over a treasure. You know. Archeology explorer team and pirate treasure hunter team?? That was the start of their beef

Tavros: Aradia’s little freak of a partner that Vriska finds infinitely infuriating for some reason. Part of which being that he’s a bronzeblood and she feels the need to collect all of mindfang’s associates like pokemon cards

Save me characters that just have something about them. Save me characters that don’t have to be “sunshine coded” as in happy and bubbly but characters that are inexplicably the center of every person’s attention whenever they’re around. They don’t have to want it they don’t even have to enjoy it but everyone who looks at them wants to understand and wants to figure them out. Characters that draw people in with some strange unknowable charisma. Characters that writhe with secrets under their skin. Characters that are bigger than you and me and probably bigger than the world itself. Characters that change lives just by being in them, not always for the better but changed nonetheless. Save me characters that tend to die in the end, ending in one big heat death supernova and leaving an afterimage behind that lasts as long as the story. Maybe even longer. After all, stars still shine after they die, the light has to travel.

I have mixed feelings on broadway homestuck as a whole but they were cooking with Thirteen Years (One World Closer) when they had karkat ask if the stars on John’s world look the same as they did on his. Do you think he’d be happy to know that they do.
