Theories on the outfits.

Well mostly the ribbons and masks.

First Jack: His ribbons are tied to his wrists and have bows. This shows being controlled or puppeteered (is that a word?) but obvious because we can see the bow. (Also seeing the bow means easier to untie aka loosen the control.) But!... His ribbons are the only ones that aren’t flailing around. They are tied to his back. This gives me the vibe that he is still somewhat in control of himself. Not to mention harness and suspenders like he is constraining himself. It fits his tsundere personality. Also he is holding the one ribbon in his hand and the other looped on his arm, making it hard to grab and gives him more control over it. If the boys are being turned into puppets, Jack is most likely the last one they are turning or he is able to fight back against it… probably both. His mask is barely visible. Yes, because of the angle, but like most of the others the branches are thin and mostly around his eye. Slightly poking over his nose. If you squint or really zoom in.

Jade: Interesting! His ribbons, while flailing about, are not tied around his wrists but forearms. And the big ribbon and bow on his shoulder and almost like it’s going across his body. Given Jade’s personality and unique magic, it is not unlikely he is somewhat aware of being controlled or pretending to be (ribbons not on wrists) and still has somewhat control over himself (ribbon on shoulder). And his mask… looks to me has the least amount of branches trying to grow and is just around his eye. (Note: it’s around his yellow eye that he uses for his unique magic.)

Lilia: Ribbons loose thus easily grab-able and around wrists to control. Now his bows; fit into his cutesy vibe but the black spots tell me he has lapses or moments where he sees through the illusion – moments of consciousness (being in control of himself). His mask though small, is creeping over his nose – a sign of being more under control.

Trey: He is a difficult one. His ribbons aren’t on his wrists but like Ace and Ortho, his bows aren’t visible. So I am a bit stumped on what exactly this means. But his mask does have more obvious creeping branches.

(Fun little note: Trey and Jade’s outfits match, especially the sleeves and wrist cuffs. Also Cater and Vil’s outfits and Leona and Floyd’s.)

The SR cards give me tin soldier vibes. While R cards more booth workers. Trey looks like he sells popcorn, peanuts and cotton candy. Jade looks like the people that take your ticket or advertise shows outside the tents. I can kinda hear the “Step right up! Step right up and try…!” Y’know?

Now Leona:                            He is the only SR that doesn’t have tassels. It is in your face like the other SRs though. And I will explain what I think the tassels mean with Cater. Ribbons around the wrist and bows visible. Also the ribbons hanging from his clothes. Kinda in the sense of Lilia’s – there is control over himself but it’s hard to grasp and can still be grabbed by the “Puppeteer”. Also worthy to note his mask is almost not noticeable. Yes the angle and his hair but it’s still small.

I think there are degrees as to which they are being controlled or turned into puppets. Leona a little less than the SR but a bit more than the R.

Cater: The tassels! I think these are meant to be a distraction. They are more eye-catching than the ribbons and like I said very in your face. Trying to grab your attention. Trying to distract you from what is actually going on. It also matches that Cater, Floyd and Vil have the tassels because it matches their more attention grabbing presence and personalities. While Leona (no tassels) is more reserved and he is usually more in the background or shadows. Again, on the wrists and bows visible. They also are reaching for us. Either to grab us or be distractions which fit the tin soldier vibe. His mask does have some creeping branches.

Also Cater and Vil are the most neat and presentable while Leona and Floyd’s jackets’ being open fits their more lax personalities. But that is just their personal style.

Vil: Matches Cater. Tassels are around the wrists and bows visible. Also very in your face. And his mask has very noticeable branches. And may be just because he is Vil but he is very attention grabbing. (Also those stilettos! Damn! Kinda envious. I look like a baby giraffe learning how to walk when I wear heels.)

Floyd: Now Floyd is also very interesting. He has four tassels on each arm (the others have two tassels or ribbons) and two on each leg! His mask is also smaller with less branches. And around his yellow eye. This tells me the Puppeteer is controlling him but it’s difficult. They had to use even more restraints on him. Also it’s over his wrist cuffs not under like the other three SRs. This does match Floyd’s personality, that he’d be harder to control.

And finally the SSRs!

Kalim: I’d like to point unlike the other two, Kalim has his bows showing. Since he is used to Jamil’s unique magic and fought of Jade’s, while the other two are ‘almost completely puppets’ Kalim is a little less than them. Will maybe be the first of the three to gain back control over himself. His mask is thick! The other’s branches were thin. Maybe it is the close up but his definitely looks bigger but again less than Ace and Ortho’s branch-wise.

Ace: He has no bows showing! Thus making it more difficult for the control to be untied. The SSR ribbons are also in your face but more performative than distracting. They’re puppets on stage putting on a show. And his mask is very thick and creeping over his nose and under his other eye. And I think (kinda hard to see) by his left ear.

Ortho: Very similar to Ace. No bows on the ribbons. And his mask is almost completely under his other eye. He also got the tin soldier look. Not quite sure what it means but worthy of note that it matches Vil and Cater.

If I had to rank them on almost completely controlled (turned into puppet) to not as much:

So that’s my theory. I could absolutely be reading way too much into it but it felt like the ribbons and masks have to mean something.

Added little things I noticed:

All of them have red feather on their hat like Pinocchio.

The SSRs background look like Geppetto’s workshop but trashed.

The clocks with Ace. Like the whole clock music score while Jiminy Cricket tried to sleep.

The piano in Kalim’s. Maybe ‘dancing to the tune’ but its kinda broken, so broken control maybe.

Cleo the goldfish’s broken bowl in Ortho’s and the birdcage which Pinocchio was in when trapped by Stromboli.

The hidden characters in their clothes:

Figaro the cat on Ace’s belt.

Jiminy Cricket with Ortho (he is very noticeable)

And maybe I’m wrong but on Kalim’s ascot there a vague fish shapes that look like Cleo the goldfish. Which could be the reason for the gold jacket (we don’t see Kalim in a lot of yellow. It does look good.) And his train on his jacket looks like her fin tail.

And the wishing star images on everybody.

Especially Ortho who kinda gives me Blue Fairy vibes.

Other people have discussed it but very fitting that it’s Ace, Kalim and Ortho that are the SSRs. If I had to compare to the other half of the cast in GloMas. If Fellow and/or Giddle (?) “are” = Rollo; Ace = Azul, Kalim = Idia and Ortho = Malleus. (Ortho and Kalim could be switched.) They are to Fellow and Giddle as Azul, Idia and Malleus were the foils to Rollo.

Your unique looks and gentle demeanor are what initially draws them to you. Your gentle voice is the exact opposite of his nagging mother, and your chubby body just radiates warmth, that's why perhaps Riddle seeks your company out, albeit secretly. He doesn't want you to know your praises are soothing to his ears.

Cater initially wanted to tease you, but a quick pout in his direction got the son of the Diamond family trembling on his knees. Oh, you're the very definition of cute, you're adorable, for even if he doesn't like 'cute' things, you're an exception.

You always wondered why Trey brings you baked goods. Cakes, brownies, red velvets, anything he bakes he will give it to you. You voiced out your insecurity once that you'll gain weight, but Trey is quick to reassure you with the gentle caresses of his big hands on your waist that you look absolutely beautiful.

If you meet Deuce when he's in his delinquent phase, then perhaps he would bully you because of bad peer influence, but he is now a changed man. He is a supportive friend and loves it when he can feel your presence with him, you just radiate a warmth that he cannot explain. Once you hugged him, as a sign of your affection, his face pressed into your plump chest, Deuce exploded into a stuttering, blushing mess.

Oh dear, when Ace saw you hugging Deuce, he is quick to be on your side, exasperatedly asking why can't you do that to him too. It's unfair, y'know? He's one of the people to first befriend you! Tsk. Ace's hands will always hover over you as if resisting the urge to touch you everywhere. Once you hugged Ace, his face pressed on your soft chest, he'll sigh and sent Deuce an arrogant, victory smirk. Just like that, chaos will ensue.

Beastmen loves meat, and prefer meat over bones. You always wonder if somehow, Leona will eat you. The Prince of the Sunset Savannah always shamelessly rakes his eyes over your form. Lashes fluttering as he looks at you up and down. Frankly, it made you insecure, because why would he do this? The answer will come in the way he would grab you in the Botanical garden, making you plop on the ground as he put his head on your thighs, acting as his pillow. Leona will never tell you, but your softness and gentleness always lull him into his much-needed sleep, also, he may or may not accidentally grope your tiddies. What? Feline creatures like him are fascinated by round things.

Ruggie is fascinated with you, you look so plump, so cute, and he adores it. You're kind to him too, always sharing your food with him, and with your gentle demeanor, you never raised your voice unprovoked. Pet him once and Ruggie turns into an obedient hyena ready to act on your command.

He will never tell, but you make Jack nervous. He can't help it! You once sat behind him and absentmindedly grabbed his fluffy tail as he saw you pressed it into your cheeks, and Jack almost had a heart attack. He loves the way you're so plump it makes him want to protect you with his muscular form.

Azul once ask if you wanted a piece of diet advice, out of the good of his own heart, or maybe not. You can't tell if he's being serious, but if you accept it or decline, Azul is still quick to praise your efforts while accepting that land creatures have different body types. Besides he prefers you're plumpness, it makes him feel something. He is quite concerned, and he won't tell but he fears that you'll get bullied too. You reassure him that you're alright. Once Azul caught wind of a student who throws unexpected backhanded compliments in your way, said student ended up at the bottom of the barrel. Fear not, Azul will offer you a contract that will make you require his protection. And no, it's not his excuse to make you rely on him because it feeds his ego. No, Azul will deny it, yet his tentacles coming alive is the opposite indication.

If you crave something and somehow it ends up in front of you, Jade is most likely the mastermind behind it. Don't you know that eels love soft things? A hand on your thigh, gently squeezing as you sat beside him, or a caress of your waist as Jade hovers over you. One time Jade is wiping the glasses when you leaned over the countertop, your full and bouncy chest pressing over the bar, tired and out of your wits, you let out a satisfying yawn. Mouth wide open as you tried to fight your drowsiness. Only to jerk up in surprise at the sound of glasses breaking. Alert, you saw Jade smiling at you, yet his eyes are closed. "Please don't worry, I just had to release the tension somewhere else," Jade said as he pats your head. Though you're confused, you let that one slide even though you saw fragments of glasses in his hand. Tsk, you have no idea just what you do to poor Jade, don't you?

You can't figure out Floyd, he's an enigma. But if there's one thing he loves, it's squeezing the life out of your body. "You're so soft," Floyd would lovingly sigh, resting his head on your shoulder, as you're entangled in his arms. One of his famous mood swings came with a peculiar request, he ask you to squeeze his head using your thighs. Of course, you declined, that is embarrassing! Bad take, Floyd looms over your body as he tried to intimidate you. It can only go on one thing: When you decline Floyd would forcefully part your legs, then will lovingly wrap them around his neck. Making you get stuck in an awkward, shameless position with him. You're a mess because your thighs are choking him! And yet, you just can't find it in your heart to reprimand the clingy and moody eel.

Kalim is a ray of sunshine, and you will always find yourself hugging the little man. His face brightens as you return his affection. And he, for some reason, likes to bury his face on your chest. If Kalim is feeling sad, you're the first person he'll go to. Please comfort him, put his head lovingly on your chest and he will be in a good mood again.

It's peculiar the way Jamil seeks your attention. At one-moment he'll treat you like how he treats everyone else, then the next he will put an arm on your thigh, absentmindedly caressing as you sat beside him at one of Scarabia's party. You heard Jamil humming once, and goodness, his voice is utterly angelic that you can't help but coo and throw praises in his way. That day, unbeknownst to you, Jamil is blushing hard under his hoodie basking in your body warmth and kindness. Praise him more, will you?

With you're physique, you're at odds with Vil. A model who sought to be the fairest of them all. Most often than not, Vil will recommend diet regimens, telling you to exercise more and whatnot, sometimes he comes off as arrogant and nagging, much like Azul. It is quite exhausting dealing with him, yet once you truly show Vil that you love your body, then he will leave you alone. Vil supposes that there's a charm in your chubby physique. He found himself wondering what it feels like to be the center of your affection seeing that you can only gently reprimand him, and you return his rude gestures with kindness. Oh, potato, you're too good for their world. Yet, those are just wandering thoughts for the Vil Schoenheit, but he will stand up for you if one of his acquaintances, from the industry or the school, insults you, he won't tolerate it. That person will get fired the very next day or will face the wrath of the most beautiful man in the world.

Your relationship with Rook is really interesting. The Hunter will love chasing you! And it just creeps you out a tiny bit when he found out your exact measurements. Expect hugs from him, from behind, from the front. You wonder if it's his hands you feel ghosting over your ass, but not outright touching inappropriately. You will find random poems about you, and how you're the goddess of fertility, ah, the typical hunter.

Epel will go crazy about your shape. Women in their village are quite fleshy, and Epel loves your curves. You have a busty chest, plump thighs, and a rounded butt, what more can he ask for? You're the perfect one for this manly man. Just pay attention to him, m'kay? Don't call him cute, or you will find yourself succumbing to his deadly cuteness.

Idia is losing sleep over you. You praise him, saying that you love his hair. You're kind, you don't push him out of his comfort zone, and above all of that? You're 'thicc af' for him. You caught him staring at you for quite a while, and when you told him that, Idia's hair quickly went up in red flames, and he's running back inside his room. Gosh, he's losing his mind! Ffs! He dropped his tablet when he realized that his search history includes... quite vulgar, peculiar searches about anime characters with chubby body shapes like you. Man, Idia wouldn't mind if you choked him with your thicc thighs. Idia almost slammed his head on his table, Damn, he's down bad for you.

Every time he talks to you, he needs to focus on your face, but it's like Sebek wants to smack himself for staring at your busty chest instead. He will randomly scream once he finds out how much he wishes to lay his head on your thighs.

Leona Kingscholar.

He loves you but you act like that lousy octopus sometimes and why did the payment be even worse than that octopus?!

Your client is weird too. He can't handle the constant knocking in his windows and when he checked, the creature with a big flying head come to his view (He attack the creature and you receive a customer complaint)

And what with that 2 assistants of yours?! He thought they were like a dwarf until their attire slip and he react by instinct to kick them out.

He likes your dorm though. It is much cooler than Monstro Lounge although the things inside are not.

At first, he thought you truly have a fox characteristic. You have this double persona that confused him sometimes. One time you are a cute and innocent fox. The next time you are a sly fox that likes to prank and rob people of their lives.

He didn't complain too much. He loves you even with that weird tendency. (He likes to play with your soft ears and tail and enjoy your purr. You look very docile in that state)

Ruggie Bucchi

Ruggie learn a hard way to not mess with your items. That one time when he goes to your workshop on the mission to search for you, he saw this one shiny gem in some necklace.

Of course, you wouldn't mind if one precious thing went missing right? So he takes it and sells it to some pawn shop. Until, you ask him about the necklace.

"Ruggie did you see a necklace with a shiny blue gem in the middle?"

"Uh... nope. What about it? Surely you have plenty of those, right?"

"Yes, I have plenty of that type of gems but nothing is effective as that gems to put a curse on some rich peoples. I received that item because that necklace brings very bad luck."

The next time, Ruggie saw the news that the pawn store he sell the necklace too, Is been burned to the ground and nothing else survive except for one box that contains a necklace. (You glare at Ruggie the entire time)

He loves to play with your tail and even offers to groom your tails while he relax and you need to do some paperworks.

Creep out by your assistant and he would constantly bark at the 2 assistances when they leech at your leg. (That pretty leg is only for him!)

Jack Howl

He didn't like your job but did not complain either.

He understands that you have been doing this job your entire life and try so hard not to judge.

He is that bodyguard's boyfriend. He would stay on alert whatever you receive a client. (Although he would cringe whenever a drastic payment needs to be done. For example, exchange your soul or years.)

He like to shift to his fox form and cuddle with his s/o. Groom each other tail, sleep in the fluff on their hair and got cuddly in the middle of the night. Truly bliss.

He hates your 2 assistance to the core. What with a constant foot kink? He once put them on the highest shelf for doing that. But he can't deny they did a pretty good job on keeping the items.

Azul Ashegrotto

He is confused about whatever to think of you as someone that brings benefits or as a rival.

He knows that anyone that tries to get out of his contract will try their luck on making a contract with you. But imagine his surprise, when the client ran back to him and ask him to give their year of life back from you.

He chuckle when he realized that you are more ruthless and when ask about this, you just smirk.

"It's not my fault. I rarely have a human client. They offer something that was very useless to me so I told them I will take their 10 years of live depending on the contract."

He amazed by how you also has an amazing assistance to assist you on locating things (although he more amazed at your memory).

Like to ask for your opinions regarding business and you gladly help him.

He like to groom your tails however he has times or when he is stressed. A total couple goal.

Jade Leech

A two-faced couple. That is what people call you both. Nobody knows if you both truly has feelings or just using each other benefits.

Jade has this terrifying smile and you has this wicked mind.

He didn't mind his s/o. In fact, it makes him love them very much. Sometimes, they even work together to handle some of Azul clients. (You chuckle thinking about this).

He has a hate relationship with your two dwarfs. He even throws them to the sea because they hug your legs to much. (He even feed them the mushrooms he found in the mountains.)

Found your ears fascinating. He likes how your ears perk when he approached from behind and that swift movement from your tail.

Floyd Leech

HE FOUND YOU INTERESTING!!! HE LOVES TO CUDDLE YOUR TAIL AND WOULDN'T LET YOU GO UNTIL HE GOT BORED!

Seriously, he loves you to much that he even pick fight witb your clients. ( He see some weird head creature and start to wrestle with them.)

You didn't mind because you found a very good entertainment. (You even cheered at him in the background)

Likes to squeeze your assistance until their pass out. Seriously, your assistance is afraid of him.

He like to hang out with you in your workshop because of so many precious items with an interesting power. (You ket he take a few harmless ones with him or if he need to fight some enemy, you will lead him your cursed item.)

Of the Disney Princess) although His Father (King Triton) doesn't fully agree to this and in Frustration Rielle swims off to the Surface there He Meets MC on a Small Cruise Ship with her Fellow NRC friends having a Spring Break Party (Kinda Like how Eric was Celebrating his Birthday but this is the First Day of Spring and perfect for a Cruise Party)

With the Young Prince now curious of the Female Student he wanted to learn more about her (or as you can say it was Love at First Sight) and what would it be like to be Part of Her World.

Unfortunately Someone on the Other Hand has taken interest in the Female Prefect . . . Azul Ashengrotto . . . he sought to make MC his Promised but Notices Rielle Snooping in that case gave Azul the very key for his plan to achieve

During the Party a Great Storm Emerged and Ruined the Celebration, MC nearly put her Life on the Line to save her Friends that is Until She had to Go back and save her Furry Grey Companion, Grim from being Trapped in the Flames. After Successfully saving Grim, The Boat's Supply of Fireworks was set off with MC still on the Ship exploded leaving the Survivng Students on the Life Boats in Shocked

Rielle feeling the need to do something he had to save her from Drowning

As the Dawn rose yet the sky filled with soft grey clouds, Rielle brought MC back to shore not leaving her side worried that she might not wake up, but faintly he could hear her Breathing and a Sigh of relief escaped from Rielle mouth as he then was enchated by MC's Beauty as she lays Unconscious and he then Sings his new Dream to be Part of Her World

The Group then Later finds MC on Shore, relieved as they can be the First Years Tackled MC in a Tight hug Happy that she was Ok. MC then starts to Say how there was a Boy who Saved her and how He Sang so Beautifully. The Bois thought she was Imagining things or being Delusional or she probably Drank too much Sea Water (Lol)

Except for Azul who knew exactly What MC was Referring to . . . which gave him an Idea for a Boy who always had an eye for a Bargain

To Make this Short, Azul then had Rielle visit the Monstro Lounge to make a Deal with him. Helping Him to Turn into a Human to both to Attend RSA and Meet the Female Prefect only for 3 Days but Can Succeed if He Kisses her through True Love. If she Doesn't Kiss her then He Turns Back to a Merman and be trapped in the Monstro Lounge as a Fish in a Tank Serving the Entertainment as a Decoration (& Azul will have MC all to Himself). Payment would be for Rielle to Give up his Voice and rely on other ideas to communicate with MC and his Friends in RSA

As Rielle enjoys his Time at RSA making New Friends and Meeting MC and visiting The Village to Bond more they both Almost Kissed (Kiss the Girl Scene) but Unfortunately failed after being knocked over from the Leech Twins who followed them to prevent Rielle from Succeeding. Leaving Azul to take matters into his own hands and using Rielle's Voice and a Disguises himself (Like Vanessa but a Male ver. Brown Hair, Purple Amethyst Eyes, and his Seashell Necklace that holds Rielle's voice).

You were visiting Mostro Lounge one day because a certain furball was craving one of their special drinks and he was pestering you all day to get one. You finally caved in after the 1999th time the furball has mentioned about Mostro Lounge’s lovely delicacies.

Since you had saved up your madol and you and Grim both got pretty good results from the latest exams, you figured it was a good way to celebrate by treating yourself and Grim to a meal.

Your orders had just arrived at your table and the two of you began to enjoy your food.

“Grim, chew slowly, no need to rush things.” You said to Grim who was munching down on his food like a madman. You laughed and shook your head before going back to eat, when all of a sudden you heard a voice call out to you.

“Why, if it isn’t (Y/N)!” You looked up from your food to see the dorm leader of Octavinelle standing in front of your table.

“Azul-senpai!” You responded to him with a smile.

“Mind if I take a seat beside you?” He asked and you shook your head, signaling that it was okay for him to sit beside you.

“You usually don’t come here often.” Azul said as he sat next to you. “What’s the special occasion?” He asked.

“Ah! Well, me and Grim got some pretty good results on last month’s exams! So, I figured to come here to treat the two of us as a job well done.” You smiled to him.

“I see, then congratulations to the two of you.” Azul said, an idea popping into his head as he did. “Perhaps you would like a little reward for your hard work.” He said with a small smirk on his face.

“Hmm? Little reward? Azul-senpai, you don’t have to.” You smiled to your upperclassman, going back to enjoying your food, but a hand had caught your chin and made you turn to look at Azul.

“Jade-senpai!” You called out and the upperclassman responded with a closed-eye smile.

“Lovely to see you here today (Y/N).” He replied to you. “And Azul, there are customers waiting for you in the VIP lounge, might I suggest you head on over immediately?” Jade continued with a hint of menace towards his dorm leader.

“A-Ah, yes, right, well, have a lovely time here (Y/N).” Azul said to you and left, slightly grumpy and grumbling as he went past his vice dorm leader.

“Goodbye Azul-senpai, take care!” You waved to your upperclassman as Jade took Azul’s seat beside you.

“Ah! You’re right, I was too busy wondering what Azul-senpai had meant by a little reward that I forgot my food.” You said and took a bite out of your dish. Jade simply let out a smile.

“I see, so, from what I have heard, you and Grim had gotten excellent results in the recent tests?” Jade questioned you and you nodded.

“Well, congratulations to the two of you.” Jade said and watched the two of you eat for a little while. He noticed that you were struggling with your dish.

“Fufufu, (Y/N), do you need some help?” Once those words left Jade’s lips, you immediately froze up, sighing internally.

“Y-Yes…” You stuttered, embarrassed of yourself for not being able to eat a dish properly. Although, I’m pretty sure it’s the students who cooked it too well done. Yes, Dear Reader-san, I am on your side on this and I blame the Octavinelle students for this.

So, you let Jade take your utensils and help you with your dish, you stared in awe as Jade managed to dice the tough meat into tiny little pieces. Jade then sets down the knife and uses the fork to pick up a small piece of meat.

“Jade-senpai? What’re you doing?” You asked, confused with your upperclassman’s actions at the moment. You immediately silenced yourself as Jade let his fingers of his free hand reach your chin and gently lifted your head slightly upwards.

“Oh, nothing much, I just wanted to let you try our dish without having you go through any hassle.” Jade said with a gentle smile, yet, he was slowly leaning in towards you and you were slowly being pulled towards him.

You hadn’t noticed that Jade had already set down the fork as the two of you continued to lean in towards each other, your lips were closer than ever. Jade opened his mouth slightly to mutter out the following words:

“Say ‘Ah’…”

“AHH!” A new voice appeared, leaving you and Jade in shock.

“KOEBI-CHAN!” And before you knew it, you were being pulled away by the twin brother of Jade.

“Why didn’t you tell us you were visiting?” Floyd continued to question you as the two of your walked further away from your table, leaving a dumbstruck Jade and Grim behind.

“Koebi-chan, next time you’re visiting, you should really tell us!” Floyd said as he dragged you around Mostro Lounge.

“Alright Floyd-senpai! I’ll be sure to give you a heads up next time!” You smiled and said.

“Hmm, what should we do first?” Floyd asked as he looked around.

“Well, we could go back and let me finish my food?” You told your upperclassman, the only thing on your mind at that moment was your unfinished food.

“Ehh? But it’s not fun!” Floyd said with a frown, the upperclassman continued to look around, trying to find something to do with you, after all, it was truly rare to see you at Mostro Lounge. It didn’t take Floyd too long to think of an idea.

“Ah!! I know! We should go for a swim!” Floyd suggested to you with a smile.

“But Floyd-senpai, aren’t you supposed to be working right now?” You asked.

“Ahh~ Azul and Jade won’t notice if we’re gone for a little bit.” Floyd said to you with a grin and continued to drag you towards the exit. “Plus, you promised that you’d go on a swim with me koebi-chan~” The upperclassman continued.

You guys began to head towards the exit of Mostro Lounge at full speed, due to Floyd being tall, your legs were having a slightly hard time trying to catch up with Floyd. Surprisingly, Floyd had noticed this.

“Ahahah! Koebi-chan is trying so hard!” Floyd laughed and stopped running, you pouted to him in response.

“Of course, your legs are longer than mine, your walking equals to me running.” You explained to your upperclassman. You were about to ask him to let you go back to your table so you could finish your food when you felt an arm on your back and another arm on your legs, and before you knew it, you were being lifted into the air.

You let out a small gasp as you come face-to-face with Floyd.

“Hahahaha! Koebi-chan is so light!” Floyd said, looking at you. The smile on his face slowly vanished as he continued making eye-contact with you, his face slowly leaned into yours as his hands on your figure tightened their grip on you and pulled you closer to him.

It was only a matter of time before-

“Floyd, what are you doing?” A very familiar voice was heard. You turned to the source of the voice to see Jade.

“Let’s get back to work before Azul comes back.” Jade said to his brother in a stern tone.

“Ehhh? But I haven’t played with koebi-chan!!” Floyd whined, hugging you closer to him.

“Azul would not be pleased to hear about this. Now, come, we must go back to work.” Jade said with a strict look on his face. Floyd let out a sigh as he saw the stern look on Jade’s face.

“Fine…” Floyd said and gently let you down from his hold.

“That’s better.” Jade said and turned to you with a smile. “So sorry about that (Y/N), we’ll be off now, enjoy your food.” Jade continued and did a small bow at you before going back to tending the customers of Mostro Lounge with his brother.

hello!! sorry to chime in suddenly, but i saw a lot of cool nickname analysis and wanted to add my own two cents! it's fascinating to me that floyd doesn't actually use "apex predators" as nicknames for any of the characters so far (other than sebek, but like if you DON'T look at sebek and think 'croccodile' then you're doing it wrong). As far as I know, no official reason for this has been stated in the game or shared by other characters. If I had to make an educated guess on why Floyd generally doesn’t give apex predator nicknames, I would say it’s because of his own selfish need to surpass others in strength.

In his Beans Day Camo personal stories, Floyd reveals to Epel that he wants to take on strong opponents (like Riddle), because he finds it to be exciting. In the Lyreless Brawl event itself, we see that Floyd refuses to follow Vil until Vil demonstrates his own strength and executes a flipping technique that catches Floyd’s attention. From these points, we can see that Floyd very much has an interest in overtaking powerful foes and learning new things to improve his own combat capabilities.

If Floyd were to nickname others after apex predators, I feel like that would come across to him as “I’m confessing that this person surpasses me in strength” every time he speaks their nickname, which hurts Floyd’s own pride. As we can see in his Beans Day Camo personal stories and in the Lyreless Brawl story, he’s willing and able to learn new things if it means enhancing his own abilities--but in calling others apex predators, it implies that they are naturally “above” him (because it is “in their nature” as the top of the oceanic food chain) and that, no matter how hard he tries to catch up, he won’t be able to. In this sense, granting an apex predator nickname to someone else would be relinquishing one’s own strength and confessing to their inferiority.

I think Floyd likes to leave the possibility of surpassing others “open” by not giving names that acknowledge another’s power. That way, there’s always a glimmer of hope that he can train and overtake them. It’s a matter of pride.

The next year Mailo is at NRC he bonds with Floyd. They become buddies and Floyd spoils him, much to Jade and Azuls chagrin.
