thinking about sitting on a couch, my head resting in a boy’s lap, and infodumping about my latest interest while he runs his fingers through my hair. i’m gesturing wildly and talking too fast and going off topic every other sentence, but he’s still nodding along and watching as if in that moment, my incoherent rambling is the most important thing in the world.

when i’m done, we switch spots. he talks about his newest interest with so much excitement and joy that i know i’m watching with the same gaze.
