not art reblog this is genuinely one of the most frustrating things to come out of both sides of this discussion it's not just games - calling chatgpt / midjourney / whatever 'ai' is a clever marketing technique i've had multiple conversations with people who believe that these things are the path to their science fiction pipe dreams or nightmares for that matter robot butlers. skynet. a replica of a dead loved one. a sentient machine. none of these things are the thing that generative 'ai' is  or is on its way to being. it's the same kind of intentional confusion that gets us this video game conversation sorry for the long screed in the tags here i try not to be too spicy but i am horrendously sleep deprived
