Its Canon. I've decided it's Canon so therefore it is. /j
headcanon that grover and percy are just completely incapable of arguing. might as well be canon too, cause like everytime in the books there's some conflict, it just goes like this:
percy: *narrating* i am so annoyed at grover. i am literally shaking with anger right now. I don't wanna talk to him 😠
grover: *sad brown eyes* sorry, percy 🥺
percy: .....
percy: what are you SAYING, it's all MY fault for getting mad 🥺 what is WRONG with me i'm so stupid please give me a hug 😭 you did nothing wrong ❤️
I think cavetown songs, at least some of them are so Percy Jackson coded, like devil town? Like " I forgot my name again I think that's something worth remembering" you can not tell me that's not either Percy or Jason ( or both) trying to get their memories back "spiders in your favourite shoes just leave them because I'm scared of you" Annabeth and it could be with both Arachne or her mother. " Falling doesn't feel so bad when I know you've fallen this way too " Percy and Annabeth Falling into tartarus. Actually that whole verse give major percabeth in Tartarus vibes "I'll lose my mind at least another thousand times, hold my hand tight, we'll make it another night, I still get a little scared of something new, but I feel a little safer when I'm with you" it can also be applied to Nico and will
"hold my hand tight we'll make it an other night?" Could be Nico, Reyna and coach Hegde.
"You said something dumb again, she's mad, at least that's what they say" Athena and Annabeth. "Mum and daddy aren't in love, that's fine, I'll settle for two birthdays" demigods
I fell like devil town has plenty of other verses that can be applied to pjo. And also other cavetown songs but, this one in specific, devil town, I just remembers me of pjo and HoO so much
I crash out when a tag I looked for is tagged but no where to be found in the post. Like ah yes a will x Nico art tagged Percico… for some reason
Someone should give me a fic with god Percy Jackson thanks
hear me out a fic where Percy doesn’t lose his memory’s when being reincarnated for whatever reason and find Jason or Nico(Nico for peak angst) in that life and falls in love and Slidell realizes he was in love with him in his previous life to. He’s in love with Jason in every life no matter who they are or why they are. If someone writes this please put link in comment or repost it with link to account or fix so I can read it please!! I can’t write well :(
when is this?
I WANT JERCY WEEK
waiting for jercy week 2025 to be happy and post fanfic every day for a week about my beloved children
It’s so silly when people are like “you can’t ship them with a girl they’re gay in canon!” Like sir/ma’am. What about all the gay ships you ship even through the characters are straight? I don’t get it
finally finished the first Percy Jackson book about 70 pages into the second one :)
Ok, ok.
So. I've had this theory floating around in my head for years but i've never actually talked about it.
The First Great Prophecy of the original Percy Jackson books is worded like this:
1. A half-blood of the eldest gods
2. Shall reach sixteen against all odds
3. And see the world in endless sleep
4. The hero's soul, cursed blade shall reap
5. A single choice shall end his days
6. Olympus to preserve or raze
Now, in Heroes of Olympus, Piper Mclean makes an interesting comment about the nature of the oldest olympian:
Now, the reason for one of the Big Three's children being prophesized is simply, that "gods often refer to the male ones."
When you put this into context, this seems, odd, doesn't it? Prophecies are intentionally misleading, and according to the wiki, "Regardless of how a prophecy is received, they all have one thing in common: they are cryptic. A prophecy will never say exactly what will happen,"
So why are the Big Three assumed to be the eldest gods, and why does everyone just go along with this explanation, the easiest one to believe?
(Ok, so what am I yapping about? what does this mean?)
Aphrodite is the eldest Olympian. Her daughter, Silena (oh, no.)
could be the (my) hero of the Great prophecy.
Let me explain each line first, then go through the entire theory.
First of all,
2. "shall reach 16 against all odds."
Silena was around 16 at the time of her death. The "odds" she's faced, apparently to make her decision (which I'll talk about later) are most likely just one "odd": Beckendorf's death. Unlike Percy, who's (assumed to be) our hero in the original story, she does not go through multiple quests to try and stop Luke/Kronos. This might make someone feel this argument is less compelling. However, Beckendorf's death and Clarisse's support rock Silena's foundations to the core, because she operated with Luke only under the belief that he would keep Beckendorf safe.
So yes, Silena made it to her current age against all odds.
" 'Against all odds' is an idiom that means something was achieved despite the odds being stacked against it." So absolutely, Silena made it against all odds.
3. And see the world in endless sleep
This section is pretty self-explanatory. In the Last Olympian,
So yes, as easily as this section applies to Percy, it easily applies to Silena. What's even more interesting is that in this specific scene, Silena is given a role.
Keep in mind up until this point Silena has basically been treated barely as a character, an accessory for Rick to use as an Aphrodite child Percy is semi-familiar with. Rick even regularly forgets the makeup of her physical features.
So yes, she does fit the third line of the prophecy.
Now you may think. "There's absolutely no way she can fit the last three lines of the prophecy into Silena's story. No. Absolute. Way."
But, dear reader, you misunderstand me. This is merely an alternate interpretation of the Great Prophecy that I honestly like better than the original one. Because it subverts expectations. Because it changes the way people see things, and prophecies seldom turn out exactly the way they are described. Percy at some point is just assumed to be the hero of the prophecy. I like this theory because it is exactly what a prophecy should be: it will never say exactly what will happen, in the way that you expect it to happen.
Let's move on to Line #4.
4. The hero's soul, cursed blade shall reap
Silena is established as the spy for Kronos in Book 5, The Last Olympian, Kronos begins taunting Percy with a bracelet that has a scythe charm on it: the method of communication he and his spy use. This scythe charm could very well be the "cursed blade" as Silena gives up her soul to be reaped by Kronos' cursed blade. Silena sells her soul in the hope of saving Beckendorf, and she loses her soul/life in the process of losing that blade. The cursed blade reaps, or kills, her.
If not for her association with Kronos and her later guilt that leads her to die for Clarisse, Silena would never have died. She wouldn't have been reaped. It's not as literal of a connection but it's a poetic one that still works quite well, especially in the tone of this side-arc mirroring the poem of Achilles and Patroclus.
5. A single choice shall end his days
("WAIT!!", you're saying. "IT SAYS HIS DAYS, NOT HER DAYS!!1!!!1 THEORY DISPROVED, AND YOU'RE A LIAR!")
Do you hear people say "humankind" very often? In many older texts, and partially in the current day, "him" was just the singular, default version of "they". Femininity had to be specified. This is why Thalia was considered a viable candidate for the prophecy.
Now, Silena's single choice was obvious: going out with Clarisse's helmet on. She sacrificed her life to lead the Ares cabin, which by the way was a major problem as they had the majority of the weapons and heavy fighters but refused to be moved out UNTIL Silena decided to step up and lead them.
#6. and More Explanation will be out in a part #2 I will write soon!!!
Someone on here ranted about their dislike for when Percabeth fanfictions have Annabeth's favourite color be sea-green or like Percy's eyes, and referenced their own Annabeth's favourite colour to be Lavender. And now I read so many fanfictions that have Annabeth's favourite color be either yellow (another color they mentioned,) or lavender. So much so, that I don't know whether they're happy about it or not
Watching a video on the Goat Man (Pope Lick Monster) and I’m wondering if in the Riordanverse, it’s just a feral Satyr
we got a seaweed brain
the percabeth is percabething and my brain chemistry is altered
i fucking cried
im so normal about them
Okay hear me out here.
The Percy Jackson movies are good.
Now I do have an explanation for this.
They’re good - ignoring the books. Like, if you take them away from being the stories of the books.
Like how they do Grover! I love Grover in the movies so much. I can’t lie, in the first movie, with the Hydra I think it was, all I could think of was that “OH SHIT! OH SHIT!” meme because that is so something Grover would do.
Now, I’ve just been watching them, I’m just starting Sea of Monsters right now, as I can’t wait for the series and can’t read the books right now, and I needed SOMETHING. I can’t really remember the movie too well, so I’m mainly talking about Lightning Thief in this post.
Just one thing that REALLY annoys me, regardless of the story, is when Percy and Luke are fighting, and Percy is about to be beat, so he uses the water from the water thingies to attack Luke.
That could have KILLED Luke, he was holding the embodiment of fucking lightning. Electrified water is very very dangerous, could have very easily killed Luke. Percy was being extremely reckless.
Also just the things that they miss out, like the Laestrygonians at the start of Sea of Monsters and Clarisse in Lightning Thief, and Tantalus in Sea of Monsters again. All these little things, would make it so much better. I understand that they didn’t have the time as it’s a movie, but at least Tantalus would have added to the movie so much if done well.
(Also random side note, I always imagined Clarisse as rather bulky, not a skinny little thing like in the movies.)
As amazing as the series looks, and it does look amazing, I think they should re-make the movies too. I don’t even care if they aren’t completely book accurate at this point, just make them a little bit better here and there, and they’d be amazing.
Thank you for your time.
or just overall go around assigning godly parents to random strangers in your head depending on what their vibe is
do you ever look at someone and go like “yep, that’s definitely a child of hermes”
do you ever look at someone and go like “yep, that’s definitely a child of hermes”
*judo flips* Annabeth when she meets Percy
"Mine, all mine!"
Annabeth when someone else tries to hit on Percy
"Hey, Annabeth?" Percy asked, poking his head into his bedroom, where his girlfriend was sitting cross-legged on the floor, solving some papers. "Yeah?" she asked without looking up as Percy plopped himself down next to her. "How long will you be staying?" The question made her pause, before she turned, eyes roving over Percy's look. "You see this?" she said quietly, raising her hand and twirling her finger around the only gray streak of hair in Percy's raven black head of hair. Her matching grey streak glinted in the sunlight as Percy's eyes darted up to where her finger was. "I'm going to stay with you till this one turns grey," her finger moved to twirl the neighbouring obsidian lock around it, "and this one," her finger went to the next one, "and this, till all of them match this one," her finger went back to the original grey strand, the only one in his hair, "I'll stay with you till we're both old and have grey hairs and I'll stay with you beyond that too."
Percy looked touched, warmth and surprise mingling in his sea green eyes, before he muttered sheepishly, "I was kind of referring to how long you'll stay at my place, 'cause Mom's asking if you're waiting till dinner-" "Oh my gods, Percy! You could have asked that better!" "What? I just asked how long you'll be staying!" "I thought you meant-forget it." "But, wait-" "Forget it." "Wise Girl-" "Forget it before I refuse to solve your papers." "Hold on, so...you'll stay with me forever?" "...of course, Seaweed Brain."
WARNING : Moana 2 Spoilers ahead
Who agrees that Moana is starting to become a LOT like Percy jackson?
First quest, removes the negativity from a bad god and makes them good(ish) Te Ka -> Te Fiti Ares / Hades -> Knocks down Ares' ego by a decent bit / Removes Hades from suspicion
And by the time the first movie is over, Moana's 'got all the gods talking', in Matangi's words. Percy Jackson did pretty much the same.
Zeus, the King of the Gods, god of skies and thunder, hates Percy. Nalo, the god of storms and lightning, hates Moana. See any similarities?
Artemis, a fierce huntress and daughter of Zeus, dislikes Zeus' ways, takes a liking to Percy. Matangi, a powerful bat demigoddess who's a subordinate of Nalo, wishes to overthrow Nalo, takes a liking to Moana. Tamatoa, a crab who talks with the gods themselves, was humiliated and hates Moana. ...everyone knows Percy's humiliated more than enough minor gods and is on the top of every monster's bucket list of 'Demigods I Wish To Devour'.
Percy has a bestie named Frank Zhang, a big strong guy who can turn into animals. Moana has Maui, who needs no description.
Percy has Leo, a crazy tinkerer who's the best mechanic to be found and fights with a hammer. Moana has Loto, who's just the same.
And thus, I rest my case that Moana is 100% a daughter or descendant of Poseidon, and that she and Percy should be siblings with a knack for gathering the undivided hate of all the gods. (I would die to see that AU made canon)
And, as a final point?
They both have adorable little sisters.
Chiron : (teaching English) 'The pen is mightier than the sword.' Can anyone tell me why?
Young Annabeth : Because pens are easier to sneak through metal detectors.
Chiron : NO
I just know same face syndrome hates to see you coming

You asked for requests for pjo so... how about seafam? Tyson shows Percy around the cyclops forge in Atlantis and then Poseidon invites them for dinner with Amphitrite and Triton?
I hope you know that I love you.
Warning: not proof read and my phone is broken so I can't see half my screen but I'm trying
☆°----------------------------------°☆
A cloud of colourful mist shrouded the air in front of Percy's face as he walked through the streets of New Rome to run a few errands for Annabeth. She was working on a project for her design class and needed materials which Percy was happy to retrieve while she worked on drawing up a plan. In the cloud of mist formed a tall, somewhat rounded shape, slowly coming into focus as Percy began to recognise the face of his younger half-brother, Tyson. He smiled. "Hey big man! What's up?" He asked, quickly brushing the shaggy hair out of his eyes to see him more clearly. Tyson smiled back, showing the gap between his teeth and the way his eye squinted when he grinned. Percy noticed his hair was shorter. What was formerly a bundle of curly tendrils on his head was now a buzz. Percy wondered if it was a choice or if his hair had caught flame in the forge. Sure cyclopes were fireproof but he wasn't so sure about their hair.
"Brother!" Tyson exclaimed enthusiastically. "No Annabeth?" He asked. Percy chuckled and shook his head, noticing Tyson grow a slight bit dejected. "Not right now, no. I'm running a couple errands for her, but I'll let her know you say hi." He assured him. Tyson nodded, his mood improving. The 2 caught up, sharing stories and little titbits of information. Tyson and Ella had just moved in together and Annabeth had just proposed. "I have a break." Tyson said. "2 weeks."
Percy nodded. "That's awesome. What are you gonna do with it?" Percy asked. He knew Tyson didn't get many breaks. Working in the forges of Atlantis was a demanding job. But he was happy to hear Tyson getting time off. "Would you mind visiting?" Tyson asked. The question surprised Percy. He didn't usually go to Atlantis unless his guidance counsellor was flushing him halfway across the world to talk to his dad about college applications (which were totally unfair by the way). He accepted the offer immediately, never missing an opportunity to see his little brother. Once the call was over he went home and told Annabeth the plan. "That's great." She said supportively. "But did you grab the supplies I asked for?"
The day finally rolled around and Percy was excited to see his brother. He had invited Annabeth to come along but she insisted she had truckloads of homework to do and that he should spend his brother bonding time just with Tyson. He got in his car and drove out to the beach where he got out, got into the water and swam out to the forges. It didn't take long to get there. He could swim at Mach 5 after all. That meant if he had a clear path he could swim around the earth in the same amount of time it'd take to watch shrek. An hour and a half. He remembered when Leo had pointed that out to him and it never fully left his mind.
Once he reached Tyson's house, he scooped him up in a tight hug. His back popped in a few places which his college exam posture greatly thanked him for, his rubs however didn't appreciate the gesture as much as his spine did. Once he was placed down, he and Tyson went outside into the yard and played a bit of soccer. Tyson absolutely destroyed him and Percy thanked nearly every God there was for the fact water gave him super strength because if it didn't he probably would've lost a leg. After a while of this the 2 easily got bored. "We could uhhh. . . Go for a walk?" Percy suggested. "You'd have to be a bit of a tour guide though. I've only been here like, twice." He added, laying on the couch next to Tyson who sat in a large armchair, Ella perched on the back of it. Percy suppressed a giggle. The sight made his brother look like a king of a myth. "I could show you around the forge." Tyson suggested.
"Isn't it your day off?" Percy asked. He didn't understand whytyson would wanna go to his workplace on his day off, but then Percy remembered Tyson actually liked working. He wasn't like him. He did his hobby for work and he was passionate about it so he figured he'd let him show him about.
Tyson led him to the forges, explaining the uses for each knick-knack and doohickey. He even let Percy try hammering a sword which went surprisingly well this time around. He showed him how they cool the weapons after welding and hammering and toiling. It was fun. Once they were done it was time for Percy to go home. The brothers arranged a time to meet up again in about a month and Percy hoped he wouldn't end up in a cuffuffle that prevented the plans from happening. He loved seeing his brother.
In year 8 for English it was a part of the curriculum to read the first Percy Jackson book and write an essay about his journey as an archetypal hero and before we started reading it my teacher walked up to me and was like 'you're gonna love this unit' and I ended up getting a B and I helped all my friends get Bs because I helped them with their exams because I was the only one that actually listened to the audiobook in class cus theyre lovers and all that and thought they were too cool to bother about their grades
you know what i think would be fucking hilarious? if percy was fighting a monster and instead of using his sword or some other demigod powers or magic he just straight up clocks it in the face. like he just starts throwing hands. he’s a new yorker. he got kicked out of multiple boarding schools. like fuck all the proper demigod ways of fighting, just BAM! have an unexpected knuckle to the face bitch
PJO SERIES SPOILERS
"that's annabeth. She's the athena cabins head counsellor" she's a baby and that's my boy malcolm WHERE IS HE
there's something really emotional for me about the Percy Jackson TV series
When my brother died and I lost alot of him, I found an absolutely destroyed book which I didn't even know the title of because the front pages had been ripped out and the cover had fallen off. The first line was "Look, I didn't want to be a half blood".
My brother had three pjo books - the lighting thief, the sea of monsters, and the battle of the labyrinth. I consumed those books looking for my brother, but when my mother bought me new versions, including the titians' curse, which explained a lot I didn't know before, I found my favourite series instead and a feeling of being seen with the whole adhd and dyslexic thing. I stopped looking for him.
But when I think about it, I did find him. He had Percy's sarcasm, Jason's sense of honor and doing right (I know he's HOO but he counts and I love him), he definitely had dyslexia but the jury's out on the ADHD, Chiron's knowledge from experiences none of us want to live through but want the lessons from, Classrie's fight and anger, Annabeth's real-life intelligence and street smarts, Tyson's unwavering devotion to his sibling (s in my brother's case), Luke's rage at the system, Bianca's unfair lot but determination to make life the best it can be for their younger siblings.
My brother died at 14 in 2013. He never saw me even hit double digits in age, never saw me go to university, never read Heroes of olmpus. But he's here, I think, in some small way.
Now, ten years from when I lost my brother, there's a TV series of what was his favourite series and mine. It's like reading the books for the first time again and finding my brother again.
