I tried to make it look like Tawnykit was tired of just listening to stories about Tigerstar from the elders and warriors

I haven’t been in this fandom since 6th grade
Does anyone ever think about how the clans used to actually have differences in culture and lifestyle and how all of that got erased in the newer books?
Imagine how cool it would have been if the Erins had explored these cultural differences between the clans even FURTHER because that would have given the series so much potential.
Here are some examples of just how cool cultural differences can be:
I want to see RiverClan using their skills in swimming way more than they do currently, let them swim to the gathering island every full moon, let them attack other clans from the depths of the lake and drag cats down into the water to drown them. Let them still have their easygoing and relaxed attitude but show how formidable they can be in a fight and make it clear that they are not to be messed with.
Give them their own traditions too, let them celebrate the coming of spring each year because of ice melting and the river thawing so that they can fish again. Let them collect pretty flower petals on this day to decorate their dens and have them celebrate it by all going down to the river to fish.
Show their clan’s love for pretty trinkets and have them gather pretty shells and pebbles from the river. Let the apprentices play games this way by seeing who can find the prettiest shell for their den and boasting about it later. I imagine the other clans would view them as relaxed and easygoing, always having a ready source of food thanks to the river but at the same time they know to fear them for their almost unnatural fighting skills in the water.
Imagine WindClan still keeping their old tradition of tunnelling even at the lake territory, imagine WindClan tunnellers accidentally discovering the old forgotten tunnels that run under the forest and finding out pieces of their history this way, possibly even before Jayfeather does. I wish they had kept the tunnelling tradition alive because that was what made WindClan so unique.
Show just how fast WindClan can be, let them use the tunnels to invade other territories and let them be almost impossible for the others to catch up to. They might be considered scrawny but show that they have an advantage in battle because of their uncanny speed.
In general let them have a closed off and cold approach to the other clans. Show that they think they are closer to StarClan than the others because they live and sleep under open skies. They might seem almost mysterious to the other clans and deeply rooted in their traditions. Let them have oral storytelling nights and let them chart constellations in the night sky, keeping alive the tales of their ancestors.
The could even believe that the wind which blows over the moors is holy, the echo of the voices of their ancestors. I picture them as a religious clan, even more than the others. Perhaps they pray by listening to the wind and leaving offerings to be blown away in the breeze (usually the feathers of birds of prey)
Next up is ShadowClan, the stereotypical bad guys. I would have loved if ShadowClan had been shown to follow a more nocturnal lifestyle, being active mostly at night. They would be masters of stealth, blending into the shadows and coating themselves with mud and leaves for camouflage due to their territories limited undergrowth. This might be what gives them their stereotypical bad smell, that ThunderClan always complains about.
Their territory is very marshy and due to little undergrowth it would be harder for them to stalk prey. This has caused them to be the stealthiest out of all the clans and the best hunters. But they are also able to use this stealth to their advantage in a fight. They attack without warning from the shadows and rely on surprise, always striking at night when it’s hardest to see them.
Their tradition could be the celebration of the winter solstice, the longest night of the year.
And finally we have the main protagonists ThunderClan. This clan has always felt bland to me in terms of tradition because they don’t seem to have anything that really makes them stand out. I imagine they are probably the best trackers due to having to hunt and track prey in thick bushy undergrowth.
But honestly I would have loved if they had been given something to make them special and unique. Any ideas?

ShadowClan’s apprentices: Sprucepaw and Redpaw. Some of my favorite new characters from Changing Skies. I really like their names especially since we haven’t gotten the suffix “Red” since Redtail im pretty sure. Spruce I don’t remember hearing once so that’s a good one too. I’ve already drawn all of ThunderClan’s newest kits/ apprentices so Beechkit, Quickkit, and Poolkit are next for ShadowClan.
Shadowsight! This took forever just because of the code breakers and Ashfur. I also realized too late that some of the characters look wonky. (Twigbranch Xd)
Top left is Shadowpaw watching Pouncepaw and Lightpaw leave for their first patrol
Top right is Shadowpaw with Dovewing and Tigerstar
Bottom left is Ashfur, Shadowpaw/sight, and the seven codebreakers
And then bottom right is just Shadowsight full body.
I think I’ll do Rootspring next since I’ve done two TBC pov characters already :3

I’ve decided to post my story on here! These are the allegiances for all the clans and there will be updates throughout the story. I hope you will enjoy this and I will post 1-3 times a week!
Y’all I finished reading Wind. It’s so good! Some of the parts are…….boring….but I think every book has that. Lol. I am NOT happy that I have to wait till November to read Star! I hope y’all can read it soon. Ima make some tan-art sometime soon if Wafflepaw, Bristlepaw, Graypaw, and Stempaw. And maybe Splashtail and Curlfeather.
Here is Wind! I got it earlier today and I’m half way done! I love it and I’m very interested. I have some very good theories too abt what will happen to Frostpaw, Sunbeam, and Nightheart.
-my first theory. So we all know Splashtail (at the end of Thunder) claims he’s leader. What I think will happen is he gets rejected by StarClan and then exiled or murdered. Then I think Icewing will be leader because when Nightheart and Frostpaw went to the park, Bee said he had a dream that he was standing on a river of ice. (Are you catching on?) so I’m thinking that was a vision showing that Icewing is supposed to be RiverClans leader as Icestar!
I think Nightheart and Sunbeam will be in ThunderClan or whatever. I mean they got no more drama. (Other than Sunbeams parents and brother being in exile) but literally they are fine. Sunbeams in ThunderClan, Nightheart is with her, and everyone’s happy. Sooooo….unless they are gonna help Frostpaw then they are fine and there is nothing to theorize about. (Also I think they are going to have kits in Star or the ninth arc.)
I tried not to put anything from wind in this so not to spoil for anyone!
nightheart design
love my emo son
I drew this after River came out last year
I love this scene and Nightheart is definitely my fav character so far /ᐠ。ꞈ。ᐟ\ hes just so emo and edgy
A promised ref for some of the background cats in the last page. This one has slightly different style due to how quickly it was made, but the rest should be more consistent. ---- Current Name: Tallcloud Clan: ShadowClan Rank: Warrior - Fighter, Trainer, Guard
Status: Alive Age: Around 4 Years Gender: Agender (Any Pronouns) Parents: Mossystone (sire), Unknown Mother Siblings: Miststripe Mate: Viperleap Kits: None Yet
Info: Tallcloud is a quiet and serious cat, which can be found either resting or training. She is considered the most taleneted fighter and despite her relatively young age she is quickly picking up a knack for teaching others.
He deosnt seem to be interested in the leading position, prefering to be in charge of smaller group of cats than the entire Clan. Despite their quiet nature, they appreciate humor, which is why they picked Viperleap as their mate. Tallcloud enjoys the shenienigans the tom gets into and is essentially his protector. But when it comes to nonsense or drama, she prefers to just walk away, ignoring it entirely until she deems it too disruptive for regular clan life. In these cases she tends to pin cats down until they calm down, few cats being capable of escaping her firm grip.
This nurturing nature was pointed out to them by their family, which made Tallcloud wonder… Maybe he could have kits soon? In apperance, Tallcloud is rather muscular, on top of having rounder features. She is of average size.
While I'm doing the next page, here is Roaringstar's referance! And below I added info on him in more organized manner than Patchcloud. I also added tags to find things easier. I will eventually put Patchcloud's info in the same form.
________
Current Name: Roaringstar (Roaringlion) Clan: ShadowClan Rank: Leader (Warrior - Fighter, Lead)
Status: Alive (Prologue), Dead (Chapter 1) Age: Around 17 Years Gender: Cis Male (He/Him) Parents: Unknown (Clanborn) Siblings: Unnamed, dead during kithood Mate: Warmfur (Strained) Kits: Darkroar (Elder Son), Dawnlight (Younger Son), unnamed dead kits from 3 litters total Info: Roaringstar is a proud, assertive and ambitious cat, with a tendency to promise big things and rarely follow through on them. The only thing he would remain consistent at is leading his cats into battles, most of which he won during his prime, but eventually this streak would begin to decline as he aged and lost more lives. As he was on his last 2, he completely stopped going out himself, only sending his deputy and warriors out. When said deputy died during one of the many conflicts with ThunderClan, it seemed Roaringstar completely lost it, not leaving his den, screaming at everyone who questioned him and on top of all of that refusing to name a deputy. Before his health worsened, he promised to lead ShadowClan out of the twolegplace, as it became far too dangerous to live there. But then that got moved to when he will get better… Which he never did. Roaringstar’s was considered charming back in the day, but it eventually wore off as cats grew tired of constant battles and empty promises. He wasn’t a good mate either, often yelling and threatening his mate when she didn’t give him what he wanted. And when he got it, she would be left ignored. His older son rather quickly began to push himself away from any kind of relationship with his father, due to how he treated his mother, though the younger son would remain close.
Thinking about making a Warrior Cats comic about my ocs. Unsure about that cuz Im focused on uni and fully original story, but when Im burnt out on original stuff I could work on that. Maybe, idk.
Anyways, here is Patchcloud, a healer focused more on the herbal and healing aspect rather than spiritual. She has a rather weak connection with StarClan, never recieving any kind of omens, even minor ones. She relies on her instinct and knowleadge instead, though she does not doubt StarClan's existance. She simply tries not to think about them much, even when adhearing to traditions and rituals.
She is reserved and prefers to focus on work, even during free time. While appearing grumpy, she is not, she is a realist and doesn't like lying directly, though withholding truth isn't beyond her, especially when someone doesn't listen. She is generally calm and even during stressful situations is capable of holding herself. Born to ShadowClan-allied stray and a kittypet, she tended to remain on the outskirts of the Clan, until her apprenticeship to current healer at the time, who turned out to also have a weak connection to StarClan (him being born a raised a stray until joining) and he was the only comfort she had in when it came to anxiety about her not being good enough for her job. At least until he died. His name was Voideyes.
Something important to note when it comes to the story and worldbuilding is that its changed from the original... A lot in some places. Some of it is based on my old ideas of the WC world (back when I didnt understand English properly and relied on AMVs and very few translations).
So... ShadowClan kinda takes space of BloodClan? As in they live in the city, at least until the beginning of the story (Raven's Flight), and they have a lot of semi-members and friendly strays who stay behind in the city, until a second wave of moving several years later. In general they are very friendly with strays. loners and kittypets, and had less aversion to eating kittypet food, until Jawstar's rule (2 leaders before the current one post-prologue)
