"doomed by the plot" "doomed Yuri" "doomed-
Doomed twins; twins doomed by the narrative. Twins that constantly have to push uphill without the other.... What about that, huh?
I swear Bakugo "I thought I'd be on your heels for the rest of our lives" Kacchan and Nagi "to play soccer with you forever would be enough for me" Seishiro have me on the edge of the cliff.
If they're pushing me forward or holding me back it's still unknown.
Atp save yourselves the 8 years saving for a damned suit and whatever redemption arc Kaneshiro is putting Nagi through and ask them to marry you.
Just like the roman empire, they got divided and half fell through.
Now what's left standing has his heart broken.
Today, i'm thinking about Hadestown and the celebration of a doomed narrative. I'm always a sucker for a doomed narrative, but for Hadestown, it's different because of course it's heartbreaking, its devestating and unfair and they're so close, but also because it's seen as a triumph. Because the very first song it tells you what this story is. Even if you dont know the story of orpheus and eurydice, it tells you the basics going in. It's an old song, it's a love song, and most of all it's a sad song. It's a tragedy. And then the rest of the musical is spent falling in love with the characters. The whole story is spent making you forget that first song. And it works. You're rooting for them, you want them to succeed. They're walking out of hell theyre gonna make it and they can be happy and orpheus turns around. And it feels like a betrayal, because it's so heartbreaking because how did you forget? It's made more so by the Road to Hell reprise, when Hermes retells yoy everything he already said. When he stops singing and tells you what you forgot. It's a tragedy. It feels almost like a beratement, because of course he turns around, that's how it goes. Why would this time be any different? It feels like a cruel reminder of our own stupidity.
And yet...it's not. Hermes says it himself. There's power in knowing how it ends and singing it again anyway. It's a celebration of that stubborness to see them get a happy ending. A celebration of the fact that we're all just little kids demanding the story be told again and to get it right this time Because they deserve their happy ending, they deserve to get out, even if we know it's impossible. It's triumphant because in the face of gods and death and hell itself, we are here demanding it be done again and again because they have to get it right eventually. And its true, because I listen to the soundtrack over and over and each time I get to the end my heart is ripped out of my chest because I thought it was going to end differently this time. And when it doesn't, I listen to it again. It's a blessing from hermes to be defiant in the face of cosmic forces for the simple fact that they were in love and they should get to be in love. A celebration of not the tragedy, but the refusal of it.
mitski - i’m your man
i’ll stitch you back together
i love you and for that you must die
frankenstein but make it sapphic
do i look like your girlfriend?
I am a demanding creature. I am selfish and cruel and extremely unreasonable. But i am your servant. When you starve I will feed you; when you’re sick I will tend you. I crawl at your feet; for before your love, your kisses, i am debased. For you alone, I will be weak
you’re my best friend
now i’ve no one to tell
how i lost my best friend
i was not made for casual love
i was made for soul crushing devotion
you don’t how long i’ve waited for this….
over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and-
if saving you is a sin i’ll gladly become a sinner
doomed yuri save me doomed yuri
Some days are harder than others.
Returning to our Roots follows Debbie after the death of her girlfriend, Slackjaw, one of the most infamous mercs in New Bright City. Debbie has to deal with her grief while the world around her becomes more and more hostile and chaotic.
Remember, in a cyberpunk world, there are no happy endings. Though, that doesn't mean the endings aren't cathartic.
no they're worse than lovers, they're doomed by their narrative.
An interesting but devastating curse, A quite literal take
Was NOBODY going to warn me about the amount of doomed yaoi in Sonic 3???
And, there's more!
Lord forbid men with white and black hairs have a normal and happy Situationship without it being doomed as fuck :(
wreck and nice as satosugu ☹️
from this jjk scene!
Had a shower and thought of mixing together my two favorite doomed narratives! I especially have been wanting to make Madoka Magica fanart for a while to get hyped for the new movie! I did my best to follow most of the plug suit conventions and add as many references as I could. Individuals close up under the cut! Explanation of references also down there too!
Homura has the demon wings due to her suto villain status during the beginning of the anime and her crash out in the movies becoming Devil Homura(yes I know her wings are feathered but it's the symbolism!! I put the 3 circles on her time travel shield on her chest and did my best to have it be the armor on the plug suit, Making the lines on it follow the design of the shield as well. Her cloves have dual diamonds representing her soul gem which is kept on her hand. I even had her ribbons drawn in as the arm details. For Madoka, I incorporated her soul gem on her stomach along with her neck as I based a lot of her plug suit off Rei and Mari's suits In the proper series and Rebuild. Both Homuras Nerolink is a reference for her wings as well while Madokas is just based on her hair bows. This was a fun small study and experiment for the lols of drawing fanart.
every once in a while I remember the 'your characters/stories/ideas will die with you if you don't share them' so I have to share them!!!
They aren't in love and they never will be!
AND SURE YOU CAN ARGUE THAT THEY ARE IN FACT CODEPENDENT
but look at the cast
....and notice how there isn't one anymore
doomed by the narrative. I REST MY CASE !!!
dean and sam's relationship is so abrgajndk
because when it comes down to it dean doesnt treat sam like a brother instead he takes on the role of a parent without meaning to because he was literally forced to raise sam when they were growing up, and he can't let go of that mindset.
multiple times in the show he says shit like "you're not a kid anymore, you can take care of yourself" but he still takes care of sam anyway because it's what he's been doing his entire life. sam was venting about not having a mom or dad around during holidays but you wanna know who was there DEAN WAS THERE DEAN SET UP THE CHRISTMAS DECOR AND GOT GIFTS BC JOHN ABANDONED THEM ever since they were young john made dean promise he'd protect sam no matter what to the point where dean sold his SOUL for sam "they're codependent!" NO DEAN JUST TREATS SAM LIKE HE'S HIS SON
sorry im tweaking out i love supernatural
they were doomed from the beginning
a soul he refused to curse
