Plato, The Republic. Quote. OMG! so.... I was learning about Plato online since I was told to, and GOSH! there's a quote that reminds me of something. I was looking up quotes from him to write to fill up the space on my poster of him, and this quote reminds me of Charlotte completely. "For every one, as I think, must see that astronomy compels the soul to look upwards and leads us from this world to another". It's like when Yuu's little sister had a hobby of astronomy, and she compels the soul (somehow) and led Yuu to the other world, AKA, the real original world that they had loved in, hinting about a big brother, and also knowing about the asteroid, Charlotte. Just a click that came to my mind. š¤·

āBut donāt forget who you really are. And Iām not talking about your so-called real name. All names are made up by someone else, even the one your parents gave you. You know who you really are. When youāre alone at night, looking up at the stars, or maybe lying in your bed in total darkness, you know that nameless person inside you.ā

I wonāt let you take advantage of women! Hereās the Mars Power flame of anger! Iāll punish you in high heels!
āI want to know you whether youāre afraid of sharks or spiders death or love. I want to know if itās grammatical errors that drive you crazy or the people correcting them, if youāre more comfortable shaking sand out of your hair or snow, if you prefer coffee or tea, bars or board game nights. I want to know which of your friends youāve cried in front of, if youāve ever laughed chocolate milk out of your nose, or kissed someone you didnāt love. I want to know you the you beneath the layer of small talk always kept shined and smudgeless Iām just hoping one day youāll invite me in.ā

...Iām tired.
Not physically, but in an emotional way...
I feel like I hide too much...
From friends,
From family,
From everyone...
...Iām tired of this mask...
When can I take it off?...
Why is kindness such a rarity?
Who made it abnormal to treat another human as if they actually are a living, breathing being?
What caused us to retreat so far into ourselves that we donāt notice the pain around us?
When did we become like this?
...and how can we change it?
Remus: [drunk at a random muggle bar] oh my best friend, Sirius, his parents were abusive so he hated violence. Anything that would hurt people, too.
Random woman at the bar: where is Sirius tonight?
Remus: oh, heās in prison for murdering our best friend
Remus: kinda wish he left a note, yk?
real asf iām so tired of ts
Friends? Again? Nah.
And If I could go back to the day we met, Iām sorry, but I would turn around and walk the other way.
Your soul knows. It will let you know when it's time to distance yourself from people who no longer align with you mentally, emotionally, physically, or energetically.
i don't think i'm ready for when nostalgia is all that's left of my childhood
When we are learning, almost by definition, we are going through the harrowing, humbling experience of recognizing how ignorant we really were up until this very minute.
āI long so much to make beautiful things. But beautiful things require effort and disappointment and perseverance.ā
Vincent van Gogh
As often as Herman had witnessed the slaughter of animals and fish, he always had the same thought: in their behavior toward creatures, all men were Nazis. The smugness with which man could do with other species as he pleased exemplified the most extreme racist theories, the principle that might is right.
Isaac Bashevis Singer, Enemies: A Love Story
The first [misconception] is that philosophy itself will make you shrewd and dangerous, whereas, in fact, it will teach you to be a fatuous imbecile, but to feel satisfied with your own fatuousness (and, thus, departments of philosophy have neither been the laboratories of revolution, nor even the dodgeball tournaments of revolution).
Sooner or later, Sam is going to die. What are people going to say about him after heās dead? That he was a good man? That he was a kind man? That he accomplished something great, or even that he had great aspirations that he never accomplished, but that show the goodness of his intentions in this life, in this world?

Starting today Iām going to be a man with courage in his heart. When a person falls to the very depths of suffering - where he can find no escape - he is somehow able to find new courage.
Dazai Osamu, A New Hamlet
Thereās not a single person back home who reads my works. Or, if they do read them, no doubt they merely focus with a pitying smile on the vile nature of the main character, recounting his flaws to others with exasperated shakes of the head, scornfully deriding me for bringing shame upon our homeland. Once, four years ago, when I briefly met my eldest brother in Tokyo, he told me to stop sending my books to the relatives. āNot even I want to read them,ā he said. 'When the relatives read what you write, how do you think theyā¦ā He didnāt finish, but bowed his head, as if the words had caught in his throat, but heād said enough to make things perfectly clear to me. I didnāt intend to send another one of my books back home as long as I live.

You wait and wait for happiness, and when finally you can't bear it any longer, you rush out of the house, only to hear later that a marvelous happiness arrived the following day at the home you had abandoned, and now it was too late. Sometimes happiness arrives one night too late.
Dazai Osamu, Schoolgirl
"Have I met you anywhere?" Dazai smiles a smile of no personality. "No. This is the first time we met."
