oh wow so many pretty woman are liking my posts and following, i must be irresistible
weirdly enough, the constant in my life currently that keeps me a little more grounded though my constant state of depression is the sheer amount of bots i find myself blocking at the end of the day
Everyday I block the spam bots like an old grumpy man chasing kids off his lawn
Me: OH hey! A tumblr notification, cool! Maybe somebody has interacted with my account! Let's check it out.
*looks at activity*

The Bots:
Hi! Just wanted to pop in here because lately, my activity has been flooded with a bunch of random bots following me, i'm sure those that have more experience with tumblr can related, but for an example, here is a recent account that has followed me:
All of them have a username that sounds like a name generator came up with it (Bonus points if there's a number added) have a random picture of a female as its pfp, and nothing on their blog. Same thing over and over at nauseam.
I wanted to bring this up because i've gotten follows from these accounts for what feels like forever at this rate, even though I haven't posted much since the sunky zalgo drawing a while back. If you just so happen to have a similar experience with such bots let me know
That's about all I have for now, uh, stay awesome and don't get zapped by the terminator.

Sad to announce there’s a new kind of spambot, basically an account that likes your posts. The pfp is usually an attractive woman and the content of the blog is 100% nsfw.
They’re liking posts, and if i’m not mistaken, yall can see who likes my posts. Been trying to ban them as I see them, but if I miss one, i’m deeply sorry if you click on who liked my posts and end up seeing those profiles (i’m a regular “searches for other fans of my obscure interests by looking at the notes”er, so)
I swear to all those who are holy and true I'm gonna hurt someone if I get another bot follow.

This weird thing happened to me too. It was nice at first because "Ahh! 😃 Someone likes my work!" To "Wait da second? Why is this person commenting on how moving my writing is on my fanfic where I just post pictures? 😵"
Out of all the spammers I got, these bots were the nicest. (Especially after the panderers attempting to snag kids on my PG fanfic. 😡) But I still wish the person wrote a real comment actually praising parts of my work. (Again, praising me for moving writing on the fanfic with only artwork [not a comic], didn't even mention the AU the pictures were for)
Good news, haven't seen the bots in months. If they show up tomorrow, a work is getting put on private.
Any other AO3 writers getting spammed by comments that actually look like real comments but are rather… repetitive? They’re nice, effusive even, but after the second or third one I got suspicious. Not sure what the point of them is. Can’t find any links or anything that would make it a trap. Any ideas?
