Caught // TMNT x Reader.

Imagine stumbling into the turtle’s lives by pure accident, falling from a fire escape and landing right into their arms. They’re expecting you to be shocked or scared or something…but you’re barely even phased at the sight of the giant turtles standing in front of you.

Why?

“Well, I’ve seen at least one of you over the years…like, a lot.”

Leonardo is stunned.

Stupidly, obviously stunned. Always so proud of his ninja training, he takes great pleasure in being the “unseen.” Just a shadow in a darkened alley, a swift blur in the corner of a stranger’s eye, a stolen sight that one might brush away as mere imagination and nothing more. So knowing that you’ve caught them numerous times is, well, a little embarrassing for him.

Okay, it’s more like a lot.

“Who have you seen?” He asks quietly.

“Well,” you said as you carefully gathered the books and papers that had spilled from your bag, “I’m actually pretty sure it was you. I’ve seen you running over the rooftops a lot and I remember your swords.”

And now it was just plain humiliating. Raph scoffed in utter delight, already coming up with a million and one smug remarks to make, and he could see Donnie and Mikey sharing smiles. All the times he’d scolded his brothers about being more careful, warning them to avoid being seen, were now coming back to haunt him. Oh, he was never going to hear the end of this, he just knew it! They would be bringing this up for years and years.

Leonardo looked away from his brothers and back towards you, watching as you carefully inspected your phone for chips and cracks.

“If it’s damaged, I can fix that,” Donnie said helpfully.

“I think it’s okay…” you replied, “But thank you. And thanks for catching me before I, you know, fell to my death.”

“Uh…anytime.” Leonardo replied, his brain feeling fuzzy from the embarrassment and confusion.

“See you guys around.”

And just like that you were gone, walking off into the city and leaving Leonardo standing with his brothers. At once the teasing he’d already been expecting started up, Raph ragging on him and the other two only joyfully encouraging him, but for once…he didn’t care. Not even when Don joked about telling Splinter, not when Raph told him he ought to train more. Instead he watched you walk away and wondered when he might see you again.

Perhaps next time he was running across the rooftops, he’d stop and say hello…

Donatello isn’t really too surprised.

Statistically speaking, a good number of New Yorkers have seen that turtles from time to time. After all, they’ve been living in the city for all of their twenty-two years and have been active on the surface for eight of those now. There are quite a few humans out there who’ve caught a look at them, leading to stories of some sort of man-eating turtle cryptid living in the city waterways…there are some interesting sites out there.

But math doesn’t lie and you’re not the only one who has seen them…just one of the few who has gotten to actually meet them.

“Really?” Mikey piped up.

“Yeah,” you replied with a shrug. “But it’s not really a big deal or anything. I mean, this is New York City after all. I’d honestly be a lot more surprised if there weren’t giant turtles running around here at night.”

“How many times have you seen us?” Leonardo questioned, his blue eyes glancing sharply at his brothers.

“A lot of times through the years. Running around on the rooftops, getting into a few fights with gang bangers…actually, you know, I think I’ve seen him more then the rest of you.”

You had pointed right at Donatello when you made that little comment and already he could feel Leonardo’s glare settle on the back of his shell. He wondered if his elder brother would care too much about his argument for statistics…probably not! But you were smiling a little, brushing the dirt off of the Dittos that covered your black dress.

“And…you’re cool with that?” Donnie asked.

“Yup.”

“Then…so are we! Right, guys?”

His brothers chimed in, agreeing with the sentiment. And with that, you were off, grabbing your button-covered bag and walking away to catch your bus.

“See you around…?”

“Uh, Donnie. My name’s Donnie.”

“Later, Donnie.”

Forgetting about the impending doom that loomed over him (he could already hear Leonardo’s scolding and feel that sting in his muscles from Master Splinter’s punishment, which was sure to be brutal and terribly clever), Donatello grinned to himself as you vanished into the city…but he was certain that he would see you again.

And maybe you wouldn’t mind that at all…

Michelangelo is curious.

You saw them? For years? And you didn’t freak out or anything? That was rare for humans. Even compassionate people like April got a little freaked and, yeah, he couldn’t really blame anyone for screaming…still hurt though. They were no monsters, even if some people thought otherwise (Donnie had shown them those cryptid sites and he hadn’t liked that much). He’d been expecting screaming or fainting or something…

And yet here you were, cool as a cucumber!

“Just one of us?” Donatello asked, clearly eager for answers. “Do you know which one?”

“Oh…I dunno…” you murmured, running a hand through your hair as you thought it over. “He’s an artist.”

At once Michelangelo felt his Leo and Don glaring at him and Raph, both who claimed that honorable role as artists. The two brothers shared a guilty glance, each of them wondering who had earned himself one of Leonardo’s long lectures.

“I’ve seen him spray painting these gorgeous pieces! There’s these blue angel wings and this neon melting heart by the place I work-”

“Mikey!” Leonardo snapped, Don slapping the back of his head simultaneously.

“You’re Il Divino?”

Well, his secret was out. Michelangelo had been sneaking out every so often to paint the worn out brick and cracked concrete of New York City with his art…and now everyone knew. Including the pretty human in front of him. The fact that she liked his art so much made it possible to pretend that he wasn’t about to be destroyed by his brothers.

“I love your art…especially that roses beneath the bridge!” you chirped happily. “It’s been a while since I’ve seen it around.”

“I’ve been, uh, busy.”

“Well…” you said, picking up your sharpie-covered messenger bag, “if your schedule clears up, I hope to see your work again.”

“Yeah…”

Then you were gone, giving the turtle a little smile as you walked away. Already he was planning a new piece, something with neon pink…and a girl with a bright smile. Leonardo’s lecture began as Raph and Don walked away, laughing to themselves.

And Mikey was stunned totally stupid, wondering what you would think of his next piece…

Maybe he’d get to ask you!

Raphael is unsure.

From the second you nearly fell on top of Leonardo, he’d been expecting the whole shebang. Screaming, panicking, all that good stuff. It happened to them about every time a human managed to find them, a guy starts to expect it. But you could not care less and he…

He’s the confused one right now.

Since getting back on your feet, you hadn’t been even a little phased. Perhaps the fall had scared you but the turtles had not. Straightening your jacket, the metal and plastic pins caught his eye. A lightning bolt, several sarcastic phrases, a red eye. They were cool. You were cool, sighing as you looked back at the turtles.

“When have you seen one of us?” Leonardo asked. “Who?”

“I dunno…which one of you likes to stand on rooftops and angrily scream into the sky a couple times a week?”

At once all of his brothers turned and looked right at him, an unspoken answer to your question. Raph looked away, face hot and eyes burning. Raph’s temper was well known to his family…and apparently to you too.

“Uh…ya heard me, huh?”

“Actually, I screamed back at you once. I believe I told you you to get your crap together and stop throwing fits at four in the fucking morning.”

“That was you?”

Hands on your hips, you looked at the turtle with confidence and attitude. It was almost like you were daring him to snap back, ready for a bite back…he almost wanted to take you up on it! You were not, he realized, even a little bit afraid of him. Shocking for a human but strangely comforting at the same time for the turtle.

“Yup.”

“Why ain’t ya mad at me?”

“I was for a while. But then I saw you beating some Purple Dragons into the dirt and I thought, eh, give the guy a chance.”

Raphael grinned, chuckling beneath his breath. Clearly, you were not like most other humans. He felt certain that if aliens landed right here in font of you, you’d probably just tell them to get out of your way because you were late and trying to get home.

“I gotta go. It’s nice to finally meet you…?”

“Raphael.”

“Later, Raphael.”

He liked it. The glint in your eyes and edge to your grin, the way you said his name…there was just something about you that he liked. And there was something else telling him that this wasn’t the last time he’d see you.

He was looking forward to it.

MIKEY IS

Hes the one at the top. The one that’s holding ALL THAT WEIGHT UP with ONE HAND in the first pic, and still IN ACTION in the second. With RAPH SECOND to last. He never struggles holding on when ALL that weight is pulling down. Even when Leos chucking his katana, Raph swinging April towards Shredder so she can kick his metal ass off and he grabs onto the pole with his free hand without a prob.

And he still remains chill. 

This is one of the reasons why i love this goodball. 

And lets not forget Donnie tho. He looks all slinky yet still fit and hes SECOND. Hes holding Leo April AND RAPH as well. 

There all truly amazing. 

Mikey anon here: pffft Donnie’s my fave! So don’t apologize it’s just Mike’s my other fave 🥺 thank you for that insight I loved it! On a more sappy note, whats the moment the boys just KNEW this was the s/o for them like the “oh I’m in love” moment

The way you were so nice and attentive towards his family.

It’s hard to explain, but that big heart of yours simply filled him with love.

And how you were so patient and always willing to listen to him. That meant the whole world.

Forget training at almost every waking hours of his day; now he wants to spend time with you and just bask in your presence!

Everytime he feels your hand on his arm whenever you want to emphazise on something, there’s a firework going on in his mind.

That fierce look in your eyes, that confidence in your smile, the way you knew you were right and he was wrong.

Oh he was wrong, alright. Wrong to ever ignore that you were freakin’ AWESOME.

Ever since that moment you both were not afraid to play a little rougher with one another, but he was always so careful with you nonetheless.

When you took interest in his tech/projects. Simple as that.

To see that curiosity in your eyes. That smile of yours that simply told him “I need to know more!”.

His heart was racing at that moment and he tried so goddamn hard to contain his joy, although he was smiling like a fool.

The way you also always seek out to him, just to at least say “hello” and “how are you?”.

And the first time you brought him coffee, he was floating on a cloud.

Your laughter.

To see and hear you be so amused by his jokes and various shenanigans; he knows you’re the one.

You see, he can clearly hear the difference for when you’re laughing around his brothers, and when you’re laughing around him.

There this electric feeling in the air that makes him want to get closer to you...

The way you reciprocate to his gestures and advances, he knows there’s something going on and he only wants to know what the future holds.

“Are ya sure about this kid…” the massive turtle looked around the corner seeing the crowds of people walking in costumes his face scrunching at the teenager who rolled past them on a skateboard spray painted silver in a pair of gray underwear hearing Mikey cackling wildly at the poor excuse for a silver surfer even if it was a clever costume “What in the f-!?” a couple of built football players from the girl’s school ran past painted green wearing purple speedos killing the youngest turtle unable to believe anyone could go out in those as the teen cringed shaking her head at the boys “There is no way I can fucking unsee the Hulk Chippendales rejects…”

The turtle in blue rolled his eyes popping his little brother in the arm for the language “Aw come on guys, this is the one night a year we can go out in the open, just trust me I got it handled” the small woman at their sides giggled looking at all the monsters and mythical looking characters her emerald green orbs shining brightly in the low light of the alley they were hiding in “And before any of you say it Dad will never know; he’s at April’s place and she’s got no idea your four are even with me – this is the first year you four aren’t following me while I’m out – look a few hours of fun then we are so going to get candy”

The tallest turtle started mumbling off statistics as she grinned before she moved closer pulling up his map showing him a signal bleeping off an area of the city they had told their father they would be in meaning if he called to check in or tried to find their phones they weren’t with her “Seriously… how many times do I have to tell you stop hacking into my tech their not toys…” he glared at her for a second before groaning as he messed with his gear looking at what she had done as the others chuckled having warned him about teaching her his technological tricks “Why didn’t I think of that? I’m losing my touch – what the… how did you figure out how to do that?” she laughed moving closer to the street looking out at everything going on

All the kids at the school had been buzzing for weeks about the Halloween bash in Central Park but so far she was thinking the real party was going to be on the streets but could see the guys hesitation as she moved forward stepping out into the streets looking around in awe at all the people who were dressed up seeing nobody looked her way in the pirate queen costume she had made grinning as she looked over at her four larger companions waving them forward finally being joined by Michelangelo who scooped up the teen whooping as a guy high fived him speaking in a Californian surfer accent as the other three turtles joined her seeing nobody was running or screaming

Nobody gave them any looks in fear or disgust but instead a few people cheered commenting on how awesome they looked before a few girls walked up admiring them fawning over the turtles who had been hanging back from the excited girl looking at them with a look that had Donatello blushing as one motioned for them to flex

The girl’s squealed as Mikey showed of grinning and flirting shamelessly as two french maids moved closer giggling as they touched his muscles

Raphael was slower to indulge them before the teen was at his side nodding quickly giggling as he finally did it seeing one girl practically passed out in her boyfriend’s arms “Go Raphie!” he chuckled winking at a woman dressed as a devil purring at the tight lingerie looking dress that hugged her hips and every sweet voluptuous curve of her body making her blush as the turtle eyed her openly before she hurried past with her full figured friend dressed like an angel both with the coolest realistic wings that opened and waved as they walked hand in hand making a soft giggle as she looked back winking at him her red eyes floating over his body

“Dude the girls are loving us!” they were all looking over the girls in the skimpy and awesomely detailed costumes even Leonardo had turned to eye a cute little geisha in a short blue kimono that had passed him her fingers brushing over his chest plate shooting him a wink with a small blown kiss as she walked on

He tried not to show interest in the way her hips were swaying seductively forcing himself to look away his face darker as he tried to act like he hadn’t been staring at her but looked back after a moment to get one final glimpse

The teenager caught him her face lighting up with a huge grin when he realized he had been caught – the older turtle may have been an honor bound ninja but he was still a man at heart and she could see this was probably going to be their first real look at the Halloween crowd from this close “She was cute – you really should go get her number big brother” he waved her off looking embarrassed as she teased seeing each of the mutants relaxed and enjoying the attention

They were all distracted by the pretty girls not paying attention to much to see a figure inching over to them coming up behind the girl who was still admiring the costumes around her “What the hell is with you!” a startled yelp caught their attention seeing the teen being grabbed up by a man moving forward before she twisted out of his arms hugging him lightly turning as the guy jumped back his hands up looking shocked as several weapons were drawn

“Whoa guys – chill… He’s a friend” she patted Raphael’s plastron giving him a reassuring grin as he slowly pulled her away; a growl still rumbling his chest keeping her with him as he looked the man over – he was tall with shaggy black hair and several piercings, his face half hidden behind his swept over bangs where a set of piercing black eyes looked up at them “Guys this is Fang, he’s the guy who stepped in to save me from the quarter back last year – Fang these are my older brother’s Leo, Donavan, and Michael – and the big guy who was about to take your head off is Raphie” the boy relaxed looking them over smirking slightly as she held tight to the huge arm around her

“Ah ha! So these are the mysterious and never seen older men keeping this beautiful flower hidden away from the world of the living – I’m playing with you it’s good to finally meet you guys your little sister is quite the firecracker” he smiled as another guy ran up grabbing ahold of him fast pointing waving for the turtles to follow them “Ay chicka let’s go their starting”

She jumped up and down as music started blaring loudly before she was running “Come on guys you have got to see this”

The teen turned once they were running after her trying to keep her in their sights before stopping looking around seeing several people standing in the circle as they moved looking around to see if they could find the girl who had just vanished seeing a few people already dancing to what sounded like a remix

“Ay found the kid” they all looked over where he pointed grinning seeing their girl dancing around in the circle with a few people before the music shut down with a loud screech as everyone in the circle hit the ground at the same time seeing the teen go limp twitching as the music started again “Oh – no… don’t tell me she-”

“Baby girl so did!” they watched as a few people started to move slowly when ‘Thriller’ started to roar to life over the speakers a few getting up jerking seeing the girl grinning as one of the monsters running around tapped her shoulder before she stood up looking to a man at the back of the area before they all jumped as an explosion went off sending fire and sparks into the air

None of them could speak laughing as the flash mob all followed a man at the front dressed like Michael Jackson seeing a side of the teen they never had before she was there dragging Mikey with her laughing as he joined in carelessly enjoying himself matching her body as she moved with little jerks here and there dancing with her friends until the song ended all of them howling in joy as cheers exploded into the air seeing them still dancing as the next song roared to life

Mikey dancing close to the teenager until a woman dressed like Cat woman pulled him away by his necklace before a pretty blond was at his side in the strangest costume with cat ears and wings but he was having the time of his life making the teenager giggle when he was surrounded by several women whooping and showing off for them

She had noticed the other turtles staying back rolling their eyes at the younger brother laughing as he waved for them to join in but they were good just watching – or they thought

Donnie was looking around watching for danger like his eldest brother before his eyes landed on a gorgeous witch walking towards him almost shyly; he was almost instantly transfixed on the full figured yet so perfectly curvy redhead the second he saw her churring lowly looking love struck as she looked him over before biting her lip as she waved a finger; her spell must have been strong because he started forward introducing himself as she looked him over better following as they walked over to a bench to talk instantly finding her asking about all his neat tech wanting to see the gadget on his arm

“Looks like Donnie is going to bore somebody to sleep”

A snort was the only response Raphael got before the geisha that had caught the leader’s attention was at Leo’s side quietly sneaking up beside him taking his hand in hers eyeing him slowly pulling him forward without a fight as his brother pushed him lightly telling him to pull the stick out his ass for once

There was no response as her hands seeming to catch him in a trance when she starting to dance with the turtle tracing the hard plates on his chest with a sweet smile; none of his family seeing an ounce of the uptight male they were used to as his hands found her hips remaining the gentleman he was

Raph trailed forward rolling his eyes seeing the teen giggling as she watched the others having a good time before catching sight of the devil finding she was looking at him through the crowd before he was stalking forward coming up to her side before being offered a drink, his golden eyes suddenly landing on her friend who came up with another girl that was dressed like a wolf all of them flirting shamelessly

The party continued for a while before she came over holding out five bags that had been handed out one for each of them before she was skipping off down the walk with a grin letting them be not wanting to ruin their fun

Each of the turtles looked to be having a good time for once and unless their radios went off she wasn’t looking to break up their fun

The girl returned to sitting over on a table chatting with a few buddies who laughed with her as Mikey showed his true party boy self getting so much attention from the ladies pretty sure she saw him getting numbers and hyping up the crowd around him

Leo started getting a bit more attention as he relaxed actually smiling as he talked to a few people making friends

Donnie looked to be head over heels with the goofiest smile on his face as him and the redhead sat close to one another looking to connect on a personal level as they seemed to be flirting pretty shamelessly, he finally stood up holding out a hand offering to go on a stroll around the haunted walk together

Last she saw they had disappeared into the park holding hands

Raphael on the other hand was entranced at the women who kept his attention going shot for shot with the demoness carrying on a conversation with the other two as they tried to get him to go in the haunted house they were in front of seeming to compliment him until he jumped up pointing for them to go following quickly

“So – are we waiting on them or-?”

The woman scoffed at her friends before jumping up quickly fixing her costume once she wasn’t being watched by the males “Are you kidding? Dude first year they won’t be watching me I’m going to get candy… Now hurry up if we play this right I can get double to stash in my room before they catch on” she was gone running down the street to cause mischief hoping her brothers had the night of their lives

She also hoped she was fast enough to get back before Leo started looking for her

TMNT incorrect quotes

Raph: surgery is just stabbing someone to life.

Donnie: please never become a surgeon.

You sat at the table, looking at the box while fumbling with it in your hands

Only a couple weeks ago, the turtles interrupted you while you relaxed in the comfort of your apartment

You were unwinding after a long day, bathed in candlelight and sipping on some sweet wine

Suddenly Mikey and Raph crashed down on your balcony while Leo and Donnie were standing in the hallway (damn them for being ninjas)

And it was no accident, they intentionally scared the living fuck out of you

Throwing the glass of wine across your living room you let out a high pitched scream and fell to the floor

As they were all laughing hysterically, you made it your mission to get back at them

So you waited patiently until the right moment would present itself

And today it finally did

Tearing at the tape of the cardboard box, you ripped it open and triumphantly eyed the object inside

Quietly getting to your feet, you lightly stepped towards the dojo

Stopping at the door, you grasped at the knob and ever so slowly turned the handle

Silently peering in, you saw the turtles in the middle of the room

Sitting in an indian style pose, their hands on their knees in an om position, eyes closed, they all quietly meditated

Keeping your intrusion a secret, you leaned your hand into the slightly opened door, grasping at the white can

Using your index and middle fingers, you positioned them on the button of the small red horn

Using your other hand, you braced yourself on the door frame

This was it, you were going to get even with them

Firmly pressing down on the red controller the sound almost took your breath away

The damn Titanic might as well have been pulling into port with the booming blare coming from the small white can

Slamming the door shut while falling back, you laughed your ass off while leaning on the floor

You could here the cacophony of yelling and cuss words coming from turtles inside

Quickly getting to your feet, you ran down the hall and heard the door swing open

You may have gotten even, but the thunderous footsteps running towards you signified you were in for a serious ass whooping

I was bored at work when this little drabble came into my head. My mind is a scary place sometimes. Much love 😘🤣

2003 Shredder Rant

Am I the only one who was annoyed the writers kept “tricking” the audience into thinking Shredder was dead?

It was so annoying. I was fine with it the first time since one fake death usually happens in shows. But doing this over 4 times is excessive and bland. This writing choice really made it hard for me to keep going with TMNT 2003. Killing off the Shredder wouldn’t have been the end of the world. Bringing new villains would have been fun and unique. A version of Shredder was the villain for every season except S6. There was Utrom Shredder, Karai Shredder, Demon Shredder, and Cyber Shredder.

This over reliance was the show’s crutch.

I still enjoyed watching the show tho.

Rise Leo Headcanon #2

Leo sometimes rick rolls his family.

He has enough lovable, chaotic energy to do this. He dabs and that is pretty much a meme. 😂 The one he would torture the most is Donnie. His "twin" would retaliate by hacking into his phone and have it constantly play Leo's least favorite songs.

Hi everyone! I’ve wanted to know the most common criticisms about the franchise for a while now, so why not ask now.

I believe some of you know that I wrote a post about my own version of the TMNT. One of my strategies for writing it is to read fans fair criticisms and not making the same mistakes as the previous iterations.

I haven’t found a lot so I would like to know what you guys disliked(fill free to say your likes too) about the franchise.

You can talk about characters, plot, etc. from any iteration. Talk about multiple iterations if you want.

Hi everyone! Ever since I’ve seen some Instagram posts about TMNT fans’ versions of the show, I’ve wanted to do this. But most of them had drawings so I felt insecure since I’m not a great artist. But I still wanted to give it a try.

Anyway, lets get this started.

It all starts similarly like the other versions.

The turtles want to explore the city and sneak out. Everything is as normal as New York can be, but it changes when the ninja turtles come across a certain red head (😉) sneaking around. They follow her and discover an alien ship. Having no choice to take the role as the new girl’s protectors, the turtles watch over as she gains information on the aliens such as their species- the Kraang- and their objective with Earth. When the girl is captured, the brothers save her and escape.

She reveals herself to be April O’Neil and explains what she was doing. April is a high school sophomore who works in a news station as an intern, and she wants to prove her abilities with a breakout story. Unlike other versions, the turtles and April don’t have an immediate connection and have no expectations to meet again. The turtles are distrustful of humans since their father/sensei warned them that being accepted by humans will be nearly impossible. Due to underlying issues, April is prone to avoiding people and rarely lets anyone in, except her roommate and best friend Irma. It would take a few episodes for their friendship to really grow and develop.

Splinter doesn’t intervene with his sons’ visits to the city for weeks until they come back injured from a Kraang fight. He decides to ban them from leaving the house in his extreme view of keeping them safe. Splinter lifts the rule when he learns the gravity of the Kraang. With that, he trains his sons harder than ever.

The first season focuses on the brothers’ relationship and growth as a team. Leo learns how to mature and become a leader; Donnie learns to follow his instincts more. Raphael learns to get over his insecure and impulsive nature. Mikey learns to be more mature and open with negative feelings.

The Shredder takes a backseat as the villain until season two, though he appears in season one alongside Karai.

This is all I have so far. I’ve only just started on this and I mostly focused on characterization and character development. I’ll have more info to reveal once I post about the characters. I’ve been thinking about writing my version as a book, but I don’t know. It would be fun to see people’s thoughts.

Donatello Headcanon. ROTTMNT/Marvel

Mine: Rise Donnie’s favorite Avenger is Iron Man/Tony Stark.

Donnie would love him since 1. He is intelligent, 2. Has a really cool lab, 3. Is majorly sassy, and 4. They have robot assistants. Jarvis and S.H.E.L.L.D.O.N respectively.

That’s kind of all I have to say.

Have Any of You Ever Had Crushes on TMNT Characters?

I am totally guilty for having crushes on TMNT characters-especially my blue-banded husbando.

I’ve had crushes on almost every iteration of Leonardo. The 2012 Leo is #1.

He’s just so sweet, brave, strong, and a great swordsman. His voice was heaven to my ears, especially when it changed in season 3. Leo also has the cutest smile. Still have a crush on him to this day. 

I also had a crush on 2012 Donnie because of how cute and smart he is. Donatello was my second favorite in the series. Rob Paulsen did a really good job making him super likable. Donnie’s smile is almost as cute as Leo’s. 

Which 2012 TMNT Characters Had The Worst Ending?

The 2012 version of TMNT is pretty well-known for not having the best characters' storyline endings. Timothy/Pulveriser, Fugitoid, and Alopex are the ones I have heard the most.

I'm curious to see which characters will have the most votes.

If I had to pick, I would say Timothy. He stayed as a frozen mutant even after Donatello found a cure. The Pulveriser may not be the best character but he deserved a happy ending.

April O’Neil(2012) Character Analysis

So, this version of April is pretty controversial, especially beyond this community. Many fans accuse her of being a toxic, manipulative women. Even some fans would use derogatory words. For me, she is not so bad. Not my favorite, but pretty okay.

I’m not trying to convince others to change their minds. I respect everyone’s opinions because everyone matters is many ways. All I want to do is explain how I see April and get some of you guys’ opinions.

Anyway, here we go.

The Main Issues

Season 2:

This season was where it all began with April hate train.

I think almost everyone can agree that April wasn’t so bad in season one, maybe even likable. At least, I did.

But all that potential love went down the drain once season two started.

The first episode, called “The Mutation Situation,” takes place a few months after they defeat the Kraang and the Shredder disappeared. Everything seemed fine since April’s dad was back and the city hadn’t been attacked. But, the Turtles once again have to face the Kraang and stop them from transporting their mutagen supply. They asked for April and her dad’s help to find the ship, though she had to trick him into doing it. The four brothers destroyed the ship, but they paid the price because all of the mutagen in the ship fell off, scattered across the city. One of the vials was going to drop on April, except her father took the hit and mutated into a human-sized bat.

Kirby kidnaps April and the guys have to save her. Once they did, Michelangelo reveals that him and his brother’s were indirectly responsible for the incident.

April gets so mad and storms off, wishing to never see them again.

Okay, so from my perspective, I understand why April broke down and said those hurtful things the first time. She went through a lot during the first season. With her dad being held captive for so long, getting kidnapped and probed by the Kraang, and being forced to relinquish most of her old life.

I’m surprised she isn’t even a bit traumatized.

When April believed the Kraang were defeated and her dad was safe, she was happy to have her life back in some kind of order. Yet, in basically a day, that whole dream died right in front of her. She was tired of all the fighting, and lost it when she realized she would have to again. In her irrational, emotional mind, I think she was angry at the turtles for more than just accidentally mutating her dad. She associated them as the start to all the craziness she didn’t want.

After everything she went through, April was desperate to have some clarity that she was willing to throw away her close friends.

I’m not saying that she shouldn’t have apologized. April needed to apologize.

What I didn’t condone from this arc was her yelling at Donnie in “Target: April O’Neil.” She went a bit off line and at least should’ve had some sense in what she was saying. Maybe Donnie practically stalking got her upset, but I get why people would get upset with her over that.

 The Love Triangle:

This love triangle was the worst written plot point in this show. I still love the show, but god this needed so much work.

I believe there were some Apritello shippers around season one. I kind of shipped them.

This ship was ruined once season two came around with that April arc and introducing Casey.

I love Casey, but he was mostly used as a plot device for the love triangle. He had so much more potential than what he got.

Based on the comments about the triangle, most people have an issue with their belief that April was manipulating the guys and how unclear the status of either Apritello or Capril.

I just got to say that poor April was dragged through the mud because of the writer’s mistakes. They confused the h*ll out of us, or at least me, with all the will they, won’t they switcheroo. It was hard to tell if April liked Donnie, Casey, both, or none of them. I think the main goal with this triangle was the writers indecision to either follow the 2003 version’s lead with Capril or go their own path with Apritello. If they had decided, this plot point would have been so much better.

To be honest, I think the writers stopped April from making a decision to make the show “interesting. ”In season 3, it seemed like April wanted to be with Donnie. Casey and her were also acting more like friends instead of love interests. Yet, in the first episode of season 4, they had to make him get love struck over her new outfit.

Ughh... the writers confused me too much.

I think it didn’t come to fans’ minds that maybe April was confused with her feelings. Maybe she liked both guys and didn’t reject both of them outright because of her need to clear her head. Sure, it was a bad idea to be honest with them, but people make mistakes.

 “The Power Inside Her”:

People are a bit harsh towards April in this episode. I totally get how they feel, though their hate for her could have clouded their judgment.

The biggest complaint I have seen about this episode is the fans being angry with April for not breaking from the alien’s control. Compared to the aeon, Za-Naron, April is a not that experience with her mental powers. Communicating or using their mental powers is normal for the Aeons, while April figured out how to use them a few months or a year ago. As she kept the crystal, Za-Naron control over her grew stronger. I think that if any other character like Leo or Donnie, fans would be more lenient since their writing was way better.

Of course, April needed to apologize for temporary killing Donnie, and hurting her friends; good thing she did. I don’t hold it against her as much as other fans.

 Conclusion:

After finishing the analysis, I concluded that April is a victim of bad writing instead of a terrible character. I know there’s an argument that the writing doesn’t really play a part with liking or disliking a character, but it does. Writers decide every character’s actions and create the person they’ll become. Reducing April to a plot device for romance was terrible. Not seeing April’s potential was one of the greatest disappointments in TMNT 2012.

If you still don’t like April, that’s fine. I’m not trying to change your mind. All I want is to open their perspectives and see that all the hate April gets can be explained.

I tried mixing the 2012 and 2018 looks together I think it came out really nice! (Even if it doesn’t look as intended with the mix)

I know the 2018 series can get a little controversial at times but I like the designs, their all different types of turtles which is pretty neat And fun! And they still have those fun and exaggerated expressions that I love and even try to incorporate in my own art, theres also thier accessories and markings that they have which is what I used in an attempt at mixing them, (along with the other types but that doesn’t show to well) I tried to make Raph look bigger but it didn’t work to well due to angles, I also ment to give Donnie glasses but I forgot,

I really love having F.Leo's company on my computer while I work ❤️‍🩹 but I look like a therapist listening to Leo's traumas, while he looks at the family photo and cries over the death of his brothers and father! 😭

I was really sad that I couldn't hug him when he was having a really bad time, so I got him some family company (I know the baby version of him and his brothers can't hug him, BUT STILL! THIS MAN NEEDS LOVE AND HUGS! AND MANY MAAAANY PATS IN THE HEAD!)

Leo had a garden.

He loved his garden.

And if anything were to happen to him, he knew his family would look after it for him.

So when he didn't make it out of the Prison Dimension alive his family adopted the garden as their own.

I finally finished it!

After weeks of writing what should've taken a few days, from something that was meant to be only be around 2-3 thousand words to now 10,000+, I am now proud to say IT IS DONE!

Of course I procrastinated by drawing art for it as well, but I enjoyed writing this peice.

Finally!

After Hal got his Halberd back from Fundi he clung to it for weeks, only forming half of himself while watching Donnie.

Once he wa comfortable, he abandoned the halberd completely and just hangs in Donnie's lab whether he's there or not.

Hal gets best if both worlds: to learn about technology without anyone talking to or noticing him at all, as well not being too alone or lonely. He also cherishes the peace and quiet he gets when the four turtles and three other spirits go out.

Hal was very nervous of Shelldon at first, especially since he was scared the A.I bot would find a way to see or hear him, and thus telling Donnie of his existence.

Hal knows Donnie isn’t keen on mystic or magic related things, so he thinks it's better if Donnie never finds out about him incase Donnie is either creeped out by him or hates him for hanging around for so long without Donnie knowing.

Thankfully though, after months of skirting around Shelldon in a panic, Hal realises that the bot cannot see nor hear him so he relaxes and goes about doing his own thing.

Little does Hal know, Shelldon can see and hear all the spirits but only Oda knkws this and managed to convince Shelldon not to tell anyone.

Its now a common scene to see Hal keenly watching Donnie in whatever he's doing, always surprised by the marvels of modern technology.

If the other spirits need to talk to Hal... they know where to find him.

I have been working on this drawing for ages, and then I got ill and couldn't finish it for a week. But I'm well now and managed to finished the background quickly so I can post it today.

Personally I'm terrible at backgrounds, (I mostly avoid doing backgrounds if I can) but I decided to put a bit more effort into it this time. I'm not sure whether I like the background I did or not... but decided to post it anyone without thinking too much. Oh well.

I decided also to included the original sketch work, Hal and Donnie without the background, as well as the background on itself, since I spent so much time on this. I do feel the background crowds the picture too much, so that's why there are different versions.

It was my brothers idea to have Donnie playing Tetris inbetween his usual work. 😆

After spending weeks with the young turtle weilders, Fundi, Oda and Tonfa finally decided to go get Hal.

While their weilders were sleeping— it took them a while to find a day when neither Leo or Donnie were awake— they seem to alternate sleepless nights—— the spirits sneaked back to Draxum's lab and grabbed the Halberd that was left behind.

When they got back to the lair Hal wouldn't come out for over a week.

Eventually Fundi got bored and forced Hal out.

Hal contuined to sulk afterwards when Fundi refused to left him back into the Halberd.

Once Hal started to explore more though, he found Donnie to be really interesting and stuck to him like a shadow.

Unlike the other spirits, Hal decided not to form himself with any of Donnies tech or gear. He prefures all natural.

The spirits stashed the Halberd somewhere hidden in Donnies lab— so far no one has found it.

Hal was suprised by the computers, tech and even simple mundane electrical devices, leading the other spirits to wonder just how old Hal really was— secretly Oda also hadn't known what a computer, phone or even a microwave was.

Hal really enjoys watching Donnie work, whether it's creating new tech or playing games, Hal likes watching Donnie hyperfixate.

Hal can tell when Donnie is over/under simulated quicker than anyone— even Donnie himself sometimes.

Hal doesn't mind that Donnie doesn't use the Halberd. He actually prefures the tech-bo Donnie uses anyway.

Sheldon kinda spooks Hal a little

I finally got around to drawing Hal! This drawing surprisenly didn't take as long as the others, but the next one is going to be an awful lot harder. Still, I think I'm getting better at drawing the turtles.
