Wilson buys House one of those reversible squid plushies as a joke and House dismissively tosses it on his desk and it sits there on the angry side for days
but then Wilson comes in after House solves his case and he notices that while the squid hasn't moved, it's been flipped to the happy side
I'm not trying to read into things that aren't there
BUT,
House md playing Delicate by Damien Rice at the end of s2 ep3 where its a slow pan outwards of House looking contemplative out a rainy window and Wilson looking at him with longing eyes while you hear the lines:
"We might kiss, when we are alone,
Nobody's watching, we might take it home"
not trying to overanalyze but this did in fact drive me insane and I fear I will never recover for the look in Wilsons eyes was devasting and filled with love

Throughout the whole show there have been themes of characters reflecting their problems onto patients and talking about the patient when they're actually talking about themselves.
House - the one uncomfortable with human emotions like love - making a conversation that was heading to talking about Wilsons feelings, into a joke that is even more steered towards love and whatnot.
Maybe, house just randomly decided to make a gay joke in a very tender moment before starting a treatment that might kill his best friend, you know, a moment where you might... confess something.
Or he finally said i love you without actually having to. In this essay i will-

I don’t wanna do any STEM majors cause I don’t know shit about that so I’m thinking somewhere in the humanities but I’m struggling to pick for them

Sometimes in fanfic I find myself writing ships into the fic that I don’t agree with just bc it makes the plot juicier
Like I’ve never shipped Foreman and Chase but for my post series finale fic I’m working on where Foreman and Chase go find House and Wilson 5 years after the series finale— adding ForemanxChase to the plot to make them a foil to early Hilson (which House and Wilson recognize) makes the plot so much better
I am starting to see a pattern in the types of ships I like and in the dynamics/tropes I want to see in fanfictions about them
I am also beginning to notice a pattern in how I identify stronger with one character in the pairing versus the other and the characters I identify with all have similar traits
The dots are connecting and I haven’t seen the full picture yet but I don’t like it
Guys I’m really enjoying getting back into fanfiction but if I keep seeing fics that are unbelievably canon compliant and painstakingly follow plot timelines down to the episode WITH THE ONLY FANON THING BEING A SHIP and it’s tagged as an AU I am going to start cyber bullying
So so so so excited to go back to work bc it means that I can go back to writing fanfiction on the corporate iPad when there aren’t customers in the store
The most intimate experience I’ve ever had with another person has got to be when my friend and I drove around for over an hour and she just patiently listened to my rant about House MD and Hilson even tho she had never watched it and it also wasn’t the type of media she engaged in. And half way through the drive she started constructing a playlist specifically of songs that were so Hilson coded “for inspiration” and once there were a few songs on the playlist we started taking turns explaining what exactly in the song FELT Hilson coded and it’s the closest I’ve felt to being understood
Thing that never happened that would drive me insane: House calling Wilson “pretty boy” to make fun of him bc he likes how flustered Wilson gets about it and one day Wilson calls House “stud” or some corny shit and they just keep going back and forth with those names for several weeks and everyone’s like “please fuck already I can’t handle this” and then they do :)
