I need to change. I want a healthy, well balanced happy life. No stress no drama just pure happiness help me please
GUYS HOW DO I GET MOTIVATION TO WRITE AGAIN WHEN I HAVE LIKE 40000 MILLION THINGS TO STUDY IN 4 WEEKS
stop what you're doing.
listen to me.
breathe.
it's okay to be overwhelmed at the idea of writing in your wip. it's okay to procrastinate. you have all the time in the world. it's okay to write in it months later, if you need that break, if you can't find inspiration.
stop stressing over your penmanship. it can be fixed. stop stressing over your word choice. that's what editing is for.
if your wip feels incomplete, don't start over. reread, plan, write. save the editing for after it's all on paper.
as writers, we often terrorize ourselves for not writing perfectly the first time. thing is, we don't realize that we're giving ourselves reason to stop writing. nothing you write will ever be perfect the first time, maybe not even the second time.
you just have to remember to breathe, come back to it later, and leave those worries behind.
i - can't find your inspiration? needing to focus? use essential oils! dab some on your paper, or even directly into the ink! peppermint is fantastic for calming the mind and helping to concentrate! rosemary is another great example of enhancing cognitive performance.
and for those techy witches scolding me for even suggesting essential oils on computers, no worries! place a drop or two on your inner wrist!
ii - mediate next to your wip! this is an amazing way to connect further with your characters and the world inside!
iii - light some candles! scented or unscented are fine. after all, it's the color that matters! yellow can help specifically with increasing activity, while brown promotes concentration.
iv - use crystals! i use crystals daily and they give me a lot of energy! use alexandrite for that little spark of inspiration!
v - tea! before, during, or even after writing, drinking tea has always aided me. i use a mixture of lavender and peppermint to boost my mood, spark creativity, and it's incredible for your immune system!
vi - make your own pen/enchant your pen
i suppose making your own pen is a bit far-fetched, right? so, perhaps you can find a feather that calls to you. doesn't sound appealing? enchant the pen you favor and let the pen do the thinking for you.
It doesn’t matter what your face looks like if your soul doesn’t match
Ok random question
How do you creative people have the motivation to create anyway?
I want to write and draw but I never have the motivation to do so…
“Just remember. None of us have any idea what we’re doing either. No one chooses to exist. You just do. You’re gonna be okay.”
— Halsey
here's an amazing motivational quote that my grandma told me today
"don't half cock it, go full cock"
her mind is a horrifying yet beautiful thing
a wise woman once said, “you are capable of twice as much as you think and ten times as much as your mother thinks” and honestly i think about that a lot whenever a wave of doubt rushes over me telling me that i can’t do it. sometimes you just gotta look your doubt right in the eyes, stand up straight and say, watch me!
It's a lot healthier to go for a daily walk than to sign up for a gym membership you won't be using because you hate that kind of exercise. It's a lot healthier to eat a frozen meal than to skip a meal because you were too tired to cook something healthy. It's a lot healthier to take a quick shower than to procrastinate an elaborate routine for days. Don't aim so high that you won't be hitting anything!
memes are fun and relatable and all that, but don't let them discourage you. all of that stuff that doesn't make it into the final product is part of how the final product gets made
When I first started writing, it took me a while to learn that writers, you don't need permission
you don't need permission to write a messy first draft
you don't need permission to add everything that makes you happy into your wips
you don't need permission to write in the way that suits you
you don't need permission to write a certain POV or a certain character or a certain trope
you don't need permission to write what you love, even if it isn't 'marketable'
anyway the actual point of fandom is to inspire each other. reading each other's fics and admiring each other's art and saying wow i love this and i feel something and i want to invoke this in other people, i want to write a sentence that feels like a meteor shower, i want to paint a kiss with such tenderness it makes you ache, i want to create something that someone else somewhere will see it and think oh, i need to do that too, right now. i am embracing being a corny cunt on main to say inspiring each other is one of the things humanity is best at and one of the things fandom is built for and i think that's beautiful
cannot recommend more putting secrets and hints in your creative work that you dont expect anyone to figure out
It's been a while, but hello! :)
“I wanted to be a writer, so I became one. How? I wrote things down.”

I’ve been having a hard time updating my blog, as you can probably see. Sometimes, I’m just busy. Other times, I’m just not up to it. It happens to us all. If you have a blog or website that you run for fun or as a side hustle, my advice is to not force yourself to update when you’re not up to it. I’ve made the mistake of doing that in the past, and it just makes it tougher to update later. If your blog or website makes you money, I can understand the need to update it constantly, of course. But everyone deserves a mental break. So, maybe I’ll just do some reblogs and quotes until I get my groove back on here. That way, I can keep the blog updated in some way, and it gets other blogs out there as well. Anywho, back to my writing orders. Take care, everyone!
Agreed. Sometimes, I'm so focused on orders on the job board or deadlines, that I forget that I need to take care of myself as well. Remember, you can't pour from an empty cup.

I just wrote over 2,500 words after not writing for a year. Just feels amazing to know that it doesn't matter if what I wrote was any good. Those are words that finally came out and they don't need to be perfect.
And I want this to be your sign that it's okay if you haven't written in a long time. You can always just come back to it.
🟢 You are still a writer even when you haven't written in a while.
🟢 You are still a writer even when you feel like you aren't writing enough.
🟢 You are still a writer when you feel like your work isn't good.
🟢 You are still a writer when other people don't like your work.
🟢 You are still a writer when you aren't published.
🟢 You are still a writer when you only have works in progress.
🟢 You are still a writer if all you write is fanfiction.
reminder to myself about the process of drafting & revising:
first drafts are for making it exist
second drafts are for making it functional
third drafts are for making it effective
