if i was actively seeking excruciating mental pain and a lot of snotty crying in theaters, i would have recommended they make stephen, while making the spell for people to forget peter, have an unusual bout of uncertain and stilted speech and say something along the lines of "he didn't make me promise to--but tony would have--wanted me to keep you... he wouldn't have wanted..." and for peter to smile bitterly and shrug a little and say "well. tony--i guess it doesn't really matter any more." everything else can stay and everything else goes as it does in canon.

but of course i am not actively seeking any more excruciating mental pain and snotty sobbing than the movie already gifted me

I NEED HELP FINDING A FIC!!! it was a mcu peter parker centric one, were he was trapped in the soul stone world but he was alone in it, and he was going kinda crazy. there were like hallucination monsters and ge imagined tony and mays floating heads in one scene?? i remember their being a scene when he gets back were he bites someone (either tony or steve) and tony was freaking out. i lost it before i got to finish it and i read it so long ago that i dont remember a thing about the title or who wrote it 😭😭

Peter and the Bikers

So, I got this idea a long time ago & wrote this a long time ago. It hasn’t been beta read and I haven’t edited it since I first wrote it, so it probably sucks (sorry) but I wanted to get it published cause idk it’s a good prompt. I told an old friend( @keep-a-bucket-full-of-stars )about this prompt when I first thought of it. It’s kind bcause of her I even got into this fandom a long time ago, so thank you.

Anyway enjoy & sorry it sucks. I promise future fics will be better.

As Peter ran down the alley street he could still hear the pounding feet of the men that attacked him running behind him, with his advanced senses the steps sounded like drums directly beside his head. The pounding didn’t help the milled concussion as it amplified the sounds and beating of his own heart.

Everything aches horribly and he had several cuts and lacerations all over his body that leaked blood and stung so bad they brought tears to the twelve year olds eyes. His clothing was ripped and soaked through in blood. The second the blonde man pulled out a switch blade Peter knew he was screwed.

So very, very screwed.

As Peter rounded the corner he was more focused on the men chasing him then the motorcycles in front of him; and before he knew it, he was running right into one of them and sending it, and himself, crashing to the concrete.

The impact from the fall only added more pain to Peter small form, forcing a sob out of the boy as he clambered back to his feet. Apologies spilling from his mouth as he stared wide eyed and terrified up at the large group of men in front of him.

“ I’m so sorry, oh my god please, I’m so sorry don’t, don’t hurt me please.” The twelve year old took several steps away from the bikers and their, now scratched up, motorcycles. “I-I can fix them, I promise I’ll fix them just-just don’t~”

Whatever was gonna come out of his mouth next stopped in it’s track as shouts came from behind him and he tilted his head back to look and felt his heart sink.

The blonde man and his two goons were standing there, expressions that of someone who just won a million dollars. They held their knives out front, some still dripping with blood,

Peter’s blood.

“O-oh man.” Peter mumbled glancing at the bikers then back to the muggers, more tears slipping out as he realized the situation he was in. It was days like today he wished he had the watch his father made him so that he was always connect to F.R.I.D.A.Y.

The blonde grinned as he stepped forward, and peter took a step back, whimpering slightly.

“ Come ‘er Kid, your daddy’s gonna pay a nice price to get you back alive. “ He sneered, his goons snickering behind him.

“ I-I don’t know what you’re talking about.” Peter replied shakily, starting to walk backwards. It was immediate to deny all relation to his dad in situations like this. Sometimes it worked and sometimes it didn’t.

The man chuckled as peter bumped into something hard, and defiantly living, behind him.

The chest behind him vibrated as the biker growled and Peter felt like he had just died. There was no way he was getting out of this one without getting anymore injuries, and no one even knew anything was wrong so he was on his own.

Closing his eyes tight, Peter braced himself.

What he heard made him flinch, the sound of fist on skin and a surprised shout had the boy jumping back, eyes snapping open.

The biker he had originally bumped into was holding the blonde man by the collar of his shirt and was punching him in the face, over and over and over and~

Something was placed over his eyes, and it took him a moment too long to realize it wasn’t something but someone. Reaching up, Peter’s hands wrapped around the wrist and held tight, neither pulling it away nor keeping it there.

Peter let out a small sob, shoulders shaking as the cries of the blonde man choked off and a deep voice rumbled;

“ If I ever see you, or your little friends, around here again. I’ll kill ya. Now get.” Feet running away is all peter heard before the hands covering his eyes were gone.

He caught sight of the three men turning down an alley before disappearing from sight.

“Are you alright?” The voice made him jump, he looked up to see the biker that had punched the blond guy. He stuttered for a moment;

“ Y-Yeah, yeah I’m okay. T-Thank you, for-for scaring them off and, uh, I’m really really really sorry about your motorcycles.

I didn’t mean to run into them, I swear! I really didn’t , but I can fix them! I know how! Or I could buy you new ones if you wanted, or~” the biker guy that peter was just gonna start calling red beard, because he had a big red beard that went down to the center of his chest; cut him off with a loud, booming, laugh.

“ Calm down kid, I don’t care about the bikes. Well, I do, but It wasn’t your fault.” He stated, and peter sighed.

He was sure that red beard and his friends would be furious about their bikes, he knows he would be if he had motorcycles that looked like those, and he was sure they would show their anger in kicks and punches.

Overwhelmed with relief, peter slumped to the ground and let out a light chuckle.

“ I thought that was the end of me.” He stated, small laughs mixing with sobs as the adrenaline left him in a heap on the ground. Unwanted tears slid across his cheeks even as he tried to rub them away.

A heaven hand landed on his should and he looked up.

“ Come on kid, we’ll take ya home.” It was a girl this time, but she wasn’t like any girl he’d ever seen. She was big, not fat, but muscular and she wore a black jacket and pants to match. Her hair was long and blonde, braided and draped over her shoulder. There was no denying she was beautiful, different than how his mom was beautiful, but still beautiful.

“I-it’s okay, you don’t have to. I can make it back on my own.” Peter stumbles, cheeks growing warm. He was only twelve, he didn’t talk to girls much; except MJ and Shuri, but they didn’t count. The girl smiles,

“Well let’s just say we want to, okay? To make sure you get there safely. Who knows, those guys may come back.” Red beard huffs,

“Yeah right, not after the scarin’ I just gave em.”

Despite himself, Peter giggles. He may suck as defending himself, but he has a Grey judge of character and he really liked red beard.

“ Okay, I can show you the way and when we get there I can fix you’re bikes!” He says, getting more and more excited. A few bikes laugh, either at his enthusiasm or the fact they think a twelve year old can fix a motorcycle.

~~Time Skip~~

Red beard decided to leave the bikes behind for now, deciding instead to lift Peter up onto his shoulders and walk seeing as the tower wasn’t far from where they were. Peter thought this way was more fun anyway, he could see everything up here!

When the front doors of the tower came into view Peter could see a couple figure standing there, all of which he recognized instantly.

“Daddy!” He called, smile bright.

Said man turned and Peter swore if he didn’t know any better he’d say his daddy died right there. His skin got so pale and his face dropped into a position Peter had never seen before. It was funny.

“Pete!” Tony cried, Pepper echoing his words; before he bolted to the giant man, surrounded by other giant men (and women), carrying his son on his shoulders.

Peter wiggled around, trying to get down, before red beard grabbed him under the arms and helped. When his feet touch the ground Peter skips to his dad and starts rambling,

“ Dad you’re never gonna believe what happened! I was walking home and the guys corners me in the ally but I got away! But he hit me a couple times, it hurt. But then when I was running I accidentally bumped into their motorcycles” he points behind him,” and knocked them over, but instead of beating me up they chased those guys off and walked me home! I scratched their motorcycles though, but I said I’d fix them! They are really nice and funny! Red beard is really funny and the blonde lady, her name is Annie, is really nice! I like them a lot daddy.” Taking a deep breathe, Peter ends his tale.

Tony stands dumbfounded, his mouth opened wide in shock and eyes wide. It takes longer than it should for Peters story to sink in and words to come back. He kneels down and tugs Peter into his arms, tugging the kid close.

“ Pete... I don’t even know what to say. For one I’m so glad you’re okay, this is why I tell you to always keep you’re watch on you.” Tony slowly lets go and stand back up, looking at the group of people in front of him and letting Pepper drag Peter into a hug.

“ Thank you, so much, for saving my boy.” He breathes, before pulling out his phone, “name a price and it’s yours, along with whatever motorcycles you want, or repairs. It’s on me.” Red beard smiles and peter cheers.

I'm losing my mind. This quote, from an official source, has made my week. Because thats exactly it! Thats the point! It's not that Tony looks as Peter and wants to adopt him because hes just so cute or anything. Tony looks at Peter and sees himself!

He sees himself in miniature. He sees a kid with all the potential that Tony wasted, all the potential that Tony mourned throwing away. Tony wants to make sure that Peter gets all the parts of Tony that Tony is proud of, and that Peter avoids the parts that still haunt Tony.

Tony gives Peter tech. He gives him access to the lab, new suits, and academic validation. He tries to make sure that Peter gets the chance to grow up as surrounded by tech as Tony did.

But! Tony is there! He actually helps, he makes sure Peter knows that the tech is a gift, and its there because Tony thinks Peter is worthy of it. And Tony is somewhat strict (ferry scene, yelling in infinity war, ect.) because I'm sure a part of him wishes that Howard had stopped Tony from partying and throwing his life away.

Irondad works so well, in my opinion, because its not that Tony thinks that he would be a good dad and so he finds some kid to take in. Its good because Tony finds a piece of himself in the way Peter behaves, and he starts feeling responsible for it. He is PUSHED into parenthood by his sense of responsibility and guilt over his past.

Tony looks at peter and sees who he could have been. He wants to make sure that Peter ends up better than him. Tony wants to right the wrongs done to him, to make sure Peter doesn’t experience the hurt that followed Tony into adulthood.

(And then Peter lost a mother-figure and a father-figure, and both were killed in a way that Peter doesn’t feel right to blame the murderer for their deaths. And Peter got put into the public eye, every movement criticized. And the Peter was so famous that his "bad publicity" held him back from his dream school.

Tony wanted Peter never to experience the things that hurt Tony. But Toy didn't live long enough to watch as all his efforts were proven to be in vain.

Because history repeats. The son becomes the father. Theres only one way this story ends.)

Peter: *texting happy* Happy! Help, I’m being kidnapped!

Happy: *replying* where are you?

Peter: I’m with some strange person! In a car. Help!

Happy: I’ll call Tony

Tony: *answering his cell* Y’ello?

Happy: where’s Peter? He told me that he’s being kidnapped.

Headcanon that Tony Stark despises Samsung and is utterly disgusted that Peter has been carrying one that has a cracked phone screen and has been carrying it since he was 13.

"A Samsung? Seriously Pete?" Tony would say, holding up Peter's 'phone'. "You will not be carrying this under this roof, not on my watch."

Tony would instantly change Peter's phone to a Stark one instantly, and definitely will not care about what Peter has to say about it.

(Bonus points if Tony also despises Apple because they are always copy pasting their phone models. "All they do I update the camera which is not even that good.")

Actually kinda sad that zero marvel ships are in the top 100 ao3 ships this year. NOT EVEN STUCKY WHICH IS THE TOP MCU SHIP.

TOP 100 AO3 SHIPS OF ALL TIME

1st: Stucky dropped by one rank from 4th to 5th. But still in the top 5!!

2nd: Stony dropped by one rank as well. From 6th to 7th. BUT TOP 10 ANYWAY SO YAY.

3rd: Irondad and Spiderson rose up by ONE RANK!!! From 20th to 19th!!! WE MADE IT TO TOP 20!!

4th: Pepperoni dropped FIVE ranks. Still I'm so happy we made it to like the top 35 ships!!

5th: Bucky/Reader. I'm not really into this but biases aside, this ship stayed in its spot! Congrats!

6th: Thor/Loki. THIS DROPPED NINE RANKS. Y'all still made it to top 70 which is a-okay! Congratulations! 👏👏

Tony Stark has this bit he does, where he pretends to forget who people are. It’s one of his favorites, really. Ned is the usual victim, but Peter has seen it played on a number of people.

And it’s funny. It really is.

It’s just not funny when Tony looks at Peter and says “Who are you again?” after Peter fought so hard to know the mechanic again post-spell, he finally is on speaking terms with his old teammates, he has a guest room in Stark Tower again. It’s not as funny when the man who used to be Peter’s father pretends not to know him, blissfully unaware of just how much he really has forgotten.

That’s when the bit stops being funny.

I STAND WITH THIS.

but I'm telling you that Tony will go soft for his son.

Peter is so the opposite of Tony in every way emotionally and I think that’s why they learn so much from each other. Like, Tony doesn’t hug people. He doesn’t seem a very openly affectionate person, even with the people he’s closest to. Every piece of kindness is masked by a joke or a comment about his reputation, anything to avoid flat out vulnerability.

Peter, meanwhile, hugs the man he just met. Peter helps old ladies across the street and worries about schoolwork in the face of danger. Peter calls criminals and superheroes alike by formal names, “Mister criminal” and “Mister Stark”, he sees the humanity in every person he webs up or stands beside.

Both are completely, COMPLETELY predictable in emotional mannerisms, but Tony hopes to seem like an emotional 0 and Peter is openly at an emotional 100 all the time. That’s what makes their dynamic so interesting. The father made of stone and the son with a bleeding heart
